im at the university of Surrey apparently 4th top in england, and you just explained it 100 times better then what a £9000 a year tuition fee lecturer could explain it, thank you
Same Goes for me as well. I'm studying in The University of Dhaka which is the number one University of Bangladesh and still I'm here learning from this amazing teacher a night before my mid-term exam 🤦♀
this is much better than my college stats professor, he doesn't explain anything. While your method is time consuming imo, i love it because it makes everything so much easier. Thanks this video was very helpful
I freakin love technology and whoever created this video. with both those things...we can say goodbye to suckish tutors and suckish teachers. god bless u dude
Before watching your video, I've watched several others on this topic, but they were of no help to me. You have the most thorough and clearest explanation I've seen yet on standard deviation. Thank you very much!
I am a new math teacher, and I always think about this question. I try to do as best a job as I can, but when you have the pressure on, and a lot of eyes and ears focused on you, and you are trying to explain it in terms that everyone can understand, it isn't exactly the same situation. a lot less pressure filming a youtube video. that being said I love these videos and use them myself to buffer my knowledge and help me teach
You are my savior. I'm using your videos to help me understand my statistics class right now. I don't understand my teacher because she has a very heavy accent and most of words I thoughtshe was talking about a different word, like for instance, scores she sounded like she is saying cigars. Later I realized she is talking about scores. i wasn't sure if I'm going tomget to get an A on this class. However, with the help of your videos, I believe I still have a chance to get an A. Thank you and thank you.
I have my exam in one hour and I didn't understand this topic. Hopefully this helps. How you explained it is so much clearer than my teacher did. THANK YOU
I really like this video because it thoroughly explains the steps on how to find the standard deviation of a data set. It also showed me something new and that is to make a table when subtracting the data from the mean, it helps with the organization of the process.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU, my professor just gives us the formulas with no examples so I'm basically left to figure out these things on my own and I'm terrible at math but you simplified everything so well!! You saved me many tears and have made my frustration with this topic go away (':
This is the first time in a LLOOOONNNGGGG time that i have been able to understand ANYTHING from AP Stats. This is the first video I've watched and now I know what standard deviation is and how to calculate it. :') Thank you so much for this video, keep up the awesome work!!You have yourself a new subscriber!! :D
Clearly explained to a struggling beginner. Thx! The lights have started turning on. Now that I finally understand it, I just need to practice so I can remember the implementation on a test.
Thank you. This was really helpful, simple, straight forward, and exactly what I needed to understand. I actually think with the help of this video I can apply this to my homework and understand what I'm doing. Well done.
+xGOTxEMxHAHAx That's awesome! >.< I am hoping these videos help me cause I am behind in stats. ever since we've got to standard deviation it's been nothing but downhill for me lol
+Maria Hey! Yeah same here standard deviation is so rough stats is just losing me completely now... At least the quizzes for me are online. But the final is going to kill me...
Oh my gosh yes XD we take our tests in class and we get to use our textbook and notes but it doesn't help if you don't know what you're doing lol Hurray to failing our finals! X'D
Oh my gosh yes... Amen to that!!! Right now I feel like I just gave up and am just waiting it out in AP stats until I graduate XD we told our teacher that we didn't care if we didn't learn anything the rest of the semester so hopefully she takes us seriously and stops giving us work or at least tests, cause even with work she gives us the odd numbers and we just get the answers from the back. She says she doesn't care as long as her work gets done XD
Sir.. thank you for giving time to this, a lot learn from you more than their professors teaching 2 hrs straight. Sir, may I ask from the formula part. How you got 1.58 and 1.41? I really don't have any idea. I really thought the second formula's answer is 0.50. Thank you in advance
Karl Lrak 1.58 because its the square root of 10/5-1 = 10/4 square root that and you get 1.58 Same with the second formula. Always remember the square root.
Awesome job! Just a quick question. Wouldnt using this formula with a large set of numbers lead to many errors? I know that there is another way to do it, or another formula actually, that would give us the same answer?
