  • From years of experience, technology is always changing. The way you were used to doing things might not be the way it will work in the present.
This video will show you how to use your HP Multi Function Printer to scan and send the scanned image to your gmail.

    Thank goodness for you.
If anyone still has any issues, I reset my 2FA, deleted the outgoing email account I had already, and created an entirely new app password

Thank you for this recommendation. Once I deleted and started over it worked!

Excellent video. This needs to have more views because this walkthrough is more clear than any other video I've seen regarding SMTP configuration. Thank you Chris!

I followed the steps but when I click on Save and Test, the printer Web UI returns an error message that "SMTP email authentication required. Check your username/password and try again." When I disable MFA and enter my old password, that still works, however, when I re-enable MFA, generate a new App password, and enter it, I again get the above error. What am I missing?

did it exactly like that, getting an error message "Cannot resolve the SMTP server.
Check the SMTP and DNS server
    settings with your system
    administrator or Internet Service
    Provider.

What is your DNS IP set to? Did you set a static IP or is it set to DHCP "automatically get IP"

If you’ve set up 2-Step Verification but can’t find the option to add an app password, it might be because:
Your Google Account has 2-Step Verification set up only for security keys.
You’re logged into a work, school, or another organization account.
Your Google Account has Advanced Protection.
Tip: Usually, you’ll need to enter an app password once per app or device.
      What's the solution?
