Can I just say, to all of those shitting all over Wix saying it's a bad service etc, try jumping off your high horse. Please try and look at this from the perspective of other designers such as myself who have no knowledge in web design or coding, nor do I wan't to learn how to do any of that. However, I do wan't to be able to present my work on my own website and be able to edit everything myself with minimum effort. Im not trying to show off my web design skills or coding skills with my website, im using it for the purpose of displaying my work and helping promote myself. If you're a web designer, then fair enough, you will wan't to design and code your own website to show off your skills, your website in itself is pretty much a portfolio, so please, just get off your high horse and stop acting like Wix is this god awful service which produces the worst websites known to man. Let's just be completely honest here, the websites you can create on Wix are actually pretty damn nice if you ask me, and it's easy to use for everyone. Im not being paid to say this either, this is genuinely how i feel about it. If i didn't have wix, I wouldn't have my website because I certainly can't afford to have someone code a website when it's primary use is simply to display my work anyway, much like a lot of designers out there who this video is aimed at. I have tried Wordpress in the past but ran into constant problems, some people may prefer it, fair enough, whatever works best for you. Im really not up for a pissing match here with anyone. It doesn't matter to me how your website is made or maintained, as long as it serves it's purpose well and looks reasonably good, im happy.
It's like console wars with designers. Everyones moaning over what is the best way to make your website, but on the surface, you really couldn't tell if I had paid someone to code the website or made it on Wix, much like you can't tell the difference in graphics between the xbox one and ps4. As long as it works, it works.
Matthias TSI Well, he doesn't create websites for a living, he is just designing a website for someone and I'm sure he's not doing it for that much money, so hes not going to spend that much money trying to make it...
Perfect =) I ve bought a premium access 4 weeks ago on wix and i really wasn't sure how to start.. Thanks for this, i definitely will come back in the next days to watch the rest of the video!
Hello, I'm planing to build my own website with wix, and this video is helping me a lot so thank you. I had one question though, What is the width of you document in Illustrator? I only found the dimension of the grid lines...
This tutorial was only me showing you how to create the basic foundation of the website. As I mention in the tutorial, I will be doing more of these to show you how you can further develop the website which will overall create a nice and professional looking website for a designer. Once you get the hang of how to use the website builder, you can build a website for any purpose, just got to do a little bit of research first to see how similar websites are displaying themselves.
I dont like how elements change their place on the site depending on the screen size you are using. Can create something on my macbook and itll be different when view on my imac and vice versa
Please definitely do a tutorial on the parallax scrolling, that'd be amazing! Also can you create and publish a "free" website and then come back later and upgrade and change the domain and things? Or is that it once it's published?
+Ben Watkins yes you can do this, so you could build a website now for free, see if you like it or not, and if you do, you can purchase the premium version and get a domain and get rid of the Wix ads from your site.
yeah i have heared of wix... but i was affraid that this wasnt a serious Page Design creator because here in germany you pronounce wix like wichs (wichsen) which translates to something like 'to wank' Thx for the good vid ^~^
Well that's essentially what a font or a typeface is really, a pre-set style for any user to easily create something with, be it a design or a body of text, these are all tools to help people achieve a goal. Look at it this way. If someone want's to do it themselves, they can use a font or a typeface, but if they want something that stands out above most, they will find a hand lettering artist. Just like building a website, I only need it for a very basic purpose, im not trying to show off my web design skills, so I will make it myself. However, if i wanted a website which really stood out to the rest, then I would commission a web designer to build my website. You see how this works? Everyone can do it, it just depends on the purpose of the outcome. For me, Wix is absolutely perfect, it's easily to understand for someone like me with no experience in coding etc, i can easily add and adjust elements myself, whereas if i paid someone to code a website for me, it would just mean I would have to learn more stuff which frankly, im not really interested in. I hope you can understand what im saying here.
Thats like when I see a brand using a cursive font as their logo, it annoys me haha so yeah I completely understand what you mean! and no worries man, have a nice day! (Y)
May i advise not using wix... First time ive come across a Designer (a good one) using Wix lol. If you want a codeless builder try Adobe Muse, you'll have it with CC suite. Much more control that way.
+Tom Newbold thanks for the advice, but as a designer who is primarily focusing on hand lettering, I am just looking for a very simple website builder that's easy to use and everything you need is there, like the hosting and domain etc. I suppose it's just convenience. For how I need to display my work, I can use the features within Wix to do so and to a very good standard. I'm not by any means dismissing Adobe Muse, I agree, I would probably have more creative control etc with Adobe Muse, I just think Wix can do everything that I need for now.
Kade Hubbard it was just advice to help create a better tutorial. There's never 1 right way to do something but by sharing our knowledge we can all help each other progress. Wix is the worst of the worst... No hate :)
Because anyone can make a website with Wix with no experience needed. My personal experience with WordPress was an absolute nightmare, so I guess WordPress is for those who have some experience with it. Wix is just easy to use for everyone in my opinion :)

