    I love how the gas strike gas can kill you in 1 second but it takes like 10 seconds to kill warriors

    3:16 I like how that titan died at the edge of the blast, but other times a perfectly centered 500kg will not kill

      Something to do with the damage dispersing in a cone shape, instead of a dome or ball, so it widens out higher up. Still doesn’t make sense to me, but that’s what I’ve heard.

      @@jontay4199 It makes sense in the case it also takes the angle of the bomb itself into account. Thanks to how the eagle drops them, they always come down in an angle. So even if it is directly underneath a BT, the cone wouldn't go straight up.

      I've seen a shell land right in the body of the thing, then blow, and it just have busted armor and not dead. SO yeah. No matter how anyone else explains it, when that happens, sadly the gaze of Joel is not favorable upon your soul.

      The devestator, if you can manage the slow handling, is good against bugs. I've 1 tapped brood commanders with it.

      Where do you shoot the commanders for a oneshot? I've used the dominator a fair bit, and had a lot of inconsistencies with it's damage and TTK. @@blue555666

      Doesn't counter any armor is it's issue .. and using max rate of fire just chews thru ammo faster .. mg42 is better for ammo conservation as it has better armor penetration and can be fired at a slower rate with more success

      And i would suggest always bringing ammo back pack. I still hate Plasma Punisher but i can see it paired with Stalwart to kill chargers.

    As an early gun to clear trash mobs on lower difficulties the Stalwart is ace. 750 rounds total, 500 from a supply pack, and firing from crouching or prone it's a laser beam

      ...and at higher difficulties, fire in bursts at higher RoF and especially when you can't count on your teammates to cover you while you squat to reload for five minutes.

      Agile targets like the hunters and stalkers are the major threats from trash mobs. The low turning speed simply forces you to take extra time tracking them when they hop around trying to dodge your shots. I don't know why a light machine gun is slower than many of the bulkier support weapons.

    For the storm, if you have the compass turned on, you can still see you're ping.

      I think there's something buggy with the options for the compass though. I had mine set to always and it doesn't even show up, I tried all the other options for it, and it just seems to be broken now and doesn't show up at all, lol.

    The machine gun or stalwart really does balance your load out with the plasma shotgun, but when you’re solo, like many combinations, don’t stack up as well. In a team game, machine gun is the better option but difficult in solo due to reload time.

      Makes me wonder if we'll get some armor with passives that let you reload weapons you would normally have to stop for on the move (obviously not including the team load weapons), I would call it something like "Multi-Tasker"

    I get the Stalwart idea. Arc thrower doesn't tend to hit things that are right in your face and you definitely don't want to use the plasma for that. I just find the plasma punisher to be unpleasant to use, even if it does occasionally and inconsistently kill things it shouldn't.
    I definitely agree on hunters being the worst and it's compounded with the fact that the game continually spawns groups of 8 - 10 enemies (7 of them hunters) directly behind you in combat every 20 - 30 seconds with no counterplay. I don't even see the point of stopping a bug breach because the game is just going to spawn them anyway.

      For me, it feels bad to use because the shots almost never go where the retical is pointing, and the damage could use a small buff so that the AOE always one shots small units.

    The stalwart just needs to be nerfed a little and made into a primary. It's useless as a support weapon since it just does exactly what your primaries already do but... slightly better?

      It's even in the loadout part of the ship along other primaries. I guess it's okay at top rate of fire but otherthan that? Arc Thrower is still a lot better.

      Are you serious? That would completely trivialize the game.. and everyone would be running around with it for the sole purpose of closing bug nests. Nobody would use anything else.

      ​@@Jumbuck1151nah It would be decent weapon with that, a dozen of match I play with people already unlocked it have same opinion. As I stated, I just disappointed to seeing an explosive splash damage weapon which looks like grenade launcher but worse not being able to close bug hole. I can deal with it having low damage for balancing purposes, but yeah first impression day 1 without youtuber haven't made a content about it yet really disappoint me after shot it to bug hole.

    I've been rocking the Las-16, Stalwart, Ammo Pack + Light Medic + Fire Grenades. Hunters are no longer my problem or any teammates that are near me. It's fingers on triggers till I'm on the dropship.
    Las-16 use it to a point of overheating, switch to stalwart put it to slow fire. Once the stalwart reloads go dry I switch back to the Las-16 and burn down all the reloads on that, then I pull a reload from the ammo bag. That is 6 Las-16 mags + 2 Stalwart mags + 2 stims, + 2 grenades. This build is peak for keeping smaller mobs off your buddies so they can sufficiently handle the bigger guys. Plus when you take your slice from a resupply its essentially 2 slices since your supply pack gets back 1 box too. Not to mention you'll be able to call down a full resupply pack later in the game as well. (not to mention its super clutch for your buddies with heavy weapons like the AC, Recoiless, Railgun.)
    It's easily breathed a lot of life back into the game because before I'd be getting swarmed by hunters, just being miserable and really not enjoying the game. Now I feel like a God when the stats screen comes around and I have 550-700 kills and 7,000-8,500 rounds spent with a 70% hit. The day I get to 10,000 rounds spent is when I'll be getting that screen shot.

