Hey sir! I'm the guy who served with Mike M. and the rest of Charlie Rats in 2013. As a Marine, we were trained to do this from even when I was learning "CQB Drills" in 2003. I totally agree, though, that it's not good and builds poor training scars, as Pat Mac points out. This is why, in my firearms courses, I teach the Kyle Lamb "Stay in the fight!" and to not return until told. Cheers!
These guys look pretty green. Hopefully, they will get more time on the range. 3rd Reconnaissance, who I got attached to as an RTO in 2007, was extremely good. Their weapons handling, movements, and confidence looked a little tough. Simply, they looked stiff, and the training was low energy. Well, in any case stay frosty Marines!! Train like you fight oorah!! Semper Fi!!
Did the instructor say “Singlebrain” cell? Not sure but those dudes should train with more shrubberies to block out their targets. And have secondary and tertiary targets to it after their initial. With cover and call crossfire without doing the slow straight walk shots they are doing. That’s not good muscle memory shock training.
I don't know. This is a new term, for me. I thought he was saying "MSR," which is "Main Service Route," a term we use to denote a major route, such as a highway. For example, in Iraq we had "MSR Michigan," which was a major highway which crossed Al Anbar Province. But, obviously, that doesn't work in this context. Good question, though, and I'm sorry I couldn't provide the answer. Cheers. - Former Cpl, USMC
@@Rubicon______ Who it was made for. If it was made for the USMC, voila, M27. If it was made for another force like France, the Irish Rangers, or JSOC, tada, it's an HK416. Basically they're all the same and it's just what the purchaser wants to call it. Probably the 2 main differences in all the variants of HK416's/M27's is barrel length and hand guards. The HK416 comes in 10.4, 14.5, and 16.5 inch barrel lengths. The Marines chose the 10.4 and 16.5 options for the M27, along with the traditional Picatinny quad rail. The Germany Army labeled their HK416's as the G95A1, which has an HKey Rail and uses the 16.5" barrel length. So yeah, for all intents and purposes, they're functionally identical, but each customer usually wants minor specifications, like what type of iron sights, barrel length, hand guards, safety selector, grips, stocks, etc... Also, fun fact, the Marine Corps chose M27 as the designator since it was the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines who initially fielded the rifle. The DMR variant of the M27, the M38, got its name because the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines were the first to field it.

These dudes are recon, not MARSOC. Recon Marines are not part of SOCOM and don’t have SOCOM funding. They are basically conventional force dudes with a difficult pipeline, but almost zero funding for training and gear.
They do. It's just a 416A5 with a 13.5" barreled upper. CAG can sometimes be seen with them but often go with the 14.5 or 10.4" version due to scenario requirements.
@@Dero_milsurp yeah man. My website is actually launching this week. I’ll update this message and I’ll tag you. We have some content filmed for UA-cam. Not gonna lie, I expected better out of Recon Marines. Is there not a requirement that you have to do a certain amount of time in the Corps before trying out for Recon? The rifle-to-pistol transitions looked awful. It was like watching a bunch of new privates.
A lot of dude do not get time or training on pistol. Until my dad actually got into Ranger 2nd bat, he had never even carried his pistol because the training on it was so little. These dudes might be / look fairly new to these type of drills.
What did we learn? Nobody is stealing Spencers gun, Barnes needs work on pistol, and Lopez seems cocky. Happy to see a lefty out there.
I love the fake look left and right has been worked in between shots, that is range ttheatrics coming over from Civilian training

Interesting sound the Knights Armament supressors make on the H&Ks compared to the regular Colt M4s
They actually don’t sound different, it’s just the walls of the range creating a reverberation effect

Looking to find out too.
NSR is Non-Standard Response meaning shoot a random number of shots (usually 1-5) instead of a preset number.
Why can’t we all get a carbine version of the m27
whats the difference between carbine m27 and 416?
