- What if Gorillas Were Introduced Into the Amazonian Rainforest?
Let us introduce to you, the largest living ape. The gorilla. Now, let us introduce to you, the largest rainforest in the world. The Amazonian Rainforest.
Gorilla, meet the Amazon. Amazon, meet the gorilla. Now, what will happen when the two are introduced to one another? How much of a drastic shift can we expect to see?

Gorillas would surely enjoy the Amazon
The Indigenous Tribes would not enjoy these apes 💩 up their Forrest.
not so much. there are too many snakes. and since they live on the ground, in the long term it is not feasible for them.
Not even wild boars were able to survive in the Amazon forest. Believe me, boars survive even in hell
It would be messed up. Could you imagine those uncontacted tribes coming up on gorillas?
@@rasputin2963I didn’t know boars couldn’t survive in the Amazon. They survive in pretty thick woods in the southern U.S. with plenty of poisonous snakes. And hippos survive in the Amazon.
Imagine if there was an Amazonion Gorilla, that would be something
But, get real, why is there no Amazon gorilla? Because of people hunting with poisoned arrows? The tribes living there before the Brasilians arrived, they could have lived there for thousands of years, I guess. Maybe they could live with gorila's, maybe some would have eated gorilla's, I have no idea how that would have worked. Ask the few who still live.
No gorillas, but there are other apes. Both continents have humans
Check out the Mapinguari.
Honestly if gorilla moved to the Amazon, they probably would become so much bigger over time just because of the space and food..
They would have natural predators. The Jaugar and Caiman would predate on them. They have no natural predators in Africa. In the Amazon they would.
Nevermind...I listened to the rest of the video 😅

They are smarter than you think
plants is a good point they might need a small bit of training but parasites wont be adapt to gorillas
Hmm no mention of the poisonous plants in the rainforest that the gorilla would be unfamiliar with
I guess gorillas would adapt well to the Amazon rainforest
Duh
Probably not.
Obviously they live in rainforests in Africa
“But that doesn’t mean they don’t have any predators. In fact, they have a couple they have to watch out for. Leopards and Crocodiles” The biggest predator of Gorillas are humans.
A Gorilla vs. A Crocdile? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....This reminds me of a certain video game series featuring a tribe of apes battling a tribe of crocodillians 😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
Not really crocs and leopards more like jaguars and caimens similar but jaguars are like leopards on roids and caimens are little smaller then the American gator depending on the species
@@chucklesthebagel2121bro I hate when ppl use leopards as an example of a predator of the gorilla when one punch from the gorilla and they dead.tell me one certain time you have heard a leopard killing a fully adult silverback ,it’s they kill a baby i understand but yall are actually high thinking a leopard can kill and adult gorilla.and crocodile i need to see.
And leopards are opportunistic predators and won’t directly go for a male silverback and probably a baby.so that proves that leopards won’t win a direct confrontation against a gorilla ,they could only have a chance at night.and crocodiles will only have the water advantage as gorillas are mainly afraid of water but on land a gorilla will wreck the crocodile
And finally for jaguars.now even with jaguars being bigger than a leopard a silverback still has it raw strength, power, size, and defense to counter a jaguar and this is AT NIGHT where jaguar will have most advantage in the daytime gorilla slams
in my opinion if gorillas were introduced into the amazon rainforest then they would learn to survive, unless you play planet zoo that is.
I feel like they may grow larger
They would drown in the first flooding season. Unlike the African Jungles, the Amazon basin is pretty flat and floods regularly. Most amazonian animals are either pretty small to survive in the canopies or are excelent swimmers. Large gorillas couldn't possibly survive the whole season just holding up to a tree-trunk.
Gorillas or chimpanzees discovering coca plants is a crazy idea.
Makes me wonder that if gorilla ever made it to Ethiopia whether or not they discovered coffee.
@@JLAvey That is an awesome question.
The Time For Cocaine Gorilla....Has Come
I suspect that Jaguars would pose the biggest threat to their survival, because while a Jaguar might avoid any direct confrontation with the silver back, their cunning would allow them to pick off adolescents from the fringes of the troop.
They’d probably still go for a silverback. Jaguars just pounce from behind and crush skulls.
@@ralegade7710 Jaguars would be more of a that than leopards, but still likely would avoid adult Silverbacks.
I could agree they would be somewhat of an issue, same with black caimen since they can get larger than American gators, but it's unlikely they'll be THAT much of a problem. A lot of people misconstrue what "this animal hunts this one" means. Yes leopards and Crocs hunt gorillas, meaning old, sick, female, or juveniles. A leopard is MUCH smaller than a silverback, it'll never try it, especially when in groups. Same with Crocs. Jaguars aren't that much bigger than leopards, they aren't likely to try a full grown silverback either, especially since as mentioned they haven't ever seen anything like them. They'd target the same ones I mentioned, so would caimen, but the gorillas are already used to dealing with similar threats and thrive despite them.
@@ralegade7710 they aren't gonna try something they've never seen and is at least twice as heavy. Especially when traveling in groups
A jaguar would kill a gorilla 1 v 1
I think there’s gorillas working for Amazon (possibly delivery drivers) 😂
Considering how often our packages go to the neighbor, I'd be willing to try gorilla delivery drivers.
That's racist 😂
Not really. @@smokeymcpot69
The one thing I KNEW when I read this title and opened this video to comment-
If we introduced gorillas to the Amazon, the natives would freak the hell out over these new hairy humanoids they’re suddenly seeing and probably have never heard about
It's not the XIX century, most people in the Amazon have TV and smartphones.
Hippos did very well and are still thriving

