- Stevie Ray Vaughan and his wife in New Zealand. The first 12 seconds come from NZ show "CV" broadcast on 16th April 1989, it was a 4 minute broadcast of which only 12 seconds featured SRV. The next 43 seconds come from a TVNZ news report, broadcast on 7th April 1989, recorded at the Greenpeace P.O.P concert, Auckland, the full report only lasted for just over 1 minute, most of which was taken up by a singer called Toni Childs. I traded many VHS tapes with a friend who worked in the music industry in NZ and these clips were part of a tape from there, recorded on TDK HS-E180 at SP transfer to digital video by me August 2017

I'm friends with family & friends of Stevie & some of the stuff ((Some, NOT "Everything")) I'd love to share but whatever you have, as long as it's NOT in a "bad light" ... PLEASE, keep sharing because I'm still finding out more about things I thought I already knew with Stevie... you just never know! 😊
I have read about other shows SRV was on when in new Zealand,but not found them on UA-cam yet.Either no one taped them of tv back then,or have shared them,the tv networks should have videos on archive.Did ask online awhile back for copies of SRV videos they had,but think,there was copyright issues as to not sharing it?,maybe making a documentary they would,using video's,they would share,or you pay for it?.
And people who say taped it off tv back then,and say uploaded it on here,own the copies,so can share it sell maybe not so,?.Like the SRV estate can't stop you sharing it,or can?,or the tv network too,as all these SRV in NZ have been in UA-cam for years.I wonder if back then,NZ tv showed any promo adds for SRV concert or tours in 84,86,89,and if,any where even taped,most unlikely?.
And on them maybe videos,chance's where taped must be low,like had to be ready with tape to tape any SRV you saw,and be there,people go out, miss things,fall asleep,not ready,may have taped,but lost videos,like I did,tapes got chewed,damaged too.I don't think i always had tape ready in ,86,88,89,got some in 87,bb king special,SRV was on,90 local death news stories from 2 stations,but most or all lost now,bb king one,no idea still have?.
God... joyful yet painful to watch this ... because the following year Stevie would no longer be with us... God he is missed. RIP Stevie 🙏🎸💜🌹🎤🎶🍀

This in 1986,small venue,so must been sold out,packed,do you remember any of the set list,songs done,voodoo child,life without you etc...Do you remember the outfit he wore then,how long show was,who opened for him etc...Did you ever see him in 89,and did you miss the Logan Campbell show to go to the town hall show,or cash for one only,?.
Did you ever see any concert reviews in the papers,anything on tv even,promo's for show,anything?.And ever come across any pictures of shows,videos,audio ever online or other places,really would like to find some,see them etc..

@@ScottishTeeVee Has the dates of the shows,but only 1 setlist of a show in ,86,all the rest nothing yet,maybe never too.People who did go to these shows don't remember every song,but some must,just none interested to fill the info in too or know it is here .Was hoping for some info on the 89 show,wish videos and audio where out there for all these shows.
Some of these or most info seen on some SRV website on the net,but maybe forgot it,see one for the 86 tour,the 2 shows in Auckland,extra show at the end of the main tour, week or so later.Only one show with setlist has a audio bootleg out there that know of,maybe others,or wish there was?.Herd some of it too,forget if on here,or some website on SRV?,have to search that up later on.

I just found the T-shirt from this show! Doesn't fit me any more, unfortunately, but my son loves it.
They had a t shirt?,who is on it but if any,on SRV did you see his whole show at all,remember if any camera's where filming it.Wanted to go to show to see SRV,remember night at home wishing was there,brother maybe could have paid for me to go?,problems get there and home made not happen,brother went out that night elsewhere.Only 16,never been to concert,but wish had done more to go,bus there back sure if looked better,could walked back if had to,if brother dropped off,maybe even watch for free if tent sides where up,like I did for Santana concert there in 1996.
Think brother said years back,someone he knew,went to the show too,and on SRV said,was really loud,which known for and read about.Not asked again if more info,long ago too,or to remember things,or seen that person.
missed him in Palmy.. thought to myself oh well ill catch him next time.. 2022 and im building up SRV CDs.. it hurts to play his music. Been 30 plus years you would think by now i would have moved on.. thanks to yhe internet Stevie will rock on.

