Great review! One thing to point out, the Double Single is actually a blend of one single malt and one single grain, which is really hard to do well, hence the name Double Single. It's not a blend of 2 single malts. I agree the Double Single is a wonderful whisky. It was quite an achievement by Compass Box.

Loch Lomond Single Grain Whisky is always 100% barley grain, so perhaps what Bart was missing & likes is the corn or wheat grain in most other blended scotch whiskies? 🤔

Here in Cambodia I always tell the young ladies I need some HEED.
The truth is my original 2 Scotch whiskies were Hedonism at $80us and Spice Tree at $55us ...no added tax.
Makes me want to go back and finish that Headonism I bought nearly 3 years ago.

By the way I’m staring at my bottle of Great King Street which says Blended Scotch Whisky. So I’m not sure why some people think Compass Box only make blended malts.

Don't forget Teaberry, the 3rd leg of the Holy Trinity of Gum. Lately, the only place I smell classy teaberry is in high end restaurant bathrooms. I wonder, is there a teaberry scented scotch whiskey.

Hey Bart, have you dummies revisited the JW Green Label lately? I just finished a bottle and although I enjoyed it, it seemed very flat. Plenty of flavor to think on, but I honestly kept blending the last cup of the bottle with different bourbons to try and bring it alive. Had some luck with a splash of David Nicholson 1843 in it. Any thought?
I still got a couple of older bottles of Green. May have to compare the old with the new
