- Bonjour à tous,
This week at the château, Terry heads back to Emmaus to see if the wardrobe he wanted is still there and just needs to get ash on side with it. Plus Terry is let out to have a look around he’s first brocante, which is never a good idea.
After spending 3 hours looking around Terry and Ash head back to the château with there new purchase, but will it be the wardrobe Terry wanted, a different wardrobe or something completely different?
Now it is just the heavy and hard job of getting our new purchase into the château.

We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Ash is a little harsh on poor Terry! Looking around and getting ideas or style options is all part of renovations. I know you are not at that point yet but it does not hurt to look and dream.
Ash stop being so bossy with Terry He is a grown man and can look at what ever he wants !!
Ash is getting some bashing here, but I think sometimes he is the voice of reason for Terry. But Ash you need to lighten up, some Us subscribers love the brocantes and charity shops, and buying things before you have electricity, like chandeliers and sconces are important, especially if they are at a good price. You have a large chateau and it is going to need a lot of lighting. Take a lesson from Stephanie at Chateau Diaries, she has been purchasing items since she was 17 for a chateau she didn't get until she was 29. Go for it Terry, look through the chateau rooms and dress them in your head, right down to what you would like to see in all the rooms, then present it to Ash for his input, not criticism Ash. And Terry, always look up, as well as down and around so you don't miss anything. Love your channel and love you both. ♥
Oh, Ash really revealed himself in this one 😂 For someone, who pretends to not really care about the decorating side of things, he certainly has ALOT of oppinions. "Right, so you do the decorating because you have the vision, and that's not my thing at all - except.... I don't like this, that or the other... Don't buy that, or that, don't look at that, Noo, thats way too ornate. You like that one?🤔 Well, I only like the other one! Lets buy that!! Lets go look here? Why did that take SO long? Oh, but - I don't really care about the decor stuff.... Its all your vision."😂 Perhaps, in future, you just go alone or with mum, and have things delivered 😂

It can take months to find the right chandelier. So you really should always be on the lookout and grab it when you see it. And leave mr grumpy at home lol
I'm not confident that Ash understands the scale and style of furniture and fixtures which work in your large old house. And I sure hope you inspected that wardrobe to see if it comes apart for moving. Most wardrobes are made to "knock down" for moving up stairs, and then you put it back together. I enjoy watching your progress. I spent seven years restoring a large 235 year old stone house in the USA.

Even without electricity, it's a good idea to look at chandeliers and sconces. You might find the perfect things you know you'll want down the road ... things you may not see again, or may not see again at a fair price. It's good to invest when the opportunity strikes.