    My current Helldive difficulty build
    Primary :
    Slugger≈liberator penetrator
    Strats:
    Stalwart
    Personal Shield
    Shield Generator
    500kg bomb (x2 with ship upgrade)
    Mobs attack shield> you drop the 500kg on them. Use medium pen on primary to cut down medium enemies use stalwart to control trash mobs. Shield gen respawns in like 80 seconds. Deploy again and bomb again. Rearm Eagle and drop after like 90 seconds. Quick cooldowns, good for every situation, not the best at any so you compensate with skills boi

    I think the intention for guns with low handling like the stalwart is for you to massively overcorrect with your dot crosshair so that your circle gets back on target. Think of it kind of like counter strike except the game is showing you where the barrel is pointed instead of having to memorize spray patterns. I think you'd have an easier time with it if you did that. The way youre using it in the video is just like if you were using a breaker. Its a different gun and has different needs for it to be successful.

    I took 3 shots with this thing and was so dissapointed. The arc shotgun is also very underwhelming. Plasma needs way more ammo per clip and the arc needs to shoot like 2 or even 3 times faster than it does. Edit: hunters should not slow you, imo the slow mechanic is what makes the shield generator essential right now. Pls don't nerf shield regen again for the love of god.

      Yup, hunters are why shield doesn't leave my loadout on bugs ever. Knowing them they'll nerf it again and increase the hunter spawn even more, and that's when I'm quitting the game. As fun as it is, as much potential as it has, they keep nerfing and breaking stuff to the point its becoming unfun. Not impossible. Just unfun to do. I don't want my bullet hell style games to take esport levels of play to accomplish. I come home from work everyday to play games to unwind and have fun, not feel like I have a second job. The "reduction in heavy enemy spawns" feels more like doubled instead, but it's also very inconsistent just like every other aspect of the game. I've had level 9 missions spawn less than level 7 missions and go much smoother, and I've seen more stuff spawn on level 4 than I have on 7 or 8. It's so busted right now, and they refuse to fix the bugs/inconsistencies in favor of nerfing crap over and over. I don't understand how you can nerf something when half the shit doesn't even work how it's supposed to or is so inconsistent you can't even make informed thoughts about what difficulty is best for you/most fun for you to play and what works for 1 person varies greatly person to person. How can you know something is overperforming when shit doesn't even work right to begin with? Being told "this totally kills X mob in X shots" just to test it and it doesn't work for you at all, is either a growing group of lying people, or even more inconsistencies.

      ​@@looking4themountainnot what I said at all, go back and read it. I love the hell out of souls games, I've played 3 and elden ring multiple times. Those games are difficult in fair ways. If you can't beat a boss, make sure your weapon is leveled, and get better at the boss. This game throws 8 bile titans and an ion storm at the same time and says "here ya go good luck!" And you kite for 3 minutes.

    I think the stalwart compliments the scorcher, stalwart for the smaller enemies that tend to rush you, scorcher for the larger ones up to the charger so youre not shooting up close and getting hit in the damage splash back. Then you got strategems for the bile titans.

    I think that any explosive weapon should be able to close bug nests as well as the flamer incendiary grenades whenever I think of a flame thrower I just think Vietnam and shooting it into the tunnels why can’t it shut down bug nests

      What are you going on about? The incendiary closes bug holes consistantly. My friend mains the damn thing since 80 hours of ingame time or so. Every couple douzen bugholes he complains about a nade going off in a bug hole and not closing it, but quite frankly.. the game is just inconsistant like that sometimes.

      Absolutely. Would give the plasma shotgun a better use case for bugs and I really don't think it would be that op at all. Plasma shotty could use more damage and bigger splash imo. The slow fire rate and the fact it explodes makes you feel like you should be dishing out a ton of damage but the delivery doesn't effectively do that. Hunters and below should be a 1 shot in the splash radius. The bigger guys can stay at more shots obviously but trash packs? Come on.

