Messi was evading tax. Which doesn’t SOUND bad. But what does tax do? Pays for the roads, hospitals, defence, benefits, he’s basically robbing the poorest people in a country. Tax evasion sounds fancy but it’s disgusting. Infact the whole of the worlds problems would be solved by top earners paying the correct amount of tax.
Cantona flying kicked a fan. Dwight Yorke abandoned his child because it was disabled (btw, much worse than what Giggs did).

Back in 1993, Man United and Arsenal came to play a pre-friendly in my country (South Africa). I was about 11 years old...but my dad who was a semi-pro footballer himself in the local scene managed to get my sister and I around the back of one of the training fields United were training at. I remember waiting with great anticipation and the next minute the Man United bus arrived. I couldn't believe my eyes (although I have been an Arsenal fan all my life) to see all these footballers I basically idolized start stepping off the bus and walk towards the entrance of the ground we were waiting. Giggs was especially special to me, because all my team mates in my club side used to call me 'Giggs', because of my dark curly hair and dribbling skills. Each and every one of them signed an autograph, except Mark Hughes (no surprise there) and of course Ryan Giggs. I remember Giggs giving me a scowl as he walked past. I was shattered. There were no other fans around or people begging for an autograph so I couldn't understand why he did that. Anyway, what I do remember is that Peter Schmeichel, as tall and intimidating as he was on and off the pitch, was the nicest and kindest in person - he even stopped and chatted to me for a bit. So a bitter sweet memory for me.

Isn't it interesting how true it is when people say, "Don't ever meet your idols." Your story reminded me of something that happened to me back in high school. In short, I was waiting (first in line) to get into a show of one of my fave bands - and I was early and the only one there - and the frontman walks down the stairs… This was when bluetooth headsets were first coming out, and I didn't notice that he was on the phone. I said with a wowed face, "Hey!" I stuck out my hand for a high five, and he looked at me and said, "I'm on the f***ing phone," and walked off. I was shattered. The opening band, who became one of my all-time fave bands, were so nice to me later that night when I met them that it made what was shaping up to be a traumatic experience into a night that I really enjoyed in the end. Your story totally took me back to that. Thanks for sharing it.

I genuinely believe had I ever played for Wales i would have quit the team the moment he became manager and made sure it was widely known that I cannot respect a man who could do such a despicable deed. Imagine him giving you instruction and having to look him in the face knowing what he's done.

@@Jordan-hf4ch The guy's not a nice person, by his own admission he was stealing where he could, trading on his brother's name, getting paid for giving out false tabloid stories, using his brother's name to sleep with women who otherwise had no interest in him, jail for a first assault charge - what did he do, how many were beating up those two guys he fell out with? He got sent to strangeways after he bottled the one guy and he said he "enjoyed" it? Because he was protected obviously, because he was in tight with local villains. Strangeways is a bad jail and so the faces that can give him protection in there are not nice people. He's smashing the charlie, hanging out with villains, dobbing his own brother in for tabloid money.. and he got together with the woman that his brother was cheating on his wife with - so clearly he took the easiest route to a regular shag with a woman he couldnt otherwise get, who was only with him so he could get access to his brother, the guy she had just been committing adultery with. He says that she had it away with 10 other footballers while they were together. Cant remember his own kids ages. Everything he has had has been on the back of his brother, all his money earners, everything. Good luck to him but he's not rehabilitated - just always taking the easy option which at his age is acting conciliatory in the media whilst also keeping the years old story alive. I hope things work out for him.

Rhodri is a pretty admirable bloke, I didn't know anything about it all, apart from the affair, no details, or anything, + it all must have been quite upsetting + he handled it great.
He doesn't seem bitter + twisted, hard done by, he's no bs with a really good attitude to what's happened to him. He's been shat on, let's face it, he's handled himself admirably, I've got nothing but respect for him, he's dealt with it all like a gentleman, unlike his brother................ who hasn't!.
As he says, he's over it, but everyone else............. I hope his kids understand what a great example he is, they should be proud, he's a proper role model.
He had some really difficult circumstances that through no fault of his own, he was made to face up to + deal with. He could have done so in all sorts of ways that would have been wrong, not only did he not do any of that, he's not held on to any of it, either.
He's not holding a grudge, or a chip on his shoulder, or any self-pity.
    He's a really impressive bloke.

@violet Fair point, I don't, every word he said could be a pack of lies + could well be plotting some terrible revenge that some time ahead he'll unleash + all holy hell will come down on his brother, ex-wife, + anyone else he feels has wronged him.
You're right, I can't feel his emotions, but I'm glad you mentioned emotions, because we don't realise how things work, most of the time, I didn't until I was looking at things of this sort.
In short, you always have the emotions, you decide how to carry on in relation to them,
Rhodri will always have the emotion of being betrayed by his wife + brother. So, I can't feel his emotions but I know it'll be there + everything suggests he's decided to not to hold a grudge, which is the best thing you can do in this sort of case, as opposed to make your life miserable by keeping it all close + present.
No can ever say he's over it with 100% certainty, which doesn't mean he hasn't got that emotion in him, I believe that'll always be there but he's made a choice on how he's going to deal with it.
I'm not saying he would have had these thoughts + been as deliberate as I've been, I'm trying to explain myself........ trying to.
But, having said all that, you are right, I don't know what's going on up there in his head + I don't know him......... I'm pretty good with people I do, if I say so myself.
It's not hard to tell if someone is unhappy + overall, generally not happy with life as it is for them. If you know what is the main reason for that is + you talk about it like they did in the interview it'll be obvious, the reason + the result will be clear.
Rhodri didn't sound like he was talking about something that was eating away at him or was a major concern to him + I believe he's not holding any grudge or is likely to react some time in the future in relation to the betrayal..
But who the hell am I? No one at all + I'm not asking to be believed, but I do believe what I've said.
I'd bet 50p on my being right, + I don't know the bloke or have a clue about all the motives + ins + outs concerning this sorry
      business.
I gave my opinion, all the same, no one asked for it but it's been said I'm very generous in spirit............ For the most part it's been me saying it, but that's not to say it isn't true!

Such good interviewing skills; asks all the right questions at the right time.
What a guy Rhodri is though. Goes through so many different challenging situations and somehow manages to smile his way through it.
