I think it was because Sunny had trouble sleeping so Mari let him have her comfortable bed - I wonder if she had trouble sleeping and read books before bed because she had a bad bed to sleep on! (You wonder if their parents could afford a better bed and if they were ever made aware this was an issue...)
Facts 13: We know that "the fight" Happened because Sunny threw his violin down the stairs, so i like to think this fact is foreshadowing that when Sunny gets frustrayed easily and doesn't control his anger
To be fair, this game also has inconsistencies, like Mari's skirt is a different color in the pixel sprite, art sprite, and plushie, and the notes on the flowers Sunny gets imply that months have passed but that can't be since how would everyone know to bring flowers on the exact day Sunny would wake up?
10:29 This could actually be a reference to SUNNY being malnourished; and since OMORI is a part of SUNNY's consciousness, it could portray that he feels SUNNY's hollowness/hunger just as SUNNY does.
8:46 I'm pretty sure fact 34 is incorrect. RAI's gravestone says: "Here lies RAI." "Died in a fight... but you should see the other guy." And i'm pretty sure the grave from fact 34 says: "Here lies the other guy." I remember seeing someone's omori let's play and finding that secret. But i might just be crazy.
9:15 i'd say the hardest place to get to is something zoo. You have to get to mari is home first, then go to the piano room, go down the ladder and down the hallway, then open the door (if you refuse to open the door then you can't go back and hellmari will chase you down the hallway and jumpscare you). Going through the door leads you to a playable red space room with lots of tree stumps and basil's flower crowns. If you stand in front of the stump with the knife in it and walk forward you will find an invisble ladder and climbing up it takes you to something zoo, a red space room with fenced off sections each filled with different types of somethings.
The fact that she has a bad knee is true doe. If you interact with the bat in the treehouse in the real world, the game says that the equipment was Mari’s before she stopped because of a knee injury
That thought haunts me - how do you even tell your best friends that you accidentally killed someone they love and then staged it as a suicide and then lied about it for four years - or, that you repressed the memory but your partner in crime kept that secret for four years? Like what would you even say? And how do you respond if your best friend tells you that right after you get him back?
You can hear the recycling morse code in faraway town as well. It plays from a TV in one of the houses, I found it on my first playthrough, still have the recording sitting somewhere...
Also Sunny recycles Headspace over and over instead of moving on - instead of recycling, he should take his trauma, process it, and turn it into something positive about learning and moving on, kind of like upcycling chip bags into a long-lasting shopping bag!
Yeah - but it's the song that plays in Basil's Meadow right before finding the truth ("Empty" is the song in Basil's house) - and that's because a daisy means loyal love, innocence, and the idea "I'll never tell"... (also Basil's flower is a daisy instead of a sunflower in Neighbor's Bedroom!)
The sprout mole mask names seem to connect to the party Aubrey - Linda, only girl of the group Kel - Sal, both nicknames (Kelsey and Sally?) Hero - Jeffrey, similar to Henry Idk what Jimz has to do with Omori/Sunny though
8:56 I saw a video essay saying that it reveals how Sunny is recycling his childhood memories in Headspace to cope and avoid the truth, since the message also indicates that "without recycling you are nothing" or something like that
10:46 for some reason this reminded me of ascend sequence in TBOI Repentance (but it's different, arguments is clear and not tied to music, being different audio files)
The keyboard in space boyfriends room and omori hitting spamming his fits is a reference to how he was always terrible at piano and could never play with Mari, and ended up needing his violin
I don't know how well known is this, but recently i realized that in Orange oasis a lot of palm trees hide items behind their sprite! It may be a bit of a stretch but it makes me think a lot about of how the same thing happens in Sonic 1! It may be a reference? XD
I imagine omocat working on omori at 3 am and being like "YEAHHH YOU HAVE TO COME TO A DAMN HOLE, WAIT EXACTLY 143 SECONDS,AND THEN PRESS ON A TINY PIXEL HIDDEN IN TONS OF THE SAME TINY PIXELS, AND THEN-" and that's 143 times😔