    4 shots for a charger seems amazing for a primary gun, and two shots for a warrior isn't really that bad either, plus you have 12 mags so it's not like you're hurting for ammo the whole time

      It is surprisingly good against chargers, and i guess some people will find a usecase for that. To counteract that, it feels completely aweful to use against pretty much anything else, really. Also, while it's true that it has a huge ammo capacity (12*8 = 96 shots), you also only recover 6 mags per supply drop, 3 per ammo package. There is other weapons that recover completely with a single supply package. In fact.. that might be most of them. So unless you ration your ammo usage to the recoverable amount, which is far below that 12 mag capacity, you are actually hurting for ammo the whole time. Tho then again, it depends on how you use it. If people actually run the support weapon as primary and only use the plasma to handle certain enemies, it's more than enough ammo surely. Then there is also the chance of the ammo recovery per pickup to be bugged.. because heck, there is more chance for anything in this game to be unintentional than not at this point xD

      The only use for that would be if you are running an arc thrower for everything else IMO.
      Every other support weapon besides the mid LMGs will kill chargers faster.

      @@SuperCatacata As someone who does run arc thrower, certainly not. The one thing you want help with is hunters, not chargers. Once they get close, the arc thrower is a horrible match for them. The only way to consistantly hit something right infront of you is by jumping backwards then firing mid-air. Works for one or two targets, but allows other fast ones to catch up, giving up the long range strength of the arc thrower completely. Hunters especially will just jump after you lol. So the plasma, which is a horrible weapon at close range that literally kills you rather than the enemy, is an abysmal match with the arc thrower imho. At least when we are talking against the bugs.
      As far as chargers are concerned, you can kill a charger in 6 headshots with the arc thrower and you can shoot faster than once per second if you do it right. So maybe 4 seconds or so for a charger, best case. If they come straight at you, you can usually even kill it before it even reaches you. While the flame thrower is a bit faster in best case killspeed, it more often than not results in turning circles and lighting the whole ground on fire. Both weapons suffer from turning chargers tho. If you have to switch what body part you shoot at, that drastically increases the time to kill. Still unless you want to give up your backpack, i would say these are the best support weapons against chargers.

      I was looking forward for the blitzer thought it’d be the same as Arc thrower but man. The weapon is just not good man. The fire rate is the main problem imo. And the range too

      It's just a worse sickle.
      Both have unlimited ammo and are only for taking out small mobs. But the sickle does that better. Not to mention the sickle has range.

      @@user-vr8ed5yx3g It 100% arcs and chains through enemies. It just has a really short effective range that you almost never encounter the enemy density and closeness to experience it consistently.

      ​​@@SuperCatacataIt has nothing to do with Sickle, nor does it compete with it.
      Blitzer has medium armour pen and staggers any non-heavy enemy it hits. Its biggest drawback is the hard-capped 1.5s cooldown after every shot, but otherwise it's quite solid for an infinite ammo primary that doesn't even overheat. For bugs, anyway.

    Have you tried the stalwart on the lowest rpm setting (hold r weapon menu)? Lower recoil, better handling, and better ammo management perfect for the chaff and warriors. Then I switch off to the slugger for hive guards and brood commanders if there's no incoming chaff. I typically play difficulty 5-6 and sometimes 7. Occasionally on difficulty 7 extraction becomes overrun with hive guards which neuters the stalwart. Seeing what extraction looks like on helldive I think only a grenade launcher and orbital/eagle stratagems could handle that density of enemies and the stalwart can't keep up with the damage needed.

    I think weapons like the Stalwart would be useful if there were more good primaries like the Slugger which are designed to deal with specific enemy types. As it stands now, Stalwart is just a gun that can clear mobs. Most primaries are already good at that while also not wasting your support weapon and stratagem slot. You can't just look at a weapon in a vacuum when judging it. You have to consider what you're giving up for it too. A lot of people don't seem to get that.
    Also shout out to that bile titan eating your 500kg bomb and walking away. It's fine guys they got nerfed. Just use your stratagems.

    i just used the stalwart on helldiver, 10 secs in, realizing its not medium armor penetrating and has no damage, immediately disconnected to use something else

    Use the stalwart with randoms this morning on suicide, it’s great for taking care of smaller enemies. It allows everyone else to load up on gens. No one kicked me and we completed the missions and extracted.

    When it comes to the stallwart, you dont lead your shots to compensate for ergo, you dont reload while running and manage the guns magazines premptively. Most importantly you dont use your secondary when you get in bad situations.
    I generally consider the grenade launcher overall better then the stallwart against bugs because of how much damage it does against armor, but both weapons aren't going to shine in soloplay since they have any downtime at all.
    Back to the stallwart though, I like to use it at max firerate and fire it in bursts. You seem extremely unfamiliar with it and admit yourself you find it weird and don't use it often.
    I'm not sure what you expected honestly, solo asks an insane amount and your basicaly playing a different game then other players to begin with.
    I will reiterate I play exclusively on level 7 difficulty against bugs and bots equally both in full lobbies and with randos, so it might not stack up against whatever level 9 is doing even if it wasnt solo.

