    Major fail: rodan & fields has a class action lawsuit against them because the active ingredient in lash boost, isopropyl cloprostenate, is causing ocular infections, swollen & droopy eyelids, swelling, pain, etc. They got around not having it tested by the FDA by marketing it as a cosmetic, despite the fact that they knew isopropyl cloprostenate has serious side effects that could ultimately lead to blindness. They failed to disclose any warnings because they didn't want it to hurt sales. Isopropyl cloprostenate is used to treat glaucoma. However, glaucoma patients are *informed* of these side effects and can decide on their own if the risks outweigh the benefits. Lash boost customers can't because they aren't informed. Isopropyl cloprostenate is banned in Canada. If you know anyone using this, you should tell them to discontinue use ASAP.

    I had a terrible reaction from this product. The skin around my eyes was so red and irritated I didn’t want to leave my house. I contacted my consultant and the company, and they made me feel as if I was the only one that had this experience. The company told me they would give me a refund but never did.

    I won't even deal with MLM products anymore because if you don't like them, people get so nasty where their income. You don't get the same response with regular companies and stores, who are more concerned with large scale consumer satisfaction. There are also complaints this product causes permanent vision damage. :(

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  6 років тому +1

      Oh yikes! I had not heard about the permanent vision damage. I'll have to look that up. I am honestly not even sure R&F have a money back promise on their products. I would think they probably would. I would for sure ask for my money back if I had actually bought this stuff. My lashes are still so short and rough looking right now. And I recorded this a couple weeks ago.

      I heard the vision problems came from the prescription product but maybe I'm mistaken. I also heard the prescription product can change the color of your irises!

    • @betsybabf748
      @betsybabf748 6 років тому

      The vision issues are directed to Rodan and Fields specifically, with people left with blurry vision. All lash boosters can change iris color in light eyes for some people. That's been a known side effect since they came out.

      I have greener eyes now since I started using Latisse. They didn't go brown but the green is more intense. I don't mind as they were really not that pretty before and they are great now. I am put off this product now. I use expensive skincare and the reviews I am hearing aren't that great. Some of them are ok. Most are mixed at best. It's very expensive for not much benefit. I think I will stick with the devil I know.

    I've used both Woo Lash and now using Rapid Lash without any progress at all. I just ordered a tube of Roden and Fields because my friends lashes are off the charts. I may not be a candidate for any lash serum at all maybe it's an age thing (over 65) and my lashes have never be plush all my life. Wish me luck, this is my last attempt and then I'll give up. Your opinion was tastefully presented... It is what it is

    My friend was raving about this product and how it made her lashes practically touch her eyebrows. The reason why she stopped using it was because apparently Lash Boost has similar ingredients to what is used on cancer patients (something like that), and her skin is super fair so she got these super dark purple circles under her eyes. I was honestly willing to try the product despite that because I wanted the results and have more melanin, but your review and the other comments have changed my mind!

      Active ingredient of this serum isisopropyl cloprostenate, which is a type of medication called a prostaglandin analog that has a lot of very dangerous side effects, some of which can be permanent. But because its labeled as "cosmetics" R and F doesn't have to go through FDA approval. Check out the class action lawsuit against the company. Take care of your health.

    Hope your eyelashes are back to normal by now. I’ve been using R&F for 3 days, but my eyes have had the burning feeling that made me tear up and I would wake up with crusty, red eyes. I’m going to try and return this product for a refund. All these stories about the side-effects of this product are very scary.

