Moo for sure needs her own PhD. She's very adorable and glad she's feeling better.
The summing up of your thoughts at the end was so needed. Well done 👏🏽
Thank you!!
thanks for the video! I am a first-year PhD student at UCL, and I have been beating myself up over reading outside of my research area, even if I am reading fiction on the tube. it feels good to see someone reading different kinds of literature and talking about the counter-influences
I started doing this a couple of weeks ago without know she did it too. I wanted to get inspiration from some of my favorite historians to liven up my mind and prose. I started reading The Poppy Wars a couple of months ago but I got distracted by my article and Phd applications. And congratulations on 100K! :)
Very inspiring video ❤ I relate so much to the need of reading novels within my research journey. Thanks for your vlog, it makes me feel less lonely in my phd
Love this video and this routine.
Just a friendly comment- I thought the change in audio levels was a bit too dramatic. I listen on headphones and I had to turn the sound up to hear you speak but when it went back to music, it was really loud. I love your videos when I am doing data entry and other tasks, and this has never been an issue before. Just wanted to let you know.
Overall, thanks for the great content.
Thank you for the feedback!

I love Tiya Miles! Such a great book!
One of my favorite finds from studying for comprehensive exams
Loveeeeloveeeloveee !
I love this? Is there a video where Rebecca talks about her routine??
I love this. Not a question. 🤣
Just an article interview

Not going to lie I found your videos because of Moo- so I'm a little more vested in his life :D
What are those lights on the back or your monitor? What are they called? You don't like a desk lamp to see your book?
Incredible video. I just want to know as i am currently a masters student in University of Delhi, India and i am so pro-procastinator that i seriously can't able to read academic articles and lengthy books. Please suggest something that I can adapt?
😘😘😘😘
I liked remembering those times when I’d be one of the few people attending class and then living on a prayer by whooshing through large pieces of text.
Hi Kaelyn! I just want to say that your videos are my inspiration to finish my major :). They are always so entreating and well structure that they help me in the moments I feel down in my own writing process. Academics like you are the onces that the world needs.
🥺 this warms my heart! Thank you so much for your kind words. I love creating these videos :)
Idk what you’ve been doing recently but your hair has been looking SO GOOD you are so gorgeous and talented! Excited to watch the video!
I’ve heard of these Writing Routine videos (there’s one on Virginia Woolf) but I’m too scared to learn about them.
My brain can make the most fun thing so boring in a matter of days.
I love getting to test new routines and see which elements of each improves my process and which might not work for me
Nice to know Moo got their own segment dedicated to them.
You've probably thought of this already, but it sounds like the reverse of Rebecca's writing routine would work best for you. That is to read in the afternoon or evening, mull over it overnight, then write in the morning.
Thank you for a great video.
That’s an excellent idea!!!
Yes! I'm here for Moo haha sorry kaelyn. i like you but i love that pupper
haha I understand
I love videos like this and love RF Kuang - thanks for bringing her method to life! I think it's amazing when people are able to read and write so much. I recently finished Let Us Descend by Jesmyn Ward - have you read that one yet? Ward is such a fabulous writer. In this one, she shows the literal hell of slavery and we follow a young woman who claims her freedom despite the odds. It was incredible.
5 out of 7 days a week are potato days for me lol. I am working on a psychology manuscript on asexual mental health and subjective wellbeing, working on a creative writing project for Nanowrimo, and applying for PhD programs. Also, I love Rebecca Kuang! Her books are briliant.
Every writer must pet their dog during writing, it is a must
Warren Buffet reads about 4 to 6 hours per day. The process informs his investment and finance and business decisions.
Good for him :)
Hi Kaelyn, love your videos, they are very helpful and inspiring. Congrats on the 100k!!💕
Can I ask what writing group are you consulting for the reviewing process?
A working group at Yale :)
Moo ❤❤❤
so so proud of you reaching 100k. well deserved and it will only dramatically increase from here! you crossed the threshold.
thank you so much for the wonderful vid (as usual). on a completely tangential note-- your hair is so unbelievably gorgeous. What's your secret? Rosemary oil? Magic?
Congrats on reaching 100k! I've been subscriber since you had small digits! Amazing content! 🤗💫👏
Congratulations on the 100k subscribers ❤ i have subscribed to your channel for a while but i am more like a silent viewer. Love all of your videos ❤
Por lo poco que entiendo el ingle no puedo disfrutar tus contenidos como es debido, pero me encanta el contexto, exitos!!!!
Thank you for sharing. I always wait for you to post for us ❤ and I wish you all the best with your dissertation.
Are you not using Reference software like Zotero? It will save you tons and tons of time!
I used to but I didn’t find it useful. This system works for me
@@KaelynGraceApple Are you manually typing your footnotes/references/bibliography?
@@globescape4771 Yes, it is what I have done since I was in undergrad and while I have tried a reference management software, I do not find them to significantly reduce the tediousness of the process and have opted to just do them myself :)
@@KaelynGraceApple I went through my entire coursework phase, field exam papers, and proposal phase, manually typing my footnotes and bibliography. It was not until I started writing my chapters that I used Zotero. I'm kicking myself why I didn't start using it earlier. None of my profs ever mentioned that such reference software even existed. I learned about it by following other academicians on social media.
yay! 🥳
Haven't watched this one yet, but congrats on hitting 100K. You've come a long way since I first started watching your Oxford MSt vlogs. :)
Thank you!!! I’m so thrilled 🥰🥰🥰
Congratulations on reaching 100K, Kaelyn!! Cheers!! 🥳
Thank you!!!!
getting published is so daunting, wishing you the best of luck! I'm about to submit something myself.
Thank you!!! Fingers crossed for you!