      Also as a side note. The stallwarts time to kill is only a tiny bit better then the new sycthe gun. When at max firerate the differences are alot more apparent.

    I do think that's the game they were trying to make. They were aiming for a peak of what 20k people? I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that they were expecting most of their playerbase to at least be working together to some degree.
    I'm PC lvl 50 with >160 hours in by now, an I've never been kicked for my loadout. How big of a problem is that actually? About half my lobbies are from finding randoms in the Helldiver's discord, 1/4 from premade groups, and 1/4 pure random matchmaking. I'm only solo to test specific things.
    Chat's claim is that the Stalwart feels good vs bugs, especially after they adjusted the spawnrates. OD's claim is that the Stalwart is pure copium. I think it's fine now. I wouldn't call it the best horde clear but since the patch I don't feel like I'm griefing my teams by bringing it to helldive bugs now. The comparable options are Arc/GL/Flame/MG/Railgun. Personally, I'd take the GL or Flamethrower in most cases, because they handle more. I like being on the extreme end of horde-clear duty + base killing or charger killing. Drawback for both is I'm can easily kill myself and my team if enemies are too close and I'm not careful.
    Stalwart can't kill as much as quickly, but you won't kill yourself or your team NEARLY as much from enemies being too close. I keep hearing people swear by the Arc Thrower for that role, but I don't like it as much. I'd only really be bringing it if I'm solo and I NEED to handle everything myself, which it can do. It can kill everything, (hordes, titans, chargers, stalkers, teammates, etc) but it's not the best at killing anything. You can handle up close hordes of hunters with Stalwart and Redeemer though. Maybe the key here though is I'm not comparing them in a vacuum, but rather how they feel when I'm playing how I normally do with 1-3 other people.

    I took a break for a few days from HD after the TCS missions were done, so I haven't tried the plasma yet.
    All I have to go on are these last 2 videos, but these are the takeaways I got from them:
    - It's comparable to the Scorcher in killing ATSTs from the front.
    - It's the BEST weapon vs eggs now
    - It's worse than the Scorcher vs heavy bot vents, but still better than most of the other primaries
    - It triple taps bile spewers. Comparing to other primaries; It's no slugger that can 2 shot them in the face, but it's roughly the same TTK as the Scorcher, just harder to handle.
    Summary: It's an alternate mortar-ish version of the Scorcher. They both share most of the same strengths and weaknesses. Which means I have no desire to bring it vs bugs except MAYBE in egg missions, and it's generally worse than the Scorcher vs bots. That's a shame. If it closed nests and maybe had a bit more ammo, then I'd consider it vs bugs.

      This is a good summary. The game is actually very different in premade/coordinated group and in public solo matchmaking, so actually both sides can be correct with their takes depending on the way they play the game (so kinda sad to see so much unnecessary toxicity in the comments). I play vast majority of the time with friends on discord and we distribute strategems so that we cover everything as efficiently as possible, so we basically never take Arc Thrower since while it is a good weapon - its a jack of all trades, but master of none.

    Eagle Strikes of any kind have a limited number of uses per re-arm, which is about 2-3 minutes before you can use them again. The re-arm has no limit, so use Eagle Strikes to your heart's content! The only downside is that all of your Eagle Strikes are on a single re-arm cooldown, meaning that they all share the same re-arm CD. You either have to use the force re-arm stratagem when the one strike you need is used up, or you have to use all of the Eagle Strikes before they collectively go on the re-arm CD anyways.

    So glad you made this video.
    This is far from a viable load out for solo and definitely showcases that they need to balance the primary and supply weapons to make these weapons as viable as others.
    I hope they fix the short comings of these weapons so we can see weapon combos like this in the future so I dont feel like I have to pick the same weapons/strats everytime.

      The problem is, the devs don't give 2 shits about people wanting to be able to play the game solo, they think everything should be done in a 4 man group. On top of that, they think because so many people extract from missions, they must be too easy, when in reality, just like here, they are running in circles not killing a damn thing while waiting for the drop ship and extracting with 5000 mobs still up. If you're kiting everything around watching the clock to go down so you can get on a ship to avoid them altogether to complete the mission, that's not successful. It's tedious, unfun gameplay. Even in 4 player groups, the amount that spawns is so overwhelming that most of the time we're doing the same damn thing, running in circles on 7-9 just waiting for the extraction ship hoping no one dies with their samples. If you're spending your time watching a timer count down while running in circles kiting hordes of mobs instead of playing the game, because your primary/secondary can't do fuck all to the amount of enemies, all your stratagems are on cooldown and you're out of ammo with a support weapon(this is why i feel like arc thrower is mandatory) and there is still a zombie apocalypse-sized horde coming your way, it's tedious and unfun, not "compelling gameplay".