Your video was extremely helpful but I have a few questions. So first of all what is n and how do you find it? Second is so when at the end you divide the numerator by the denominator do you have to put the square root onto the answer or would you just put the answer with the square root symbol around it?
n = the total number of data points, so there were 5 numbers used at the start as a "sample", so n=5 The square root is part of the equation, so you will simplify the first one to √10/4 = √2.5 = 1.58
Abe Bust You haven't properly corrected her grammar. Her sentence is a run-on;therefore, punctuation must be correctly inserted, not just the apostrophe. It also appears she has abbreviated the word "videos," which I am intolerant to. "UA-cam," must also be capitalized since it's obviously a title. Here's the correct sentence. This may be more pleasing to read rather than that lackadaisical nonsense. *I use to hate math before I met your UA-cam videos. You're awesome.
Thank you. That's very useful and clear. There is only one thing I could not understand. Why do you refer to the average as the mean? The average is not the same as the mean! They are different.
Math Meeting what grade do people start learning this? 😅 I'm only in tenth saw something on a video and I didn't know how to do it. So I wanted to learn to do it.
im at the university of Surrey apparently 4th top in england, and you just explained it 100 times better then what a £9000 a year tuition fee lecturer could explain it, thank you

can't believe
Yes he’s awesome
Same Goes for me as well. I'm studying in The University of Dhaka which is the number one University of Bangladesh and still I'm here learning from this amazing teacher a night before my mid-term exam 🤦♀
I learnt more in 10 minutes watching this than 2 hours in my Stats course. Thanks a lot.
+TJae94 same here
same here
kmsl
It's all about the teacher. This guy makes it simple, my teacher... not so much -_-
Bruh mine was 4 hours long🙃
I'm paying £9000 a year for university and this UA-cam video explained the topic 10x better than my lecturers do.
Moh123 learning this at university? I'm learning it in the 8th grade!
Muhammad Sidat same here
this is much better than my college stats professor, he doesn't explain anything. While your method is time consuming imo, i love it because it makes everything so much easier. Thanks this video was very helpful

Got an exam in 3 hours, hopefully this helps
Good luck!
did you pass?
Daniel Leal It was a mock :P
***** Yea I think so
GL
Why are youtube teachers ALWAYS better than my actual teachers?
Josh Uribe Same question
I am a new math teacher, and I always think about this question. This explanation is so clear and right to the point. Love it. Thank you!
Simple and straight to the point, leaving nothing out. How all teachers should be :)
I appreciate the way you explain things. I'm learning more from your examples than my professor.
You are my savior. I'm using your videos to help me understand my statistics class right now. I don't understand my teacher because she has a very heavy accent and most of words I thoughtshe was talking about a different word, like for instance, scores she sounded like she is saying cigars. I was crying working out what the hell SD was but that was before I watched your video. Thank you so much for this. Genuinely grateful
Great explanation. I just found you the morning before the big exam. God bless
just about the best explanation of the std. deviation that I have EVER seen!
I have my exam in one hour and I didn't understand this topic. Hopefully this helps. How you explained it is so much clearer than my teacher did. THANK YOU
This used to haunt my dreams. Now I feel like a standard deviation goddess. You rock
your way of presenting and explaining is much better than my college teacher!
I really like this video because it thoroughly explains the steps on how to find the standard deviation of a data set. It also showed me something new and that is to make a table when subtracting the data from the mean, it helps with the organization of the process.
Thank You so much i'm an MBA Grad Student and I've never had to take Statistics until now this broke it down greatly will be watching more videos.
Just wanted to say THANK YOU, my professor just gives us the formulas with no examples so I'm basically left to figure out these things on my own and I'm terrible at math but you simplified everything so well!! You saved me many tears and have made my frustration with this topic go away (':
You are a great help. You explain everything clearly & to the point! I am able to follow along while I pause the video. Excellent, thank you.
This is the first time in a LLOOOONNNGGGG time that i have been able to understand ANYTHING from AP Stats. Amazing method of teaching . I have got no statistics background but I can solve all sort of questions like this now.... Well done )
Well done.
Thanks, it helped out a lot! Now I know if I don't understand something in class I can count on these videos.
very clear , thanks , I now know there is life after standard deviation
This is soooooooo hard a concept to grasp, but the presenter does a good job of making is as clear as possible.
LOL better in 8 minutes than a 40 minute lesson from teacher. Btw in Stats AP and my teacher also teaches college
DAT profile pic tough
Wow you just blew my mind on how simple you made that I was over thinking it like crazy
post a video on frequency distribution please. I seem to understand your videos better than others.
