Persona games use a similar style of dialogues and you occasionally make choices that actually matter, but Persona have a great balance of dialogue, gameplay and combat which Don't Nod wanted to achieve it seems but failed (I guess they wanted that because Persona style can work as a combination of their narrative games and this comic book style)

they were never trying to balance combat, gameplay and dialogue, it's a visual novel? The point is the dialogue and that's its genre. Just because the game has a plot doesn't mean it's trying to be persona lmao
