Excellent piece, dude! Rydia has always been one of my favorite protagonists of the FF series. Her introduction is the death of her only parent, and over the course of the game she gains more character development than anyone else in any other FF title. She forgives her mother's murderer, she overcomes her fear of fire which was also brought about by her mother's murderer, she survives being tossed overboard and into the ocean, and manages to befriend the most powerful monsters in the known solar system. But before that, she's the only character (while still a child!) after yet another terrible tragedy to slap all the adult men in the back of the head and say "Hey, it's not time to lose hope yet. We can still do this!"
Rydia shows more tenacity, strength, fortitude, perseverance and just plain growth than anyone else in any other Square title and I challenge anyone to prove me otherwise.
Also, have you considered diving into some of the tracks from Final Fantasy Legend 2 for the next projects? It has an amazing final boss theme, as well as several excellent tracks from the Intro, to Burning Blood, to even just the Overworld theme.
not to rain on your parade, but...
While she is introduced in a unique and memorable way, her character development is basic.
oversimplified, it goes like this:
"NO FIRE"
"but sweetie, there just so happens to be a giant piece of ice in our way."
"FIRE BAD"
"please?"
"ok"
don't get me wrong, she's still a great character in a great game, but it wasn't the most fleshed out in terms of story.
Not on the same level as Rydia, but Edward grew some balls of steel between Final Fantasy IV and The After Years.

My counter-argument to this:
1. Rydia is the only other character besides Cecil to go through a physical and mental change.
2. If she had truly perished, Cecil would have died at the hands of his brother, Golbez.
3. There's no official story of what happened to her between the time that Cecil ended up in Mysidia alone and when he went into the Underworld - she spent over a decade in the Feymarch training much how Vegeta/Trunks and Goku/Gohan did in the hyperbolic time chamber in Dragon Ball Z.
4. If you had paid attention to the ending and what she said to the young monster who questioned "Why don't you have fangs like us, why are you different" she responded "Nonsense! There is no difference between us. What matters more is what's on the inside, not the outside, Right Cecil?" This speaks volumes - she grew up learning to fear monsters/fire, but eventually learned that it's just a part of nature, and besides, how would she have learned to overcome and summon Ifrit? That's a tale that has not been told.
She had probably the best growth of the group other than Cecil since it was mainly about his journey. Her story is definitely expanded in the PSP exclusive Interlude and The After Years, since a lot of what happened to make the FF4 into a world of ruin was caused by the Eidolons and the Maenads controlling them who had similar powers and appearance to Rydia. Some people may even believe this is her true race since she's not exactly human, but is of the summoner race. There's no back story on how the progenitors of the Mist village came to be, we're just given that she was the last surviving member of her clan, and at the end of the After Years, Cuore is also in a similar situation, and she adopts her.
Rydia had quite the wild ride through the plot of FF4. I adore this and how it represents her resilience and willingness to press onward in spite of all she lost.

Oh yes! In 7th grade, I met a young woman who had green hair (not by her doing), and I immediately fell in love with her. She was my Rydia, and I was her Edge (in my mind). Nevertheless, because of my lack of self-confidence, I ended up more like that spoony bard and lost her to one who one who was truly worth of her.
Same as me, maybe it's the first time I felt in love with a character
beautiful so good, nowadays Final Fantasy doesn't have strong and moving stories like before

First time through is nice, second time through was pure amazement. I do hope that I get to hear your arrangement of Mt. Ordeals at some point. That was one of my favorite pieces when I was a kid and the nostalgia factor would be at an 11 for me.
I'm limiting myself to only 15 of the 44 FF4 tracks and unfortunately Mt. Ordeals didn't make the cut. The good news is that I'll have the remaining four tracks finished fairly soon.

Yes, I'm currently finishing up an FF4 album which will have 15 tracks in total. The remaining four tracks will be Battle Theme, The Lunarians, Within the Giant, and Final Battle. I'm also updating most of the older tracks.

Did you add in the player's breathing or is that a part of the sample? It's a nice touch haha.
I manually added in breathing samples from a different library. The flute samples themselves don't contain any breathing noises.