    I started using this months ago. Maybe in December, (2018) so about 8ish months ago. At first my lashes were amazing. They looked so pretty. I started to use it twice a day even. If I put it on before my mascara my lashes looked so fake. I loved it because they were real! I had a few times here and there for a few weeks where I would forget to use it for a few days and only use it off and on. My lashes stayed beautiful. THEN, in July (10th, 2019) I used it one morning and the outside of my eyelid started to burn. It burned not itched. My left eyelid and under the left bottom of my eyelid started to turn red. It’s now August (2019) and this same area on my face is still red. It’s dry like it’s trying to heal itself but it’s taking forever and not only that it’s weird. It’s wrinkly in JUST the spot it burned in and has been red. I’m 35 years old. People think I’m 27/28 all the time. I don’t have wrinkles and I don’t really have fine lines. But I have this weird red ring around my eye lid that’s made my skin dry. I’m so annoyed with it because it will burn from time to time. I tried a new moisturizer last night thinking it would help it and it irritated it more and caused my eye to swell today.
    I haven’t used Lash Boost since that week of July 10th. Within that week I stopped using it for a few days then tried one more time and it burned me again so I screwed myself over.
    I will say I tried Rapid Lash last week (August 12th, 2019), even with this nasty weird redness around my left eye. Rapid Lash did not irritate my redness and in fact in 3 days of using it I had several comments on how full and long my lashes were. I never got complements on my lashes when I used R+F.
    I am so disappointed and sad about my R+F not working and actually hurting me. I was really liking my super long lashes. But I think I’m starting to see the same results with rapid lash.

    This is exactly why I never trust MLM products because they are usually sub par mediocre or not good at all. The consultants just go above and beyond promoting them, and then silence all the negative reviews. I honestly believe they use tons of photoshop and editing to falsely advertise in the before and after pictures.

    I received R&F Lash Boost from a friend & had used it for 4weeks, saw amazing results, then started to see exactly what you experienced & I googled these side effects & came across this video. I thought I was the only one experiencing this. My lashes now have major gaps & they’re half the length they use to be & I can’t get them to grow back! :( Going to give rapid lash a try. Thank you for your honest review!!

    I love Lash Boost. I had major lash loss after struggling with thyroid issues. After struggling for a year I tried this and they filled in!!! I was shocked and so surprised. Lash Boost has given me my lashes back. I totally agree somethings work for some people and not for others. Nothing is fool proof. I love my long, healthy, full lashes. After having been so embarrassed about not having lashes it feels SOOOO good to have lashes again! Sorry you had a poor experience with this product.

    Lash serum don't work unless it contains a prostaglandin such as Latisse. Each eyelash, or any hair on your body, goes through three stages. The first stage is the only stage in which growth happens. So even if a hair doesn't fall out when it would naturally it's not going to continue to grow. Latisse works by keep the hairs in the growth cycle longer.

  • @findingyourwaytarot
    @findingyourwaytarot 4 роки тому +1

    Found your video while googling “does lash boost make your lashes fall out?” Because I wanted to see if other people had the same experience as I did. My first experience was amazing and don’t recall lashes falling out, although they may have but I might have justified it by acknowledging that I stopped using it after the bottle ran out. However, second time around, EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE AS YOU! The peak lash growth lasted for maybe two weeks, tops, and then the clumps of lash fall out and spacing with the random long lashes ensued. I realized there is a growth and fall out phase, but it simply doesn’t make sense, scientifically, that they’d all be falling out at the rate they were and in clumps, when they never would normally do that, long or short. I had to use strip lashes for a week or so that looked silly because they really didn’t have much to stick to and blend with. Now they are growing back naturally and I’m very happy with them. Puts things into perspective ... what I really didn’t appreciate was the defense by the RF sales rep. If it’s a client experience, it shouldn’t be argued with. It’s happening and that’s it.

      The amount of R&F sales rep vitriol that I have deleted off this video is epic lol. Blows my mind how defensive they are. I’m always like look, my damn lashes FELL out. You can’t defend that lol. I’m sorry this happened to you as well. There was a lawsuit at one point for this specific product. I need to see where it ended up.

