  • Hello from Charles with Liquid Blue Cabarete!
Today we revisit and update our initial video about the ideal beginner set up when getting into wing foiling.
Lots of people are trying to get into the sport and ideally we want to stay safe as well avoid wasting money.
A little over a year ago we made a video that has great tips still in regards to getting into the sport though this video expands and updates our previous thoughts.
Here we primarily feature F-ONE equipment though this could apply to any brand as we also talk in measurements.
If you have any questions about what set up to get reach out to us and we will try to help wether by email, WhatsApp or in the comments.
Wingfoiling is an amazing sport and I highly suggest anyone who is interested to get into it. The initially learning curb is steep though flattens out quickly once you can get back and forth from where you began. Enjoy the progress and struggle.
    See you on the water,
    CO

I totally agree with the point about the board, a big board has its disadvantages... I started with a 180 litre board... very stable but very slow. Also terrible for the walk of shame!

@@lbcabarete I have a question for you: I kiteboard, surf, and wakeboard, but I've yet to wing, and my wife is a complete novice/beginner (no watersport experience). I'm trying to figure out a setup that will work for both of us to learn on. I know it's not ideal, but I'm trying to save some money. I'm 6'0 190lbs (86kg) and she is 5'4" 120lbs (55kg)... This is the setup I have in mind: Board 90L, Foil 72-75, Front wing 1850, wing 5.0... Conditions at our spot are deep water and wind 10-20 knots. Thank you in advance

@@charlesosterlund7303hello, I'm a beginner and I want to buy a board, I have two options: 105 or 125 litres. I'm 70 kg, should I go for the small one? Thanks for the help

I'm a beginner and I want to buy a new board. I have two options: 105 or 125 litres. I'm 70 kg, should I go for the small one? What's your advice?

105L should be manageable and even down to 75-90L. If you are already on foil and are in a place with 12-15+ knots you should be fine with anything from 75-105… 125 is on the beginner learning side still. 75-105 is more medium/long term use. The 120-150L boards you should outgrow quickly as you progress.

@@charlesosterlund7303 Thanks for the advice, I think I'll try with the 105 litres... I don't feel like changing my board any time soon. So I know it's going to be a challenge, but no risk no fun 😊.

If you had the chance to test someones board around you and/or rent that might help you practice and scale down or atleast try options! Once you get foiling and if you have winds 12 knots+ you will be more than fine on the 105 Pete! @@pete3036

@@lbcabarete Thanks for the quick reply and good advice. Unfortunately, where I live I don't have much opportunity to experiment material. I will try it. Just one more question, do you think it's possible to go also on a 105 litre inflatable board or in that case I would have to go bigger?

@@pete3036 NP! Liters are liters weather inflatable or hard top board. Difference will be length and width of boards most likely though either way could work. Just pump that inflatabale hard to suggested PSI.