    I kinda feel like something is busted with the fire rate selector on the Stalwart. For example, it feels like both the lowest and highest setting will kill a spewer in the same amount of time when spraying the head (even when stationary, so you don't miss).
    Other than that, the instinct that it's better in a group seems broadly right. It's very accurate if you're sitting still crouching or prone, but good luck being able to do that consistently in a solo (or in a pub group where no-one coordinates, but they usually still make for decent distractions even then).

    on bots, i feel i can get use out of punisher plasma, but... on bugs? idk... if the splash could at least one shot hunters at close range, itd be a lot more usable. and if they added more shots to the mag, even if the mag total is dropped, it'd be nice, since the actual time to kill isn't *that* bad, but the ammo economy is.
    also, something i started doing on machine gun and stalwart on the occasions when i pull them out is hipfiring close bugs. their reticle speed is so slow, so hip fire mitigates some of it if youre good at hipfire accuracy. keep you moving a bit faster as well.

    Try putting stalwart on high rate of fire and also use it to kill chargers by hitting front leg as they turn after charge (it’s a bug armour doesn’t register), kills them in 2 seconds.

    Agreed on your sentiments for that gun. Doesn't really have anything for the solo player, or the player looking for loadouts without big holes.
    I've been stuck on Slugger / Redeemer / EAT since they nerfed the rail gun. Running rover instead of shield (on bugs) for some more help with the little irritating mobs.

    Against bugs I recently started running the jump pack over the shield because the extra mobility is mint to escape the hunters. I do like the PP but its definitely not meta since you need to use your support weapon just to clear the little guys. I think the arc thrower kills chargers about as fast and clears mobs like nobody's business so there is no real reason to use either the PP or the stalwart since the arc just outperforms both while it frees you up a slot for a slugger or a sickle. Balancing in this game makes me scratch my head tbh.

    Yep whoever told em Stall forgot to tell him to turn the RPM settings up on it. Same thing with the Machine Gun. The RPM with Machine Gun since it rattles armor a little more, is my personal more favored choice here and there. I know someone who played a pretty strong DPS game with just ye ol pack shield, machine gun on 900 RPM setting and use what feels good from there like a 500KG bomb from there.
    But I'm normally all about my Auto Cannon, Gatling or auto cannon sentry, mech, and Orbital Laser. and with it I like a spray and pray but more often my burning incendiary shotgun because even if you just lightly touch some gaps in their defense, it's doing a bit more burning here and there for armored targets while spray is likely faster for lights and clean shots.
    Some nice easy to use murder, a reasonably accurate long range option, and things to lay down like turrets to throw the sent of the enemy and defense. Turrets are a grand option to lead t hings away from you or slow them up as you gain them right off your trail.

    Stalwart is like an early entry arc thrower. You use it until you can get the grenade launcher/supply pack combo and then its never quite useful enough again. Plus the sickle just makes it look silly.

    Gotta agree. Hunters are more terrifying than Stalkers. Sure you can kill them with just a couple of shots of liberator, but you usually have to fight like 30 of em regularly, and once they pounce on you it's extremely hard to escape.

    Flamethrower is probably best for solo against the bugs, it deal with swarm of armored enemies really well, it kill charger pretty consistently if aim for the legs since it ignore armor.
    You just need a primary that can deal with Hunter and use Anti armor Strategem for Titan.

    12:46 "does this count as an objective?" no, its a point of interest aka map goodies. there are 5 types from the worst to best loot wise:
    -stash/looted stash. usually has some ammo maybe a non backpack sub-weapon and grenades. if looted version then empty.
    -graves. usually has a random non backpack sub-weapon and a common sample maybe some ammo.
    -pods that give off a golden beacon. to open go up to the pod press e it pops open. has only one goody can have non-backpack sub weapon, requisition slips, medal, super credits.
    -cargo crates usually buried in the ground under the POI houses. to open you need to pop them open with a grenade. has two goodies can have non-backpack sub weapon, requisition slips, medal, super credits.
    -vault usually in a crevasse cant really be noticed at a distance. to open you and another helldiver press the yellow buttons on either side of the door. has three goodies can have non-backpack sub weapon, requisition slips, medal, super credits.

    dude idk how you make Gas Strike work, I tried it today because I've seen you use it to amazing effect, and I dropped it on a bug breach on lvl 8 or 9 and I couldn't kill more than 5 bugs at a time, but when you use it casually you get 20+ in seconds. idk what I'm doing wrong but it doesnt kill anything

    Now this is amusing.
    A week or so ago I had a conversation with my all-time-premade about why, of all the support weapons, you should take the Stalwart.
    We concluded that there was no reason. It feels like primary weapon that occupies the support weapon slot.
    So I can only imagine that those praising the weapon are low to mid difficulty Andies.
    And don't get me wrong, the gun is fun to use if you find one randomly, no doubt, but it ain't good as a Support Weapon.

