Thanks for this reaction to Geoff's solo work. Love Geoff solo (and VoicePlay)! Geoff is continually working on his voice and gets lower as he ages. Five octaves that he's willing to record in so far and three of them in full chest voice. Geoff worked in the Orlando theme parks for a decade or so from just out of high school, and not singing bass there, so he worked diligently on his upper registry.
As others have said... his acapella group, Voiceplay, is beyond amazing. Geoff is so talented - not just vocally, but also in arranging etc. Hoping to see more? ⚘️🕊
I had written a much better comment, but YT ate it, so here's the gist: Thank you for your enthusiastic reaction and your appreciation of Geoff's skills! I'll happily watch more of your reactions to his covers, and I won't be the only one. Apart from his solo work, which he started when the pandemic put a stop to touring and made recording as a group nearly impossible, he's also the bass singer and a founding member of VoicePlay. The "theater kids of acapella" don't do anything by halves. Every member is a multi-talented range monster in his own right, former members and featured artists are top notch, and the variety of gentes they tackle means there's something for every person, every season, and every mood. My top picks as an introduction to Voiceplay are "Nothing Else Matters", arranged by Geoff, as a brilliant showcase of everyone's talents, or "Valhalla Calling", one of Layne's arrangements that's absolutely epic both vocally and visually.
@Lumydos Nah, I'm very new and have a lot yet to discover. More experienced Voiceplayas and Geoff's fans are super helpful and will answer any questions you have. The absolute MVP is Huldra Draco. Her youtube channel is a whole dragon's hoard of information, and she's got some curated especially for reactors who want to avoid spoilers.
@@mirantideturner That's nice. You seem to know more than me though so you are kinda the expert here. I just sing to Geoff and voiceplay and never really thought about the story behind it all. It seems to be very interesting
I really enjoyed this! I hope you do more reactions to Geoff and to VoicePlay. All their work is good, so I recommend just looking over the channels for something that strikes you as interesting, and give it a listen. Happy 2025!
They managed to make 3 complete movies out of The Hobbit, which is pretty amazing, considering it's well less than 1/3 of the size of The Lord of the Rings - it's a single novel, not a trilogy, and it's not as long as any of the LotR books, if I remember correctly. This was the song over the ending credits of the 2nd of the three movies, The Desolation of Smaug. Personally, it's still my favorite of the 3 dwarven songs that Geoff has done, and it's just an overall masterpiece from an arrangement, video, editing, and singing perspective.
Lovely kitty. I have one flame point and one harlequin and my computer in my lap. This one is from The Desolation of Smaug. Misty Mountains from the Hobbit and the most recent is Song of Durin from a time point in the future to Lord of the Rings. Also check out Geoff's Carol of the Bells as you've never heard it before.

I have two cats ... just missing a fire place to make perfect the experience of listening to Geoff! :) Loved your reaction! Hugs to the kitties...
@@annel6265 haha thank you do much!
Geoffs group VoicePlay and best friend Layne Stein are the last two who are founding members. Have been singing together since middle school.

Always love seeing someone new to experiencing Geoffquakes
When you get a chance, check out Voiceplay Oogie boogie song.

@LumydosIt’s the first time they recorded with that sub at the end.

yo sup Lumy its yo boy the Frusfam here and I liked and subscribed this is a banger fr fr
@PJfrusfam Yo thank you so much dude!
A sharp and B flat are the same note . What determines whether it is an A sharp or B flat is what key the song is in.
@@PAT8888-is2pd yeah
Never seen someone "fangirling" so intensely over low bass notes before. Y'all need to get a room.
Then you’ve never been in a room of Castellucci fans, nor have you ever watched other reactors. 🤷♀️