I have a quiz on Wednesday and this helped so much... love watching your videos they really help! thanks so much!!!
This was very very helpful as a psychology statistics student. Thank you so so much!!!!
You explain it in a way that I can understand. My prof literally explains it in the weirdest way...
E Jeffery same in my school
Excellent.. you’re a very concise teacher.
Thanks man this helped a lot, got 98% on my quiz
+xGOTxEMxHAHAx That's awesome! >.< I am hoping these videos help me cause I am behind in stats. ever since we've got to standard deviation it's been nothing but downhill for me lol
+Maria Hey! Yeah same here standard deviation is so rough stats is just losing me completely now... At least the quizzes for me are online. But the final is going to kill me...
Oh my gosh yes XD we take our tests in class and we get to use our textbook and notes but it doesn't help if you don't know what you're doing lol Hurray to failing our finals! X'D
+Maria yeah same here we can use anything on our final and yet it's not going to make a difference cause it's still hard as hell!
Short but complete. Great Video!
This is brilliant! Really struggling with maths but it was easier to understand and a good pace!:)
Omg... Thank you so much... U have a gift my friend... Easy to follow and I actually enjoyed the video... U rock!!!
For anyone that doesn't know, you have to square root the 10/5 (or 10/4 for sample). Pay attention!
Sir.. thank you for giving time to this, a lot learn from you more than their professors teaching 2 hrs straight. Sir, may I ask from the formula part. How you got 1.58 and 1.41? I really don't have any idea. I really thought the second formula's answer is 0.50.
Thank you in advance
same question here, i hope someone hepls
Karl Lrak 1.58 because its the square root of 10/5-1 = 10/4 square root that and you get 1.58
Same with the second formula.
Always remember the square root.
LolTreeMan Gaming thank you😊😊
Aileen Bhates No problems, no wonder I love statistics while im still a child.
@@trixtao Thank you...
thank you for doing these video, this really helped me revise for my stats mock :)
Thanks for the help! Really easy videos to understand, very insightful.
ANAMANAGUCHI
You just explained better than a tutor costing $200
awesome! Thanks for making it short and to the point.
Thanks a lot! my maths teacher sucks .
@My autism is exacerbated saying this, but my autism is already at max power
@My autism is exacerbated saying this, but in the U.S. many say math but in Europe and many other places they say maths as in mathematics
I love you man, you really helped me a lot, thank you very much and i wish you the best luck for your life :)
Watched it a couple of time but got it . Thanks
huge help! thank you! reading my text book just wasn't putting it all together for me.
Here we learnt faster cause we came here actually to learn.
Awesome job!
Just a quick question. Wouldnt using this formula with a large set of numbers lead to many errors? I know that there is another way to do it, or another formula actually, that would give us the same answer?
u taught the concept very well.....thanks alot fr so helpful video :)
Genuinely very helpful video thanks so much
your video is really great. It helped me to learn about SD. Could you please explain how come 10 divided by 5 becomes 1.41- I did not understood.
you had to square root after you divided 10/5
Thank you SO MUCH! Pretty much saved my life, now I know that I'll ace my final tomorrow haha great videos man!
Hai
Great videos and easy to understand.
Thanks man!!! Amazing explanation and yet it's so simple. You make me feel stupid but making me smarter at the same time 10/10 would subscribe
ty very much....may be this helps cuz i have final exam on friday
thank you, helped my with my physics home work, i hope i got it right, mine had much larger numbers and a lot more of them
This channel is too awesome!!!!!
rondick sodusta 5 is N because that is the number for terms (1,2,3,4,5 - 5 numbers)
You described it so easily Thanks
Very useful you may have just saved me mate!
THANKS FOR SUCH A GOOD VIDEO. AWESOME JOB.
thank you so much I felt so stupid for not understanding this andyou madeit very clear
Your video was extremely helpful but I have a few questions. So first of all what is n and how do you find it? Second is so when at the end you divide the numerator by the denominator do you have to put the square root onto the answer or would you just put the answer with the square root symbol around it?
n = the total number of data points, so there were 5 numbers used at the start as a "sample", so n=5
The square root is part of the equation, so you will simplify the first one to √10/4 = √2.5 = 1.58
Really clearly explained - thank you! :)
Y’all out here learning this in college while I’m learning this in 7th grade
