The narration for TCM2 is clearly the most ominous and unsettling, it builds a momentous feel like going up a roller coaster; you dread what will follow. That grizzled rich voice perfectly conveys the tone of the movie. That was the voice of Brad Crandall, he imparted many films with elements of menace with his foreboding narration.
It is amazing that these intense introductions set up the upcoming stories. The 1st and the 2nd ones are gripping. John Larroquette did great on the original and the remake.
Based on the narrations of 2-4, each of them are their own sequel to the first one! - TCM3 completely skips over TCM2! - TCM4 completely skips over both TCM2 & TCM3 (but gave them a little nod as "at least two minor, yet apparently related incidents, were reported")!
+Crimson Dragon well didn't know about gunner not being in it but yes you had John siedow plus Edwin Neal had the metal plate in his head and of course grandfather John Dugan.
That's wrong. Plate head was Bill Moseley, not Edwin Neal, and Grandpa was Ken Evert, not John Dugan. Jim Siedow was indeed the only actor from the original to appear in the sequel. It was in Texas Chainsaw 3D that John Dugan reprised the role of Grandpa.
+athull08 hell your right I checked it out it was bill Moseley hell on part 2 he looked like Edwin and sounded like him behind that makeup and the plate in his head supposly from the first when he got hit by the truck
I love every single one of these. Laroquette's the king! But part 2 and 3 are really kind of freaky with the ambient background noise/music. Part 4 has that cool Walter Kronkite vibe.
The Part 2 narration never made sense. The farmhouse was directly behind Sally's grandfather's house. It should've taken them a few hours to track down the property records, look at a map, and track it down. Added to which, the guy who picked her up could probably have told them where the house was: that road seemed to be pretty busy at sunrise.
Also what the first truck driver (who ran over the hitchhiker). He stopped his truck to try to help Sally. He hit Leatherface in the face with a wrench and ran down the highway (leaving his truck behind). What About Him?
"The events of that day were to lead to the discovery of one of the most bizarre crimes in the annals of American history. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
The third movie should’ve focused on how the heck the Sawyer farmhouse disappeared for now Police to find it. Heck, I’d just love a film about the Investigators.
COOL video with the various narration intros combined from all the TEXAS CHAINSAW FRANCHISE SERIES all wrapped into one big summary.. to sum up the whole backstory of the movie sequels!!!.. just one thing though u should include the. Intro narration to the 2003 remake.. only cause its done andnarrated by the original narrator guy from the first 2 chainsaw movies .. Mr. John larroquette who did the original 1973 intro from the original 1rst chainsaw movie
1 of those spooky ass voices belongs to John Laroquette! That guy's voice is pretty scary! The BEST 1 of these is at tha very end of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning! John Laroquette's narration at tha end of that movie is STILL BONE CHILLING TODAY! 😱😱😱
The first one is the best. I'm not saying this because it's the original but the narrator's voice is firm and convincing. It tells a tale without goint too much into details but it's not too subtle. The second one is kinda lackluster. The ending sounds like a rambling and it goes too much into details. But the whole speech is saved by the narrator's voice and the "windows in Hell" -part. So I still like it. The third one is nor good or bad. Kinda average and honestly forgettable. You'd wish the narrator would just move on. Pretty boring, I must say. The last one is nothing special really. Kinda makes me sleepy because the narrator's manner of speaking. But I have to give credit for it being mysterious. Like "what the hell is happening?" In a positive way, I mean.
The first one is still the best. While the other three opening crawls aren’t bad (if slightly contradictory), the first one gives more the aura of a low-budget seventies Documentary (which the movie kind of was) whereas the other three come off more as someone trying to recreate a low-budget seventies Documentary. It might just be the tone of John Larroquette sounding like a stock-narrator, it might also be why I actually like the remake’s opening, at least as a short film, and how the film comes back to it by the end, which I don’t think any of the other movies did.
They are contradictory because the films all follow on from the original but ignore each other. They are alternatives to each other, not one continuous saga.
@@jackcarter5101 the only thing that really contradicts that is the line “Two minor but apparently related incidents”. Personally my favourite canon is the first one and the second one
@@jackcarter5101 admittedly, that film did see Kim Henkel returning, but it seems most of the films (remakes not withstanding) have been seen as the ‘true sequel’, at least until Texas Chainsaw 3D. Then there was the prequel and now Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022). 1) Think of better titles 2) Most of these films are terrible
Damn, it just kept getting worse for Sally, didn’t it. First there was the original movie, then she sank into Catalonia, then she died four years later.
Thanks to the internet, it is easy to find out that these stories are fake. When the first movie was made, people could have thought it was real and never found out it was fake.
The original 1974 movie is one of the best horror films of all time.
bcing75 yes it is it will go down in the annals of American history
bcing75 like it says it will be in the annals of American history
Agreed
It was so unique and strange, definitely a classic