    I’m sure it’s been said already, but here’s a tip that works for me against hunters. Try to use sub machine gun pistol, it has insane dps and able to wipe to 3-4 of them per mag. Saved me lots of times, though of course it doesn’t work against swarms, but can save you if a few of them gotten too close.

    I had people on the official Helldivers discord telling me that Stalwart and Machine Gun are meta at the highest difficulties because of Hunters specifically. They were telling me I should be taking it over the Flamethrower even, which was wild to me. I could not believe what I was reading, but I had not tried it past difficulty 5, so I wasn't sure. With this video I'm certain they had to be trolling.

      Having used all of those in 7-9, and while the MG is good for medium armored targets, the flame thower AND arc thrower both outperform the "LMG" style guns in those difficulties. And they can both damage titans, and kill chargers, and the arc thrower can kill bile titans if you're really unlucky and out of stratagems/don't have an eat/RR available. It's not ideal, but the fact that it can do it makes it better by default. Takes a ton of shots, but it'll do it. MG/Stalwart will never do dmg to a titan no matter how many rounds you throw at it. Sure, they might bust the sacs, but it's going to chase you around the map, just like it does in this video, until you can do dmg with something else.

      The "heavy" lmg is very good in a coordinated team but horrible with randoms. Usually you have the MG player posted up somewhere on the highground with good sightlines so he's able to take out packs of trash mobs (specifically hunters) before they get close. Providing cover for the team doing the objective aswell. Like I said, only with a team though.

Yes, you have to be more careful not to team kill, but if we're talking coordinated teams, everyone wears the new arc resistant armor and all run arc throwers and watch the destruction begin. Not even bile titans can stand up to 4 arc throwers in its ass, the hordes of small mobs are no longer a threat, and if you need a little more to kill multiple titans/chargers you still have your eagles/orbitals available. MG/stalwart can't offer that kind of blanket coverage nor do they kill as fast, even with just 1 or 2 people running arc thrower. The smoothest groups I've been in are exactly that, all 4 of us with the new armor and arc thrower.

      @@SuperCatacata Sickle is meh. It's just another Liberator. Blitzer allows you for different loadouts since you always get a decent weapon to clear chaff. Just because weapon doesn't fit your personal style doesn't make it bad. It is same story with Jar-5. It is solid gun, just not for everyone. For example all them players from twitch shooters will hate how cumbersome it is. If you know how to use it, it is solid.

      @@Mithguar Agreed. I don't know why people are fawning over the sickle so much, it's very mediocre. It does half the damage the Redeemer can do in the same amount of time, and that's a secondary. Sure, it does heat damage, but that doesn't seem to do much, especially against bugs. The Scorcher outperforms it in every way, the Slugger, Punisher, AND all forms of the Breaker all do more damage and take less time to kill bigger targets. It's just a pea shooter like the other AR's that don't really have enough umph to be good enough to use. I actually really like the Punisher Plasma, it's mediocre at clearing groups/small mobs, but so are all primaries. But it takes care of spewers without wasting my grenades, it stuns/knockbacks targets so they're not able to rush you, and does it to more than one target if you aim at the group's feet instead of something's head. If you pair it with a good support weapon stratagem(i.e., MG or one of the thowers, arc or flame) it's a good CC weapon, which in the world of primaries being very lackluster, having something that can keep the enemies at bay for your group to dumpster on, ain't too bad in my book. And imo, paired with arc thrower, it's really pretty nice. Yes, Slugger can kill medium armor targets faster and break open crates(who cares), the Breaker lineup can do pretty good, and the incendiary I feel is quite underrated for bugs too, however. This gun actually fills a decent roll for a primary. CC on a weapon you always spawn in with is pretty dang good when the other options don't do INSANELY more damage making CC useless. Only thing I wish they'd do, is increase the mag size. It should have 12-15 shots imo. I think the damage is fine, it doesn't need Slugger damage, it just needs more shots per mag. Sorry for the wall, I just feel your frustration at the fanboy crap, lol.

