One thing about Geoff Castellucci's covers are that they breathe new life into classic songs. Voiceplay is the same way. There are several songs I have never listened to that I looked up just to see what the original sounded like. They have expanded my musical horizons. Great reaction
There's so much beautiful soul and longing in this version of the song and in his voice. Also notice, the house is pretty much empty, giving the impression she has either passed away, or left him and taken most of the stuff with her. Geoff is an absolute Master, making this song his own, and owning it in 2022!
I saw Bill Withers in person at UF as the lead for Blood, Sweat and Tears. Have always had a sweet spot for this song and SO happy to hear Geoff do this, although he is sounding like a broken-hearted man which is the thrust of the song that Bill Withers sang.
There has to come a point when I stop saying he's raised the bar/outdone himself... again! But it certainly isn't yet! This was beautifully arranged, sung, acted and videoed. I'm awestruck... again! I bless him for bringing a little more sunshine to my life! Great reaction as always, thank you! 😥🙂👍
I love that instead of a drop, he stays in that low low register for a line or two. The high and low together are so good. And the acting!! He looks so tragic😢
I've heard this song Geoff castellucci sings this great he is amazing bass singer just a awesome singer he does a great job on this song Geoff is amazing love his bass low notes awesome
Phenomenal performance. This Friday has been busy in a good way.😁 First I watched Peter Hollens' new cover, "The Book Of Boba Fett" theme. They should use it for season 2, in my opinion. Then BYU Vocal Point announced that their cover of "We Don't Talk About Bruno" with One Voice Children's Choir and the actress who voiced Delores in Encanto, I forget her name, got over one million views in the first week. And third I saw a reaction to a Mitch Vocal Range video, he has a much bigger range than I thought, including some very low subharmonics.
Happy Easter to you and your family. Geoff outdid himself on this beautifully arranged cover. Love his low surprised but I really loved his mid range lovely voice in this.
The only thing, that could be possibly better, than Geoff Castelucci singing, Ain't no sunshine when she's gone, is 4 Geoff Castelucci's singing Ain't no sunshine, when she's gone 😍
Great reaction, as usual. FYI-Geoff doesn't make his solo work a capella, he sorta has a non-compete thing for himself so his solo songs don't take anything away from VoicePlay's productions. You'll notice he has at least light instrumentation (piano, guitar, drums, etc) in all his songs, though he will drop all accompaniment for effect and showcase the harmony for a few stanzas (think God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen). Love his choices in this arrangement, he kept the feeling of lost because she left, but brought a modern feel to it. This went to the top of my playlist already. ♥️
I never really cared for the original version of this song(too monotone) But i LOVE this version!! Geoff always knows how to breathe new life into the old classics & is why he’s my favorite Bass HUGE CONGRATS ON HITTING 100k SUBS!!!!😊❤️Much love to the fam!
Lmao hearing the “Geoff Castellucci, Mr. Bassmaster3000” never gets old :) Great reaction to a great song. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard the original song or not, but if I have I definitely don’t remember it.
I think your next one should be Sam Ryder- spaceman. The fact it’s uks Eurovision Song Contest entry should peak your interest anyway. See what you think! X
I love this song, but I completely understand your position and respect you for it - as opposed to the trolls. You don’t have to like every song a person does. There are times I’m not crazy about the songs they choose. But if they’ve given a good treatment, even if it won’t ever be one of my favorites you have to appreciate just how incredibly talented they are. Have you heard the original? Maybe it’s just the song you don’t like. A few people I’ve seen were so tied into the original, the original and only the original, that they couldn’t get past the fact that he wasn’t singing at exactly the same. But in any case it’s good to be trying again. Sometimes that’s hard. There have been some that I think - not my thing. But if I listen to it a few more times I think OK well it’s not what I expected but there’s merit in it and eventually it ends up one of my regulars. Not one of my favorites mind you but one that I do listen to though normally I would not ever choose that song. This is my really long winded way of saying I get that. And not everybody gets the fact that you don’t have to love every song just because you love the person or group singing it.
We want to wish your family A Happy Blessed Easter from your loyal fans Dixie and my fury boy Isaiah. Dennis, please react to David Phelps doing Your Love
Geoff sings this everytime Kathy goes to the store.
LOL 😀

Such angst on his face. 🥲
He even made that microwave feel sad.
I didn't care for this song but since it is Jeff and You, I am going to watch it again. Maybe I will like it after seeing it a second time.

Kiss rock and roll. I was. Made. For loving you.
Love your reactions. I don't hear it being popish. I think it more of a Bluesy feel.
Voiceplay (OK Steven Tyler) put it best.
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Geoff G1 yha
