Great Video. Thx 4 taking the long ride & hike. Just got back from checking out Chaco Canyon and Mesa Verde. Totally Awesome, Amazing & Fascinating. Oh to go back in time & Observe... Good job...
where are you going to get water? I'm looking for bird activity or some indication that there might be a catchment (natural) in the area that collects storm water. I don't see anything.
Someone mentioned a feeling of wonder and awe. He is right. You captured it perfectly, especially when you pointed out the hand prints in the mud. That really Wowed me. God Bless.
Bears Ears in Utah has an estimated 250k archaeological sites. Locations and numbers aren't publicly advertised in order to avoid looting. It's best to leave items in place and not even touch the bricks or man made pieces found. Take a picture and move on. As we learn more about the earliest persons in the America's we also learn that we understand less than we thought. There are likely millions of small archaeological sites across North America.
Beautiful, as a Site Stewart in Arizona giving the location is always discouraged so less traffic to not destroy the pristine site .You can always tell the Archeological Conservative in the Area to see if it has been studied and recorded
Devils Chasm! I have been there a couple of times in my wanderlust. Great hike but make sure you go in the early spring or even winter. Quite a few rattle snakes.
How incredible! Why didn't you go farther in the caves? Kinda scary by your self! Bats and ammonia? I'd love to ask you some more questions! Bringing my wife and daughter to 4 Corn this fall. My Grandparent's Ranch was by Winona & Walnut Canyon NM was really close, i loved adventuring thru the ruins and caves on their place! Cherrs jp
This is in Pueblo Canyon in the Sierra Ancha's northeast of Roosevelt Lake and above Cherry Creek. Just Google it they are very easy to find. The old mine is from the 40's and it was Uranium.
Mike Henry , I guess the aranea miners probably messed around with anything cool like found or changed the cliff dwellings a bit? I just wonder what scared them so bad they had to get so defensive postures?
Woah! Unbelievable!!! Can you even imagine? Thank you for posting! Now I don’t have to travel 20 miles of bad road and ruin my car to see this lol. Is this in flagstaff or up north?
"Remotely" is relative. There was no Phoenix or Tucson or Flagstaff at the time. the population density was very low. You could say everywhere was remote.
@@hankfrankly7240 there is an abundance of fire wood, water is probably available via a natural spring nearby and the growing of foods was done on lower levels. Mesa Verde is a good example. The people who lived there actually lived in pit houses above the cliff for 1000's of yhears before the cliff dwellings were built. Living, growing crops, community activities continued to occur above the cliff dwellings. Each family seems to have had one room to use for storage, burial, living in harsh weather or protection against enemies...but the small rooms were not likely permanent 'houses.' Same here. We can only see what the camera on this helmet is pointing at, but there was probably suitable terrain nearby for growing. Also some of these locations were likely used seasonally or during trade travel. We can only know so much and learn a little more every year.
Come now people sit down by the fire and think just for a moment! Back long ago when things were wild and you heard wolves and coyotes cry and mountain lions scream and bobcats and Lynx cry out and other animals making their sounds to A Primitive and wild world that place high up was in the sunshine far above much trouble far away from roving bands of possible dangerous Frontier Indian bass Warriors and criminals who would kill for food clothing tools utensils women children. You could leave your women and your old people up there where it was safe in the men can go on hunting trips game was plentiful in those days everywhere and there was fish in those creeks and rivers Dot and the vegetables grew in that pristine soil and there were seeps in Springs where they could plant and grow their crops along Creeks rivers and spring seeps in large and small plots naked travel many miles to grow corn and other vegetables and up in those Cliffs they could store their grains there corn for a long. Of time also notice and look at the blackening of some of the ceilings and walls where they had Fires for heat cooking and Light we will never know all the details until the resurrection of the Dead occurs and then you can ask them face-to-face and hand-to-hand but put yourself back in awhile in primitive world and look up and say what a place of security in warmth perhaps in the winter time in the Sun up there protected from snow and rain. The difficulty of getting there remember you had many Helping Hands
Yes but also imagine how cool it was before the Headhunters Got here to America? the federal government was and still is the biggest enemy of mankind! proof is in the pudding! take a good look today at what's happening in the world!who is in control of those puppets ?saten
Thank You. I'm a photographer and thought the very same thing when I saw her. I asked her parents if I could take her picture, and added a dark finish to it, and this was the result. she was adorable.
Awesome place. Thanks for sharing.

There definitely have to be cliff dwellings in the Grand Canyon. Makes me think that Kincaid was telling the truth all along about his discovery.
What a place to live , nice view . Thank you
How old are these dwellings?

What city and what road can I find these. I want to go.
What was their concern to live so remotely? Food, water, firewood, etc. seems problematic. Did they have enemies to defend against?
"Remotely" is relative. There was no Phoenix or Tucson or Flagstaff at the time. the population density was very low. You could say everywhere was remote.
Evidently you didn't understand my question and only addressed the semantics of my sentence.

Indians are from INDIA!!! A typical Foreigner using the Typical Colonizer Foreign term to reference Native People!!
actually in Canada now it's "First Nations"...........and people from India are "East Indian".
A drone could be there in minutes.