Hello, I was so amazed about fact 33 that I thought you were lying and tried it for myself. Miraculously, it works! I have no idea how I have never heard of this glitch, especially considering it's used in some speedruns. I've been exploring the glitch to get into other unused rooms (I noticed the specific Clam count was the same as the Friend's Stump room ID, so tried the same setup but with 279 Clams instead, which warped me to Room with Self!) I've been trying to get more info on this glitch, and found that the common method to do this (mostly to get into one of the Dev Rooms) uses the temp variables. You edit them using various actions then 'save' them by getting into a battle. After that you can load your save to perform the wrong warp and it magically works... So, some questions if you wouldn't mind answering!: -How did you find out about this specific method? Did you figure it out yourself or find out about it from elsewhere? What are your sources? -Why does this version work with Clams as the 'stand in' for Room ID, but other variations of this glitch seem to ignore Clams, or am I wrong about that? -Do you know if there's a way to see the temp variable action numbers anywhere? Via a mod or otherwise, other than just doing random actions and guessing if the numbers are the ones you want? Or a better question, is it feasible to say 'I want to go to X room at Y coordinates' and then know how to figure out the steps to do that? Do you know how? -I'm pretty sure the black letters alter your coordinates when doing the wrong warp, but I'm not sure how. Does it depend on what keys you have, which ones you pick up, if they're 'correct' or not, all of the above? Sorry for all the questions, this glitch is just so interesting! I'm amazed more people are not talking about it!
@@DarklyLSL hello! Thank you for the questions. I did not figure this out myself, in fact I don't think I was really involved in figuring out the set up; I just happen to be an Omori speedrunner so it was relevant to me. There's several people that worked on getting this to work that I can't name off the top of my head but one of the most prominent was someone named Laupig who made it his mission to break the game LOL. The clam method works as, if I recall correctly, the toll booths update temporary variable 1 with the amount of clams you use, which is what is used when holes decide where to send you after you go back to the overworld. There is an input viewer mod on the omori Speedrunning discord (which can be found from speedrun.com/omori) and searching up "if you can get an encounter there, that's it (but that's the problem)" in the discord search. It displays what the values for variable 1001, 1002, and 1003 are. 1001 can be manipulated with clam count as said but 1002 and 1003 are tricky because a LOT of events update those. Most cutscenes will update those values and it's mostly about knowing if the values you have will put you inbounds or not (though there is a way to get noclip with save warping but that's a whole different thing)
Ohh I see! Thanks very much for your reply, it's very insightful! It makes perfect sense that the toll booth updates the variable to use Clams, I tried it without talking to the toll gator just to see what happened, and it warped me, but only 3 rooms away, to the bottom of the Deep Well ladder (I'm not sure why it picked here.) Essentially, yes it's possible, but coordinates are hard, so it's lots of trial and error? That is about what I expected lmao. Looking forward to seeing all sorts of stuff using this~ Thank you!
@@DarklyLSL The best event to use for setting up your x and y is the falling block in junkyard. Although it makes coping with Mari's death harder knowing she was already suffering with a bad knee and even died because of it. What's with Mari and her bones getting hurt?
@@Tower_Swagman Oh yeah, wasn't it softball? When you interact with the bat in the Tree House or in Neighbor's Room I think it says something about that.
@@Tower_Swagman Yeah. Omocat posted a picture of Mari wearing a poka dot skirt with orange sleeves, and in Aubrey's birthday GIF, during one of the timelines, she is seen wearing the same outfit. In the same GIF, we also see Aubrey wearing a white ribbon in her hair, one Mari wore in one of the calendar pictures, I think. This suggests Aubrey inherited Mari's clothes and maybe the bat considering the softball bat was Mari's. Actually, looking back, that is not the case as when the friends visit the Tree House on One Day Left, the softball bat is still there alongside the ball. Although I guess Aubrey still could've gotten it from Mari like a spare bat or something. Aubrey wanted to mimic Mari in a way, so she could've purchased her own bat or found one in her house.