As a freelance webdesigner I cringe seeing people use WIX, but I do understand the point of your video :)
Matthias TSI Well, he doesn't create websites for a living, he is just designing a website for someone and I'm sure he's not doing it for that much money, so hes not going to spend that much money trying to make it...

Can you share the dimensions you used inside of illustrator to design the site?
Hello, I'm planing to build my own website with wix, and this video is helping me a lot so thank you. I had one question though, What is the width of you document in Illustrator? I only found the dimension of the grid lines...
did you just use random dimensions when you were designing it on illustrator. if so could you tell me what dimensions you used please. thanks
Nice tutorial :) will you do more tutorial like that? and where and what are you studing?
hello Ste do you mind providing the PSD to the website that you made, I would love to look at it closely so, I can build something similar....
Wait, you don't have a million sub's yet? I thought I defiantly should have happened by now
I love your videos and you channel, but a "professional-looking website" is a bit of an overstatement here.
This tutorial was only me showing you how to create the basic foundation of the website. How much do you charge to make a professional logo?
I dont like how elements change their place on the site depending on the screen size you are using. Can create something on my macbook and itll be different when view on my imac and vice versa

Ben Watkins devtips has a good series on that, I recommend you check it out.
+Ben Watkins yes you can do this, so you could build a website now for free, see if you like it or not, and if you do, you can purchase the premium version and get a domain and get rid of the Wix ads from your site.
Okay that's great, and please do a tutorial for the parallax scrolling because that's something I'd love to have on my website!
Is there a way 2 upload your own fonts on wix?
I really like your videos and designs you are my favorite designer😏. (From Germany)
Your voice is heaven haha
Isn't that the armagan videos picture?
yeah i have heared of wix... but i was affraid that this wasnt a serious Page Design creator because here in germany you pronounce wix like wichs (wichsen) which translates to something like 'to wank'

The breaking bad marathon?
or learn html :)
Please read my other posts before suggesting learn HTML :)
But look at it this way: Imagine there is a website that creates custom lettering. It would suck, right?
Well that's essentially what a font or a typeface is really, a pre-set style for any user to easily create something with, be it a design or a body of text, these are all tools to help people achieve a goal. I understand, But as an upcoming web designer, it sucks to see people get an easy website with Wix. Thanks for your response! Love your work :)
Thats like when I see a brand using a cursive font as their logo, it annoys me haha so yeah I completely understand what you mean! and no worries man, have a nice day! (Y)
Yes!
Always wanted a tutorial like that, gonna watch the whole video in a bit. Im sure you worked hard on it, Thank you!

Tom Newbold he doesn't make websites for a living XD use your brain dude, he's just trying to make this simple and easy...
Kade Hubbard it was just advice to help create a better tutorial. There's never 1 right way to do something but by sharing our knowledge we can all help each other progress. Wix is the worst of the worst... No hate :)
how did you make the mouse arrow move quickly ?? ❤
What do you mean about Adobe Muse?
Is WIX free?
why use wix if you can use WordPress?
Because anyone can make a website with Wix with no experience needed. My personal experience with WordPress was an absolute nightmare, so I guess WordPress is for those who have some experience with it. Wix is just easy to use for everyone in my opinion :)
Thank you for the tutorial! Been trying to make my own website with wix and was confused a bit, this vid helped so much! Thanks again man!
