WOW! I’m just starting my very first studio and these videos are just awesome! You guys are a great team! So helpful, not boring, love all of the attention to detail! I need to make a wedging table and purchase a kiln, air cleaner and I would also LOVE to know how you made those shelves! Brilliant!

Video Idea: Jon you should throw a bowl reversed, meaning you finish by closing the bottom. You would start by opening up the bottom all the way down to the bat and pull out to the width and then start to pull up and in to create the bowl shape you want.

Hi Jon, I want to say thank you to you for getting me back into doing pottery. I started out hand building years ago doing Tiki Mugs! It was awesome, but then I got away from it, until I saw your videos. They've really inspired me to get back into doing high-fire stuff! Also, dumb question - where did you get that Skutt Kiln T-shirt in the video "How To Make A Cylinder - getting more height on the wheel" ? ? I need one. :D

Love the work you do, you make it look so easy. Your Skutt pottery wheel, was it always that noisy since day 1, and does yours have the ssx upgrade?

Because Jonthepotter has such a big personality, I always feel like he's giving me the silent treatment when I watch his ASMR videos. For the first few moments I watch and think to myself, "What did I do this time?"

Watching these videos always makes me partially angry that I missed out & wasn't able to get into the pottery wheel art class in high school (we only had 2 wheels at my small town school, so only like 8 kids could be in a class each semester).
I love the luminary idea! I assume the clay is still workable pre-firing, thus the carving? Or is that only a particular type of clay?

Don't worry Melissa, it took me 50 years (last year) to get into my first pottery class!!! I always had core classes at the same time, especially in college during my woodworking major. Landed by accident in a small castle in the Czech Republic where the owner of a coffee shop has a degree in pottery and classes :) Funny world.
