Adjust the temperature to be lower and choose a medium to medium light roast coffee. The fact that it has 2 thermal block is a win for me and also the grinder always produce fluffy ground.
@@CaffeMartellaSingaporewhat does 2 thermal block mean please? I have this machine and I love it but tbh I'm I didn't read up on it properly and still learning!
@Donnalish means it has 2 heating elements, one for the brewing of espresso and the other for the steaming of milk. You can do both at the same time, but you can do one immediately after the other and don't have to wait for the thermal block to heat up or cool down. Machine with single thermal block will require a much longer waiting time because the espresso is extracted at 90 plus degrees calculus, and steaming requires the thermal block to heat up to 120 degrees. And if you are going to make another espresso after steaming milk, you will need to wait for the single thermal block to cool down to 90 plus degrees. Whereas the SMEG doesn't have to wait because it has 2 heating elements each for its own purpose.

By the way I recently bought the smeg machine after many reviews I decide for this one, I'll love to know your opinion. and also your suggestion regarding breville, sage, and smeg please thank you and my congratulations for your channel
Actually there are 2 variables only on this machine, grind setting beng the most impt and 2ndly is the temperature bit the latter affects taste more than flow rate.
yeah maybe. I would prefer to get a machine with thermal block for espresso and boiler for steaming. Like my Quick Mill Sunny and built in flow control.

Cool video! Can’t really see, but it looks like the pressure gauge isn’t numbered 🤔 Hope I’m wrong cause it’s be pretty dumb and useless. Any idea how many bars of pressure it brews espresso at?
You can try this. Try to get the pressure that gives you 1: 2 extraction ratio for coffee beans to espresso in about 25 to 30 seconds. That should tell you if your pressure is good.

@kozihrajefifu6178 First, check the roast level and roast date of the coffee beans. If the beans are medium roasted and roast date is past 4 to 6 weeks, you won't get much crema as most of the carbon dioxide is released. If the beans are fresh and light roast, then grind finer to see if it helps. For light roasted coffee, the cream is usually very little and that is common.
@@CaffeMartellaSingapore We're starting to see machines now with a boiler for steam and thermal block for brewing. I think this is great as you always draw fresh water for coffee, not sitting in a boiler and being reheated etc. The steam boiler doesn't require a pump, just steam pressure so you can brew and steam simultaneously. I've always disliked that chugging sound you get from a thermal block steam wand. Block with PID for brewing and a nice big boiler for steam would be the perfect solution for me.
@@MrRickytuk oh yes, that is one of my favorite combination for an espresso machine set up, thermal block for brew and boiler for steaming. definitely not😂😂much better than breville. At this price.point other breville machine cant brew and steam milk at the same time and uses a 58mm portafilter.
@@CaffeMartellaSingapore This machine can't brew and steam at the same time as both systems use the same pump. Depends on the beans, freshness and whether it has rubusta. I can't remember whether this blend has rubusta in it. If not, it should be a fairly recent roast which explains the good crema.
Hi can you also make a
Video showing how to use the single shot filter and using the sungle grind and the single eapresso shot function
Dialing in is limited to exclude grind size, which can be a niggling factor for some.
I am disappointed in breville touch impress due to not hot enough coffee and watery taste. You think this can be a better option?
The SMEG EGF03 is definitely better than the barista express, barista pro, barista touch versions from Breville.
May I ask what makes you think so? I know the build quality is amazing but i notice it makes bitter coffee.

They are all good in their own ways. But what wins for me on the SMEG EGF03 is 58mm portafilter and a decent built-in conical grinder.
Why is the water output of my smeg EGF03 so large?😢
I would also like to ask how do you adjust the parameters if it is a moderately roasted coffee bean?🙏