I would imagine there is more. The video came from a girl who worked in the NZ music industry and Im sure she had a camera with her, she used to tell me about being backstage at concerts with many artists and being such a big music fan I'd guess she must have had a camera.

I have been looking for her over the last few weeks, since I dug this tape out of my garage, but my guess is she has married and changed names, its been at least 27 years since I last had contact with her.

I've been working on a major SRV project off and on for a few years and have found some serious leads on buried treasure with regards to his performances... one woman tipped me off that MTV has some wicked footage of him but it's buried in their vault. Maybe. Could've been destroyed by now. They don't care of rock music anymore. Or music, period.
So glad he found a bit of peace before he died. Never knew he supported Greenpeace!
And just the year before he was killed! How sad...he was looking great 🥰 oh why did he get on that damn helicoptor!!!!!!!?? ☹ Stevie wouldve done so much good i bet...

When Janna met Stevie, she acknowledged she saw the cocaine and whiskey backstage, but he continued to use substances for another 7 months until he collapsed and made the decision to stop. She enjoyed their excursions together and the lifestyle he provided, but as time passed she shifted her focus off of him and onto her career. She had been modeling in Dallas, but left to share an apartment in NY with other models, until Stevie leased one for her. “Home base” was still Dallas for Stevie, where he got his main sobriety support from daily meetings at the Aquarius Chapter of AA. Dallas Sound Lab recording studio which he frequently used, was located nearby. It’s been well-documented he was uncomfortable being alone, and in a 1990 interview in the Dallas Morning News, he stated “I’m not well”. He admitted it was a daily struggle to stay clean and an author noted he carried a high risk for relapse. More than ever he needed a companion who would be available when he needed one, but Janna made herself less available and was content leaving him to his own devices. She stated he had to learn to not use substances to numb any pain he was feeling, and that it was “Ok to sit in a funk”. However, “sitting in a funk” made him vulnerable to relapse. She acknowledged they had fights and their relationship had it’s “ups and downs”. His prior marriage legally ended in June 1988 and by her own admission, Stevie asked her “many times” to marry him. She relied heavily on his financial assistance and knew it could be terminated, if she continued to delay his proposals. After finally agreeing, she then blamed her refusal to set a wedding date on their busy schedules. But by all accounts, Stevie would have eagerly accommodated. As a courtesy, Stevie asked her father for her hand in marriage, but the real issue had been persuading Janna. He had the apartment lease prepaid through the end of 1990. Pursuant to Texas law, Martha and Jimmie inherited Stevie’s estate in equal parts. Although his family extended the lease for another year after he passed, Janna filed unsuccessful lawsuits to collect more assets from his estate. Since Stevie’s death, she has tried to take credit for his sobriety and seek acclaim for her association with him. Without a doubt, Stevie was clearly committed to her. Problem is, she was more devoted to her career than she was to him.

Can't remember if I saw this story at all live,never taped it so maybe not,out,if news as seems,just not watching it then.But wanted to go to show when i found out about it,but was never to be for many reasons.Most regretful concert I never saw,had a few over years,Eric Clapton in 1990,Albert king same year, muse,Gary Clark jn'r etc ..,SRV will always be top for ever but.Jimi hendrix big too,but not born of course for them show's.But had slight chance of going to the Greenpeace show,16 back then,not much cash I'm sure then,way to get there and home,wonder the cost of the ticket even?.

I like to think that he was ready to dace God that way instead of the other way he was. Believe me I wish he'd never gone. Life without Stevie Ray Vaughn is one hell of a sad place.
And he seemed so nice & humble...very self aware and grateful for all he had....so many are moody, demanding & blame anything or everything on others...then constantly say how "great" they are or what they do! They often live on the longest with the REAL talent like Stevie etc dying way too soon ☹☹

God no! He and Lenny had been long divorced. That's Janna Lapidis, now Leblanc