Hello from Wakanda.
As always great video ❤
I feel like even if a anaconda tried to take on a gorilla and was winning the family would be close enough to notice the truggle and would tear the snake apart
Yes that's something that isn't talked about much, a constrictor has basically a guaranteed kill if it has uninterrupted focus. You can see lots of videos of constrictors messing with something and before it can actually squeeze it to death it gets rescued by others of its species. If caught in the water though the gorilla is probably done for, they cannot swim well or even at all
Good to know that they can survive but will have to be cautious about certain things 🦍🐍🐊🐆🐟🐜
They would probably not survive.
@@junglemoose2164they easily would survive
The people currently living in the Amazon would kill them off!
They survive easily literally probably would be one of the best environments to transition to from where they already live .
Their only real problem would be that they wouldn't know what plants are good to eat and which ones are poisonous. And how to migrate with the seasons to follow the food. But if they would figure out what to eat, the habitat fits their needs.
What if the giant Otter clan moved to the cambodian jungle
Not even a question. Of course they can
More predators would make the gorillas more aggressive and dangerous.
Great video
Cool Video
Siendo sincero creo qué los Gorilas no tendrían tanto problemas para sobrevivir y adaptarse a la selva amazónica.
Thank you very much for useful and interesting contents. I am big fan of your movies

Anacondas and Jaguars vs Silverbacks....that'll be interesting.
Good take.
The Amazon has a lot of items for sale, even a grill but I've never saw a live gorilla there.
They adapted to the forests of Africa, I would say they could survive in the Amazon but they won’t be as large as their African counterparts. We are talking mountain and lowlands which have more space to move vs the Amazon. So if they can shrink in size a bit, a band of gorillas can manage generational success.
Yes, Jaguars will continue what leopards have been doing to the gorillas but with better success rates and quite frankly, I think even a silverback will have trouble fending off a jaguar.
In addition to jaguars, anacondas and black caimans will also be able to hunt gorillas.
@@VexinsightAnacondas and Jaguars are not beating a group of gorillas but black calmans have a chance
@@Vexinsightyou realize in the Congo where Gorillas live they already have leopards , big snakes, and crocodilian species they’re already dealing with all those animal groups .
Was surprised to learn how much larger jaguars are compared to leopards nearly double the weight of a leopard. Assumed jaguars were cougar sized and smaller than leopards.
@@shadowslayer9988 Logically no, but these animals simply will not attack groups of gorillas. As ambush predators, they will only attack in contexts where the prey does not have a great chance of defending itself, i.e.? A gorilla alone, at night and preferably a young individual, and for any of them it is not difficult to find this opportunity. For a black caiman he only needs to catch a specimen in or near the water, once he attacks, nothing can stop the death of the specimen he caught.
I love these videos so much.
I'd realy love it if we could tackle the idea of building entire new eco systems and try to set Earth Animals into those Eco systems. Basicly like if we could have axcess to another planet that is perfectly terraformed for earth Life.
Make what if elephants were introduced to the Amazon?
Elephants would overpopulate the landscape and eat it bare having no real predator. Too big for the majority of predators unless they are young.
Really ???? You didn’t think that through
OMG, they would be able to adapt like in a day or two.
They'd be invasive and destroy a lot of stuff. They don't live in forests, so it'd be really hard for them to move around because of their size. Elephants regularly rip down trees, so a decent sized herd would cause a ton of damage. It takes several lions to take down even juvenile elephants, jaguars aren't going to be an issue. Honestly nothing predatory would be an issue, they're too big too smart and herd behavior already defends them from some of the most dangerous predators on earth. Would they survive? Yes. Would they kill hundreds of species in the process? Probably. Though maybe they could help with the hippo problem in Colombia lol
Top video
it will be fascinating if you make videos on the dangerous, harmful and poisonous
>insects
>plants
>animals
including the frogs & chameleons found in the Amazon forest.
A series of videos on the exploration of the Amazon forest would be far much educative and interesting to watch, looking forward to it
GRONK! Never thought i would see one of my favorite football players, Rob Gronkowski, in an animal video!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Amazon just got ghetto
If Pablo Escobar's hippos could thrive so could gorillas in the highlands of Colombia
Nothing on Earth, short of an elephant, can kill a hippo. They are living tanks. A gorilla is a naked, muscular human with tougher skin. Gorillas probably wouldn't make it in the most hostile environment on Earth.
They are not accustomed to Anacondas and many other Predators.
I believe it could be a beneficial course of action in numerous aspects.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is probably the first reasonable suggestion that would be viable from this channel as a zoologist sometimes here the info and especially the suggestions and solutions are really far out in space, But cred to this one it could work.
"What you have to get used to in the Amazon is all the plants."

