1 tip I suggest is to pour some treacle at the bottom of the bowl before adding the pudding mix so that after it is cooked, you will have hot treacle running down the pudding.
Looks amazing. Absolutely going to try this .... Can I ask how you reheated it when you were ready to eat it?
Hi, You can simply microwave it, I know some people use the steam setting for reheating
Oh my days, I can’t find the words, except can I have some! Delicious, pretty sure this will work gluten free so that’s our weekend treat sorted. Susannah you are so talented and we just love your channel, keep on giving us more of the same please. Jan ❤😊xxx
I agree it should work well gluten free, all that syrup its got to taste good!!! I appreciate your support. A different style of video tomorrow...come shop with me and make a Chinese Fakeaway! Also a 3-part steam meal recipe at the weekend, I think you'll like the method.
@@susannahskitchen I think its important to support good content like yours with good wholesome food and recipes i can understand. Looking forward to those videos, sounds great 🤗x
40 minutes seems excessive? Did you try less like 25 minutes?
Because if it's steamed it should take 40 minutes but pressure cooking is much faster
Nearly 2000 subscribers, well done 👍
My Channel is growing a lot faster now and I'm really grateful. Been doing this for 1.5yrs and made 414 videos!!
What size bowl was it please and was it a pyrex that you can use in a pressure cooker?
Hi, yes it was a Pyrex and no problems with it in the ninja. The size is a 1 litre pudding bowl. Although I have read that Pyrex don’t say that are pressure safe.
I’ve read that silicone, metal, ceramic or glass that’s marked as oven safe should be ok under pressure.
A bit confusing really as internet tells you different things but my Pyrex bowl was fine in this recipe.
Thanks for the reply. I'll defiantly be trying this out within the next couple of days 👍@@susannahskitchen
Hi, I tried this today, followed it all to the letter but when I turned it out it was completely raw inside, what might I have done wrong please?
Thank you
Sue
Silicone bowl??
No I cooked it in a Pyrex bowl exactly like the one used in the video.
@@SusanLloyd-g5c oh wow that’s strange then. I have no clue why if you used same dish and recipe. I’ll have a think to what else could cause this..,.
Thank you, it was disappointing as it looked really nice.
@@SusanLloyd-g5c you had it on high not low?
Could you advise on size of your pudding bowl as mine seem a lot smaller
I think this was 1 litre
@@susannahskitchen thank you. So glad to have found you I trust your recipes rather than the manuals. Fantastic recipes .
@@valeriegriffiths7060 thanks for watching
Warm the metal spoon before dipping into syrup
Great tip 😀
Far easier to do in a microwave.
I think these days so many people don’t have a microwave so it’s an alternative. Appreciate you letting me know though
Most people I know have them.
125g/4oz butter, melted, plus extra to grease the pudding bowl
125g/4oz caster sugar
2 eggs
150g/5oz plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 small lemons, zest and juice
1-2 tbsp milk
4 tbsp golden syrup, or jam if preferred, to serve
custard, optional, to serve
Grease bowl. Add Syrup.
Mix the other stuff and add to the bowl.
Cover with lid or cling film.
Full power for 4 minutes. Leave to stand for a couple of minutes.
thanks I'm sure that will be really useful to a lot of people@@Nickle314
Hot marmalade pudding recipe by Nick Nairn. If you google it it is excelent. It's that time of year too where you want a rib sticking pudding.
