You answered my questions quickly and easily. Thanks for no loud obnoxious music, noise, silly production type introductions and 20 minutes of blah blah blah. Ha ha!!
exactly!!! I bought one of those 16€ AliExpress soldering irons with temp control and display, It works just as well as the "Professional stuff". It heats it, and you can adjust it. there is nothing special about it.
Ben, Yes using an iron that is not temperature controlled is a quick way to apply to much heat and either lift a trace, burn a board, or even fry other components that are close by.
Are there cheap soldering irons that pretend to be temperature controlled? I have a cheap one (without a station) that has a temperature dial in Celsius on it. I however suspect it's not temperature controlled at all.
There absolutely can be. Due to a couple of things, If the station does not have enough wattage then it may not be able to hold a temperature well, or if the components in the iron / Station its self are cheaper they may not work properly. Great question thank you
I see in your video a Mexican brand station soldering named " steren " So. In you own opinion do you recommend this brand ? Because I want to switch from a soldering iron to a ( entry level) and reliable soldering station .
Hi. I have both but I'd say I upgraded my butane powered Iroda (can do torch, hot knife and heat gun as well) with the amazing KSGER T12 and bought the 10 piece tips for it and is now my other new favorite (alongside the digital caliper, all metal, the first 100% all metal, digital caliper, by General). Thankyou for this explanation. So for circuit boards I guess the soldering station is a must as the old iron could be problematic.

I am using a fan regulator in series.

Thanks for the info. If I wanted to solder two pieces of 8 gauge copper wire together, what would you recomend?
Would it be ok for board repair
Can you compare digital soldering iron VS Station
