I was lucky enough to meet and chat Albert about a month ago after his show in Bognor Regis. Couldn't have been a more humble friendly guy. I told him about how I had to learn to play Country Boy for an exam at uni and that I can never get it quite right. He replied with "I can never get it quite right either." We took a picture together and he signed my ticket. They say never meet your heroes but I'm so glad I did! Keep playing Albert!
I met him too about 6 years ago..and on the same day I also met James Burton and Roland White ..Clarence White’s brother..It sure was an inspired and inspiring day.
I have a signed copy of this record. Soooo supreme. These cuts absolutely rip, down to the bone. Now and then it's gonna rain is a great race track tune. Definitely on my Grand Prix and Indy 500 playlist.
Maybe not one for the Albert Lee purists, but an album I've always loved. His voice is as great as his guitar playing here. Title track breaks my heart every time.
Albert Lee - Hiding [Full Album] (1979) Hiding (1979) is the debut long-player from multi-instrumentalist Albert Lee (guitar/keyboards/bass/mandolin/vocals).