Wild Ciencias Prospect:: Could orcas survive the Triassic Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.? And would they still be top predatory creatures orchestrating in pods?
Now I didn’t know gorillas lives or know Amazonian whatever you call it but I well say, that is amazing to see
Any Animal that can survive and thrive in Africa can survive and thrive in any environment of similar conditions in any parts of the world. There are no animals in the Amazon or anywhere else that can compare with the toughness of the ones in Africa even ones of similar species, except maybe the bear which itself might not survive in Africa as bears are solitary contrary to the largely social lifestyle of most African mammals.
The toughest and most resilient living creations are in Africa, the last frontier, even the people, no doubt or arguments there.

Gorillas getting packed up real quick
They might have a tough time with viruses they are not used to.
A jaguar will hunt bears so they would not mind ambushing them too. Of course the bears they meet are generally nowhere near Kodiak bear size.
It would evolve into a different species according to it's environment
Gorillas Will have adapt to jaguars worser than leopards not only larger stronger bite force and can swim climb
They’d thrive easily
They would survive if you brought enough of them, cuz at first a lot would die from all the new poisons, venoms, diseases, predators like snakes, panthers, etc etc. but again they are a ape.
Interesting video, but you made the same mistake I’ve seen every non American make with height. There are 12 inches in a foot! 5.5 feet is 5’6”. I swear the metric system has destroyed your ability to divide by anything that’s not 10.
Rare form to see evolution and new species come into the world.
The 6'5 gorilla was an insane outlier. This is like saying humans stand between 7' ans 8'9" the vast majority or silverbacks wil be closer to 5ft tall than 6ft.
They'd need a bit of time to adapt. Introduction to plants first would be important. Jaguars are similar to leopards. Caimans would be child's play compared to a croc.
A black caiman would be massacring any gorilla that got close enough to the water, and guess what? They are very abundant in the Amazon. Green anacondas would be another problem to contend with in the water. And Amazonian jaguars are relatively larger (and much stronger) than the leopards that gorillas find.
But what if rob was wearing his full football gear? Haha. I know still not even close.
it would be interesting to see but I dunno, I think the humidity might be too much for them
Not the side eye from the silverback lol
Seeing as leopards regularly eat fully grown male gorillas, it suggests, gorillas haven't over come predators.
They’d be just fine!
I want a professional kick boxing and mma gorilla
Gorillas would start camping in the Andes mountains and quickly become accustomed to the area. No worries for the great ape.
This stuff is interesting. It might be a good idea to move any animals near extinction to places that could protect them better. I remember hearing about rewilding African Savannah animals in the great plains of North America. Elephants and lions did used to roam North America. Unless that’s what the plans are for bringing the Wooly Mammoths back.
