Wow, Shane! People always ask me how I learned to do this or that. Seems I get asked that a lot because I do most anything. I honestly think the reason most people can't do some difficult tasks is that they are afraid to try. So you mess up sometimes. That's how you learn. You don't learn if you don't try. So congrats man. Car looks great. Keep learning!
Awesome video.. I am restoring an 83 280ZX and a 1979 Datsun 210. A ++ Thanks for showing how it is done. I remember watching Mustangs like yours with that paint scheme kicking butt back on the late 89 and early 90's.

Also how long did you wait after spraying the rustoleum until you sprayed the clear? And how long did you wait inbeteeen coats of clear? Awesome job this is exactly how i want to do my 87, thanks for any info you share
I did 4 parts paint, 3 parts acetone, and one part Majik Catalyst/Hardener (P/N 8-0950-4). I waited a week to do the clear so the paint could gas out. I used U-Pol 2882 2K Clear with the standard UP2323 hardener. I want to say it was 1/2 hour between coats of clear. That's one detail I don't remember much, but I know it wasn't a great deal of time. If I could change anything, it would be to use an adhesion promoter on the bumper covers. I'll probably end up doing those again at some point, as there are some bubbles I can see (it's been a year).
