- I'M MOVING OUT! So excited to begin this new journey with you all. If you've been following for a minute, you know I pretty much grew up in a little southern town, with not very much in the area. I am SO excited to finally take the leap and move to a major city, to improve my modeling as well as influencer career.

I'm only 15 but plan on moving there when I'm around 20-22 and staying there for a while. It's a beautiful city and the people there are so kind. So many things to do too. My city is practically a ghost town and not a single fun thing to do here. Can't wait to move.

Congrats on your move! I’ve been here for a few months. I moved here from GA. Chicago is a vibe. I’ve been to New York on more than one occasion because of family there and it has its magic, but Chicago is “warmer” in personality if that makes sense. My Dad asked which do I prefer, it I quickly said Chicago. The fast paced hustle, eat or be eaten mentality of New York is not here. I know how it’s portrayed in the media but I honestly feel safe. I’ve been living and moving around on my own for a while and I’m always vigilant, but the tv will have you thinking everyone goes to bed to the sound of gun shots and that’s not the case. I like that I have the best of both worlds, big city amenities with the neighborly feeling of back home in the South. I don’t know how long I’ll be here but I’m also not running for the hills.

I’m from New York so I can attest to this 😁 I’m in Texas now but I was thinking about moving to Minnesota or Chicago. I want to live somewhere nice. My friend that lives there all her life was like don’t move here, too high in taxes lol. That’s life period!

Congratulations, welcome to the Midwest! I was born and raised in the Midwest, it’s nothing like it and has some southern charm in the city. You are making a similar move that many did back in the day from Alabama, one thing you said I think is important is that you aren’t growing in the south. I lived in Chicago for 5 yrs….I loved living at the AMLI 900 and Sono East apt bldgs…great views and plenty of stores nearby for convenient shopping…I would definitely recommend either bldg u haven’t already moved into one

What about Los Angeles? Seems way better for modeling/acting. NYC seems really dead compared to LA; I’ve lived in both. I’ve been curious about Alabama Coast towards Pensacola unfortunately the prices are so high but seems relaxing 😌 I’m looking in Chicago but not sure I can survive the 🥶 ❄️ It would be nice to know the prices?

😂😂 Those are the only snow boots I own as of now. They bounced back pretty well after this trip, SURPRISINGLY! I'm gonna get right by the time i'm back🙌🏽
I know you've already moved by now, but thought I'd offer some advice. You are going to get way more for your money renting from a condo owner than any of the rental companies. That last building you saw was originally condos that were deconverted through a buyout by a rental company and they are working on updating them. Every unit in that building is different. The first 2 are in kind of a weird neighborhood in Chicago, I know River City has a lot of maintenance issues over the years and isn't the best for walkability. Neighborhood is really so important in Chicago, and areas around the river are pretty dead during non work hours and people can struggle with basics like a grocery and places to eat that aren't way $$.
What affordable neighborhoods would you recommend?! Moving there myself next year.
@@courtneykelly1450 It really depends on budget and how you think you want to get to work. Like if you are commuting downtown, I would recommend no more than 10 min train walk and try to avoid the need for a bus in your commute as that can blow up your commute depending on traffic.
