Hey Kaelyn! I am a community college transfer student who transferred to Columbia last year and just wanted to say that your videos have always been an inspiration to me, thank you for showing us your life, dedicaitons, and drives!!!
I swear you are my she-ro. You get more done than anybody I know. With the traveling, etc., and you still do quality work. I'm taking notes!
I love the addition of the new vlog camera.
Your natural hair is GORGEOUS
I love your channel! :). Please consider doing a quick "desk tour" video. I would love to hear about your computer, desk, chair and notebook recommendations!
Thanks for the idea!
Here for the aesthetic vlog and NYC vibes. Dying laughing at Katie’s hand gesture commentary at the end 😂😂😂
The new vlog camera makes beautiful footage ! So crisp and clean much better then iPhone
Thank you so much for the feedback! I am really loving it
Hi! A PhD student from India here. Your vlogs are so inspiring. I have been following your videos for little over a year now and it has improved my academic life exponentially.
Oh my goodness, that makes me so happy :)
Aaah, my favorite city in the US! I went to art school there before moving to studying history, and I've never been anywhere in the States that I've felt more "at home". You can't throw a rock anywhere in the city without hitting a museum, it's SO good! I'm trying to psych myself up for my research trip to London and Manchester at the end of the month, so I'm going back through your Dissertation Diaries series, and I'm getting hyped!
Ah I am so excited to hear about your research trip!!!
@@KaelynGraceApple I'm so wound up! One of my professors (who focuses on modern British history) said that I'm "jumping into the deep end" by making the UK National Archives my first real archive trip, but she also thinks I'll be addicted after the first couple of hours. I'm super excited about the People's History Museum in Manchester, though, it'll be really nice to be able to talk about all the various sociological facets of the 1926 General Strike with people who are really into it, I'm fairly certain my family hears far more about it than they'd like!
Absolutely loved the footage!! Seems like a great vlogging camera!!! And nice video❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Your mom is STUNNING! Now we know where you get it from. :)
She is so beautiful and strong
I love the footage!! Is this the dji small camera?

I hope so too!
hope your chapter conference went well Kaelyn!! 🤍
Thank you!!
Glad to see you in our "neck of the woods" in NYC 👍
Haha that's call reacculturation! I felt the same way when I moved back from Germany and it was weird hearing English again!
What a great way to read a book at a beautiful park 🍃
It really is!
@@KaelynGraceApple loved walking the park while visiting New York
Is "May 14th" at 0:13 seconds true?
But your sophisticated videos are really nice
Nope that was an editing mistake 🥲 it’s meant to say 5:00 am New York time
Welcome to nyc! Hope you're enjoying the city. Wanted to ask about Katie's channel - the link doesn't seem to be working?
Of strange! Her channel is under Katherine Ibsen
I feel like there’s this new rush of energy in New York City. Either it’s that or dread.
Omg.. I thought that was a picture of you at 3:58 😂
hahah there are ocassions when I am reminded that I do, in fact, look like my mother

👌🏼
What new vlog camera are you using ?
shopstyle.it/l/cbeEL Osmo Pocket :)
I apologize if this has been addressed, but I would like to know how you are taking notes. Is it digital or analog? Do you use notecards or notebooks? Thank you.
Check out my how to read and take notes video!
Omg wait you're Asian? Your family is so cute 🫶🏽🫶🏽. I'm surprised you study African American studies instead of Asian American studies, what made you go this direction?
Haha yes! My grandmother is Chinese and immigrated from Taiwan as a kid :) I strongly considered it actually! I was either going to study early American or motherhood and the cultural revolution in China but ultimately chose af am because of the political climate in the US and feeling like it was important for me to learn and teach the history of slavery in the Atlantic world and to engage with black feminist thought ♥️ I’m happy with my choice but I will always have an interest in Chinese social history as well :)