oh shit he did the remake too?! I thought that was him!
@JaceD4V1S88 I was surprised, too. He definitely had the tone for it.
1:50 love this speech especially with the music in the background

the narrator for next generation was pretty bad the one for 3 was ok but the narrators for the first two were the best.
Yeah messes me up as john larquette of night court fame is the original guy
Always thought the first one and second one was the best
+Crimson Dragon yes I know it was different from the original but it still had the original actors in it and wasn't computerized like today's shit
+Crimson Dragon well didn't know about gunner not being in it but yes you had John siedow plus Edwin Neal had the metal plate in his head and of course grandfather John Dugan.
They weren't willing to pay him what he asked for. And he was only asking for a little above scale.

Never heard of a corrupt southern sheriff? Probably a cover up.
If that's your biggest complaint about Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, then you need to watch the movie again
Theomite still a good narration though
Maybe because sally was so mentally Shaken she was babbling on and on and couldn’t tell them exactly where the house was
Also what the first truck driver (who ran over the hitchhiker). He stopped his truck to try to help Sally. He hit Leatherface in the face with a wrench and ran down the highway (leaving his truck behind). What About Him?
part 2 is my favorite opening
My favorite is "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre II".
"The events of that day were to lead to the discovery of one of the most bizarre crimes in the annals of American history. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
The first film and it’s sequel are both definitely the best.
john larroquette (TV series Night Court ) did the narration intro in the 1st one
Anyone ever notice how the van that the kids rode in for the first film was a Ford Econoline and not a Volkswagen like the second crawl states?
Dane Sears still a good narration
Thank you for the upload!!! TCM is a true legend!!!
thanks for the upload
I hate how in the 3rd one they said Sally Hardesty died. She was a survivor!
Never really seen part 4, but my favorite intro narration is the second.
The original is an all time classic. Parts 2 and 3 were good but the rest in the series suck and just got worse and worse!
The third movie should’ve focused on how the heck the Sawyer farmhouse disappeared for now Police to find it. Heck, I’d just love a film about the Investigators.
"The Saw Is Family"

The second narrator sounded like Lorne Greene. It's the best speech so far. I wonder whose voice that belongs to?
“What follows is the fabled lost pilot to Clerks...”
Nice! Thanks for the upload!
0:54 Volkswagen 💀💀💀💀
In the original movie they drove a Ford van, not a Volkswagen van.
1:46 (add violent metal riffs)

I think Jeff Burr voiced #3
“It has no end”
Got that right, weird disembodied voice.
How come the Texas officers could not locate the orignal farmhouse.
Continuity in this franchise is great fun. Every one of these contradicts the other haha!
Description error: I believe the original tmc was made in 1974.
Angela Baker it was made in 1973 but didn't come out until 1974. But yeah it's a 1974 film.
Great
Who was w.e Sawyer?
Drayton Sawyer, the cook. It was his name in the TCM III timeline.
81 / 82 TCPO 1992/2023
Mortician - Chainsaw dismemberemnt
There all good; except for the last.
The events that day lead which lead to one of the bizzard crimes in the Adeles of American history THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
Trapeze in my own mind
Yes but I want to know what Sally died of
Speeches?
I saw that