      @@OhDough I'm with you on this. Gas Strike is my go to 'Instant count to bug breach' because it cuts down on what comes out so much and it mauls everything that survives. Paired with incendiary grenade (or two) on a breach it might as well not happen except for heavy armor popping up. (and even then chargers are mauled and Bile's hurt.) The cooldown is low enough it's actually there for a lot of breaches.
      Not used to using it on bots though.

    11:42 honestly thats fair. I hadnt considered it. This build is much better in teams. The plasma especially. Concentrated fire of multiple plasma punishers. annihilates groups of enemies. And the stalwart is the same way. Much better with a team to cover your weaknesses. The stalwart used to be much better before it was indirectly nerfed by all the ai changes.

    11:15 - Sorta? I hype the stalwart but i just like 1100+rpm BRRT and i use it to shred the higher hunter count we have now. I also don't bring it to randoms cause i know i'd get kicked.
    That said, i won't bring the Stalwart on higher difficulties unless i've got the slugger to deal with Hive Guards/Brood Commanders, along with Rail cannon so i can at least KINDA help with Bile Titans or an unfortunately timed Charger. I only really use it in premades like you said.

    I get why people take stalwart, but I also dont, MG can ACTUALLY deal with hive guards and the armored bile spewers. plus with the reduction in the amount of chargers if you're good at dodging and kiting you can take out a charger's ass without something like an EAT or recoilless, it'll take a decent bit but you dont have to use your stratagems or rely on teammates then. MG is just better than stal imo even with the reload and recoil downsides (not even an issue, I can walk and shoot and still hit my targets it's just a bit harder)

    19:30 If you play a team game like CSGO or League of legends you should expect to work with your team to have better success.
    Same applies to if you buy a CO-OPERATIVE horde shooter. Like no shit you gotta work together.
    That said even in a team setting the plasma punisher is useless, you arent bringing a primary specifically to kill eggs.
    Stalwark is fine though, theres so many ways in a team to kill heavies that having someone with a ton of anti-horde clear without blowing a stratagem is nice, especially when paired with a sickle so you can shoot constantly swapping back and forth for over full min is really nice.
    Although since theres a lot of anti-horde weapon spawns at PoI's like you can find MG's, Stalwarks, Arc throwers - unless its a mission with no PoI's its probably worth taking an extra stratagem instead.

    Not sure if you knew this or not, but playing with a mic on is like playing with friends. Also, the helldivers discord has LFG channels to play with people, that have mics. The stalwart is better than the machine gun and that's about as far as it goes. Not used the plasma whatever but it looks cool. Personally, i don't like the magazine based weapons, single shell loads are more efficient. Specially since you can reload as you shoot so its like you never stop shooting. Slugger is pretty good just switched to that bc it ruins hunters and that has become a pass-time for me. My go to load-out is orbital burst for clearing bug holes/ orbital laser for heavys/ Auto cannon for mid bugs and bug holes/ Gatling turret for when i'm feeling like staying put, usually at extract. I normally run challenging just to spam medals and samples but, if i'm doing higher difficulty ill switch the turret for mortar and orbital laser for orbital rail cannon. Hope this helps for anybody, new or just trying something different

      One more thing about the slugger, it shoots right through the armored guards, and the warriors heads disappear, as well as 2-3 shots to the head for bigger brutes, the red ones.

    I feel like with the Sickle being as OP as it is while the rest of the weps on the Cutting Edge Warbond are either meh (Blitzer and Dagger) or just bad (Punisher Plasma lol) that Arrowhead probably railroaded the warbond out without giving the guns much time in the QA department. Also I have no clue how the Localization Confusion Booster is supposed to work. The booster doesn't seem to decrease the spawn rate of patrols, or increase the time between bot drops/bug breaches.
    My guess is that Arrowhead is trying to push out content at a faster pace than originally planned, since they didn't expect the game to be as popular as it is.

      It likly very slightly reduces the spawn timer for new patrols. When i remember correctly your initial spawn timer depends on number of players and dif lvl and is between 4 and 6min. When you JUST complete the main objective it goes to 1min.

    I hype stalwart. Turn up the fire rate. Use guard dog to cover your reload. Orbital strike and orbital laser for heavies. Plas scorcher for chargers butts and titans bellies.

    Why stalwart, when you can run low RPM Machine gun?
    Additionally, Sickle struggles with literally anything beyond low armor. It's not getting nerfed into the ground. If anything, they MIGHT make it heat up faster.

