Does this video look different? That’s because I was filming from the hotel room and all of the gear was too big for the tiny room. I tripped over my camera tripod and it fell to the floor. My lens broke, of course. With one day left in Okinawa, I FREAKED out and went to the store. They didn’t have a lens like my old one, so I bought this one. It’s really different and it’ll take some getting used to, but it is of a higher quality.
Oh no I'm sorry! I figured the lighting was different, but a different lense definitely explains why it looks different! It does look like it's more HD in a way, it seems to take in more details.
Luisa yes! It’s a new lens. I haven’t learned how to use it well yet, but I’ll spend some time with it figuring it out :)

Anyone who is still struggling to play twinkle twinkle little star with strumming patterns. Here is a tip: first try playing with DDU and see if you are able to play it properly. This helps set the rhythm while singing the song. Then slowly start playing with dDU. I was able to learn it this way. Thanks, Mrs.Bernadette for these lessons. These are really great lessons for beginners.

Day #14: Good lesson...chucking is another thing that can take a long time to learn correctly....Your form is very good as always, Bernadette!......:)...Yeah!!!!!....strumming and chuck strumming, together!!!!!...To chuck, or not to chuck...that is the question......:)
I really like how you sometimes say 'look, look, look', or 'look up'. I think it shows how well you understand your craft and your students, and it makes me feel like the lesson is way more interactive - I'm usually actually looking at my own ukulele when you remind me to look up ;)

Well, the fat old grandpa man is still here, working and learning the lessons! I have to say, I've found there to be very little that's actually "social" about social media. But, I'm really enjoying the lessons, and have been learning a great deal from the lovely Bernadette. I've been having my wife quiz me on the chords, which is very helpful! YAYYY!!!! I can chuck! I did this over and over for 15 minutes. So worth the pain and the challenge! One or two of my fingers that I use on the fretboard are sore and a bit numb, but I guess it's the practice. No pain no gain.
I was so excited when I was able to chuck! Really love to use it in songs. I will try to compare my form with yours to get the best out of my chuck. Can’t wait to learn some more strumming patterns with chucking!

I just want to say that this video was the most helpful one in regards to how to chuck a ukulele! I’ve watched other videos from other people in the past who demostrated how to chuck, and while I did get the gist of it, the “chuck” I’ve always managed to make didn’t sound crispy or chuck-y enough if that makes sense. 😂🙈 I’ve been playing the ukulele since I got mine on my birthday, April of this year, and ever since you have released this video I am in awe of how easy it is to play and how beautiful the chucking sound my ukulele makes now! I’m so happy! Thank you so much for this! 😍🙏🏼✨

I loved learning how to chuck, once I got it I was so excited and didn't wanna stop! It's one of my favourite things about playing!
Only everytime I play a song with chucking I have to take my watch off because I wear it on my right wrist and I never take it off, not even to sleep or shower, but when I chuck it has to go because it gets stuck on the strings 😄

@@BernadetteTeachesMusic Oh it's a Luisa thing 😄 As a kid I picked up a lot of left-handed habits, including wearing my watch on the right side, and I just never could get rid of those habits. I'm probably ambidextrous and just never bothered to learn how to write with my left hand too 😄

This was SUPER helpful. I was struggling to figure out how I needed to hold my hand to make things flow better. I still need to practice it a lot, but I feel much better about the prospect of the chuck sounding right now.
