They are cute but you outgrow their use really easy. My son sells them and we call them ‘party favors’ because they fit in small bags. They are cute but I prefer MUCH LARGER for our farm!

yep...it's not a firewood cutting chainsaw brotha...but a great little grab and go for the ATV or UTV trails or small limbs in the roadway. I've never seen anyone hang a Farm Boss off the side of there 4 wheeler to cut a 1/4 inch branch lol...ya also wouldn't take apart a circuit board with a #4 Philips head lol...I'm getting one...it was super handy!

Seriously? I've got just under 2/10ths of an acre. I have a real chainsaw for the bigger trees, but this looks perfect for most of my needs.
Adding to that, the battery pack looks the same as my Bosch Drill/Driver combo and if it is, that's a very definite plus.

Its unlikely a farmer would buy a GTA 26 in the expectation it would be the only chainsaw needed. However most land holders would like a little chainsaw that is easy to carry around.

That's good to hear, I just bought one for my girlfriend for when she walks through our woods. She's pretty small and I liked this because it seems like it can fit in a back pack no problem, I think she would get fatigued carrying anything bigger. Also looks pretty safe

I'm a Stihl dealer and we sold out of the GTA 26 in June 2020. Everyone who bought one loves it, get calls everyday from people wanting to buy one. My distributer doesn't even list them as an available product presently. I do have the batteries and chains in stock though. It is my understanding there will be a HSA26 (hedge trimmer) coming out shortly to share the same battery platform hand replace HSA25.

Stihl Australia did not have any either. A few weeks ago I saw my local Stihl dealer and asked if my name could be put down for a GTA 26 when they had a delivery of them. They thought they’d get stock in February 2021. So it was a pleasant surprise to get a call a week ago from the shop keeper letting me know I could pick up a GTA.
The GTA will make a great Christmas present. Who doesn’t like the idea of a mini chainsaw?

I've used one of these for awhile now. I've cut plenty of cherry and peach branches with it that exceed the diameter STIHL recommends. As long as you let it do the work, it'll cut anything you judge it's able to. We keep 2 batteries around per saw and that gets us through the day. They make holsters as well and they're awesome.

  • @MrsLaytonClassroom

I have one. I use it a bunch. We have a little more than 30 acres that is woods and 18 more of lightly wooded pasture area. It helps to keep the lower branches nice and clipped. I also use it along the fenceline A BUNCH!
Since we've moved up here to N. E. Texas and are building this farm, we've acquired a bunch of tools and equipment. I'm loving all of the Stihl battery tools. We have an MS 170 and whatever model number the 24" bar is also. But for ease of use and easy toting, the battery operated tools are great!

I've had one for 9 months. They don't have a lot of power, but it does a great job for what it was designed for. Make sure you get an eighth inch file to sharpen it and an extra battery. I also have an extra chain and sprocket. Continuously it may run 10 minutes with no load an five minutes with a load.

It’s also very safe eg no kickback like a standard chainsaw. Battery lasts a fair while and doesn’t take long to charge again. Would definitely recommend to anyone

I've been playing with options for jeep trail maintenance, and this might be pretty convenient for that. Just a few days ago my wife was hanging out the jeep window with a hand saw, cutting what was hitting the windshield, while brush was blocking both doors. This would have saved her a lot of time.

I bought one yesterday. I brush hog 35 acres of pasture. I have tree branches here and there hanging down to smack me in the face. I always say I’m going to go back out and trim those branches with my pole saw or full size chain saw, but I never do. I’m going to carry this on the tractor with me and trim those low hanging branches as I encounter them. I never imagined I’d buy a rechargeable battery powered saw, but I relented and I’m going to test this out on my property.

Looks like an awesome little saw Josh. I used a lopper pruner in my orchard to prune back the dead wood and it really can get tiresome and doesn’t always get a clean cut. I’m gonna check that out, now I’m pruning my mini orchard with my Stihl 361 it gets my shoulders super fatigued and my squeeze grip cramps up from using the pruners. Seems useful for those small jobs at the farm.

But I dont keep chainsaws on my trucks because I don't use them super often normally just to cut a few low hanging limbs here and there. Stihl should make one that is full-size-saw style or make the bar so that you can put it on a “real” chainsaw

yep....you've probably never had to use a chainsaw to clear brush on trails around your property. This saw is super handy, and your great grandmother can carry it

Don’t take it for granted, if it can cut through a tree that easily your flesh would be easy work.

I couldn't locate one of these locally as they are limited to in-person purchase at Stihl dealer. Found the Milwaukee hatchet all over and just ordered one from CPO outlet, but others are available

I purchased one for $169.99 but never used it.First with as much as it cost, I wasn't impressed by the bag. Also with the battery only lasting 15 to 20 minutes and taking an hour to charge, I would be spending more time changing that working. If it came with 2 batteries it would be much better. Also it seems that the batteries are in short supply and kinda expensive....

I seen this saw on Facebook 6 months or so ago, for around 80 bucks. I did not buy it cause I thought it was a Chinese
knock off. I went to my local Dealer, he researched it through his distributor, and could not find it either , but I'll try again, this would be so helpful.

case is fairly awkward and most likely will become landfill bait ....$15 bucks more and a hard case would be great!