    I only like the stalwart cause of how it looks, so if i’m running lower levels i’ll use it, but higher levels i’ll use the machine gun gun, but i couple the stalwart with the slugger
    But i think they should make the stalwart a primary weapon instead of a special weapon and give us a handheld gatling gun with an ammo pack in its place

    New Armor with the arc perk on it and have 4 people with that on and arc throwers 2 with 500kg and 2 with railcannon and its the most OP loadlout in the game

    When running Stall or machine gun builds, if you're going for that sweet DPS, don't forget to crank your bullet RPM up by holding the reload and toggling it up. Not sure but I dont think he did it in this video. 🏴‍☠

      Also, I want to take this time to remind players that if you're using a gun that threatens to blow you backwards, consider the fact you can USE that. Think of the days of ROCKET JUMP. It may not work to grand levels up, but if you leap backwards, fire, and take some of your blow back, it can be quite a gamble, but a life saving skill move. I use it more often than not to some decent effect with the Auto cannon.
      While practice doesn't make perfect, it will often make you a well versed bad ass in the right circumstances. 🏴‍☠

    Stalwart is amazing for hunters in particular if you set it to 1100rpm - you're using the noob fire rate. Anyways, I have a question I would like to ask that I think only you would be the type to be observant enough to answer for me:
    *How can you tell before diving down into a mission if there are any bile spewers in the map?*

    Arc shotty + flash nades + autopistol + autocannon + mech + 500kg of freedom + 1 mix n match strategem + engineer armor = 6 flash nades, armor destruction, grouped mob mower, egg sniper, nest sniper, mech support for survival for 1 objective n 1 extract attempt

    this weapon is close to been good but as it stand its kinda meh. either they increase overall ammo and magazing or make it hit harder. also its really dumb the supplies only give you half of your total ammo.

    Laser guard dog the hunters are usually not a problem most of the time on higher difficulty I only have to take out 2 that make it close to me

      Teammates aren't a problem for long either. People complain about mortar TKs, but I swear to god I'm a magnet to those drone beams.

    Love the hunter at 4:03 headshotting you through your shield pack. Really wish stratagems would stop going from being okay but skillful depending on your use of resources to pure gamba on if they work or not.
    It feels like with every passing day and update the game becomes more unstable, more glitchy, more inconsistent, worse off. It just feels different and off and not for the better in terms of overall enjoyment.
    Also, the more range for the plas-punisher is made up. They're based off of how the explosion 'decal' looks because it looks bigger at a distance. It's not as far as I have seen. Could just be the people getting airburst hits from hitting the top of an enemy and spreading more damage within the same size AOE.

      I'd be okay if they removed the shield backpack and just made the 1 shots from automatons reduced to tanks and reduce the overall headshot damage in the game by at least half.

      @@OhDough I agree with that honestly. Rocket Devastators have been the bane of me wanting to play against Bots. Rocket raiders can be annoying but eh. The devastators just infinitely track you through walls and pre-fire you the moment you leave cover. That and remove Hunter slow+DoT if they want to remove shield pack.
      I haven't used the shield pack in ages, even before the nerf. Seeing people run it makes me wonder if I should go back to it, but it feels like a misuse of stratagems on most missions.

      Alternatively, buff head armor with their own separate armor ratings for light, medium, and heavy, and give them their own passives, some of which would be to reduce headshot damage.

      @@Metrikon9000 From what I have read the devs likely thought about doing that as two helmets on launch actually changed stats to your main armor (one of which was stamina and speed being increased). I imagine they didn't because it would add too much build complexity or some other gaming jargon nonsense a dev could think of as to why they wouldn't put the effort in.
      I would prefer helmets to just be tied with whatever the main stat of your body's armor was because it keeps the dev's simplistic vision but doesn't make helmets just useless fluff imo.

    I dunno man, I adore the Stalwart and use it to great effect in Helldives against bugs; it is hands down the best weapon for dealing with large swarms of hunters, currently one of the most deadly enemies in the entire game. People always appreciate getting hunters peeled off them by the stalwart guy from across the way. I can see how if you're a solo player it wouldn't appeal since you give up the "I can kill everything decently" aspect of a loadout in order to be exceptional at chaff clear. That being said, something you could have done to give you an easier time with this mission would be to just drop the shield pack and gas strike, those were wasted picks. Bring EATs and Railcannon strike or an Exosuit; it's pretty clear that your main issue was dealing with the Bile titans/chargers chasing you forever, with them out of the way everything else is fodder for the Stalwart and Punisher.

    i cant say it's the right pick, but after using stalwart in Dif9 for a while, it doesnt feel like a THROW pick, but i have to ask myself: "why wouldnt i just use the guard dog?"
    stalwart/MG are way more fun, so i'll continue using them regardless

    Stalwart should have been a primary weapon (with adjustments), that way we have LMG primaries like in Helldivers 1.
