- I did it! My first 110KM race in Croatia. Working hard and training all this time really paid off this weekend! Check out everything that has happened this weekend in April 2023. In the end we even met one of the greatest trail runners of all time! :)
If you only want to see race day, skip to minute 4:30. In the beginning we drive to Umag, Croatia (from Salzburg), go to the Expo and check-into our hotel.
Overall, it was a fantastic event! Great organization and execution!

Watching this month after the race and i must say i got a little bit emotional seeing you crossing the finish line. I ran my first ultra that day(green course) and i kinda know what it takes to win that kind of battle. Although my race was 42km shorter 😅 I can only imagine how difficult it was on your distance. Congrats man. Respect👏🏻👏🏻

Congratulations well done, and very impressive on taking on the challenge of a 110km…I’m just begging to step outside my comfort zone distances of 50km and some 65km looking at 75km or an upcoming 119km this fall…Also do tell what are your thoughts now on the tecton x after this race.

The Tecton X 2 were very good. The grip on the mud wasn’t too good. It was raining a lot in Istria and maybe a shoe with longer lugs MIGHT have been better. ( like the Mafate Speed 4 ) Otherwise the energy return on the flat surfaces was nice. It was ok on the downhills.
But they got me through the day, which I’m really happy about :))

Thanks a lot :) The Tecton X 2 did well. I would have liked to have shoes with a little bit more cushioning towards the end of the race. Otherwise they were great.
Do you get more info when you register? Im thinking about this race but dont see a lot of details. Closest international Airport, are there hotels they work with. Can you get a bus from airport to Umag? Once in Umag is it all within walking distance? Thanks
Hey! Yes you will get more info when you register. There are hotels that work with the race and you even get discounts for the room and a shuttle service is available.
How to get there via plane/airport I don’t know. I drive there from where I live . Maybe write the race organizers…?
