I love MJs decks and I just received this one, reading through the guidebook some of the stories are really heavy. I can't wait to see how this is going to read for me especially if you integrate pieces of the stories into the reading .

I have this first edition and love the deck. I’ve found that the stories have stayed with me ... I do have most of MJs indie decks which is a real luxury for me when shipping to UK is included. Thankyou for your review...and such a sensitive intriduction
This deck is gorgeous and so deep in its energy. I loooove that the Queens and Kings make up that direct pair. And I really fell in love with the way that some cards are depicted like the 9 of Wands, the 4/5/7 of Swords, Justice, Death... MJ Cullinan has a way of depicting the meaning of cards that is still easily recognizable based on the RWS and therefore easily accessable but just takes a little bit of a twist that adds sth to that or gives it a slightly new perspective/angle of looking at it. Also really love that it's themed around death. There's surprisingly not really a lot of decks around that topic even though it is a huge topic to explore and it's a topic that we all live with. Hope that she makes another print run since this would be an amazing deck for me being in my death card year.
I wonder if the pentacles have that mist effect because the people are still in the physical world? And maybe it's showing the moments before their death? Anyway this deck looks beautiful and the subject matter is so compelling! I don't have any of MJs other decks because her art style just doesn't quite connect with me, but I might have to pick this one up...
Some cards are absolutely stunning, like Death and Star for example. But still this is not a deck for me. Wondering if some cards have more of a shadow meaning as they are so different from usual. Also many cards look too modern. I can handle tiny bit modern stuff but not much in my cards. All and all very beautiful art!
Since moving to the Grand Canyon I hv become obsessed w crows & ravens. I hv been trying to control myself n NOT buy all of MJ’s crow decks. But this one is just calling me. I’m sure tht losing 8 family members in the last 6 yrs has something to do w it. I hv soooo many repressed feelings about all that loss. Let’s just say that Denial is my happy place. It allows me to make it through a reg day. As much as I want this deck, I’m honestly a bit scared🥹
I think when I realize that every card represents how somebody died (like the Queen of Wands either fell off her tightrope or died in a fire in the circus tent), I'm kind of turned off. I'm intrigued by considering whether ghosts exist, but I'd rather focus on their energy on the other side than on how they died. I think I'll skip this one, but thanks for sharing them so I could make my choice.