      MrKongsMom 100%... just acknowledge that it happened and even if it was a miraculous coincidence, at least acknowledge that it could have been someone’s individual experience that truly happened because of it. Just like people can eat healthy and have an allergy to an otherwise whole, natural food. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    I have been using Lash Boost between 4-5 weeks. I have taken pictures when a first started as well as now and have not noticed a difference in length, thickness or color. I have not experienced discoloration, but my eyes do get extremely dry after using this product. I have watched multiple reviews and in their before and after pictures I have a hard time seeing a difference, with out a date stamp I would not be able to pick out which lash is longer. Overall I feel like Lash Boost make make lashes longer over time, but if I'm paying $150 a bottle I expect to see a noticeable difference at a glance, not a picture I have to stare and and possible see a difference with.
    It seems like most people notice the biggest difference around week 8 so my opinion may change in time, however based on other peoples before and after pictures I doubt it

    Sounds terrible. I'm glad you spoke out about your experience! I'm definitely not a fan of lash boost. It worked in the beginning... my lashes got super long within 1-2 months, but my eyes would get so dry and irritated from the stuff. I decided to stop using it every night, and changed to about every 3rd day. My lashes started falling out and breaking off mid lash. It was awful. Six months after completely discontinuing it, my lashes are finally back to normal and filling in.

    My first experience with Rodan and Fields Lash Boost was good. I had very short lashes and they made them long. Then I just got a lash lift/tint and they looked great (I hate to wear mascara so do this in lieu). Then I ran out and my order got lost and I didn't have any for a good 6 weeks. Then when I got my second tube, I had the same experience you did. I was almost in tears and contacted another friend who i knew used it to see if she ever had this experience. She said she did not and urged me to keep going. I did keep going and it straightened out and I now have longer lashes again. It does contain a growth hormone so you have to decide if you are ok with that. I am very sensitive so can't believe I can get by with using this but I seem to be able to and it makes my lashes long enough to get a lash lift (they were so short before you couldn't even see the lashes when I got a lift) and look good without mascara.

Every once in a while, when I feel like taking a break, I just use a little plain ol' Castor oil at night to keep my lashes conditioned. I’m a delivery driver and one of my customers has been trying to get me to actually quit my job with Fedex a really good job and start selling R&f 😱 she wants me to pay over $900 for a kit and says the product sells itself. Hummmm... pyramid schemes drive me nuts!
    Obviously I will never do that 🤦🏼‍♀️😳 I’ve got bills and a child to take care of and gosh daycare preschool full time.
    After watching this I’m happy not getting into this company!
    I don’t even wear much makeup and I’m turning 37 this Sunday. I only wear eye makeup and lips my face is just facial cream and maybe a tad blush or highlights shimmer powder I wear no foundation at all and my skin is amazing! Ppl think I’m in my early 30’s and not 37!
    I suggest drink lots of water! Eat healthy! And wear less makeup makes more beauty! Less is more! Makeup actually ages you!!!

    I read this today and was so excited about Lash Boost. I used it exactly right but my eyelids started to get red and itch. I did call and let the person know the problem but was told I was the only person that had happened to. Long story but lashes were beautiful now not as thick and I was not offered any money back. Just told as I said, no one had the problem but me. Now I read online there are law suits concerning this. Upset for the money spent but mostly what I went through.

    This happened to me while using lash boost! My lashes have big gaps between them. They are crossing over each other, growing all misdirected! But my eyes are also very dry, red, and inflamed now. I used Latisse for years with no problem and decided to order the lash boost for convenience so that I didn't have to drive to the doctor's office to buy Latisse. I thought they were pretty much the same product except Latisse provides you with individual disposable applicators to use on each eye. You aren't dipping the wand back in. I've been seeing an ophthalmologist for a month now and having to take prescription meds and drops. I am so discouraged, I don't think my eyes will ever be normal again.

      You should know that ALL lash boost serums have the same ingredient that is causing problems w/ R+F's LashBoost. That's precisely why Latisse is a prescription only product. That R+F didn't disclose this information is the big problem. And obviously, different products have different formulas, some of which may irritate your eyes and others that might not. But I too am really glad that @MrKongsMom posted this review. I definitely will NOT be recommending LashBoost to anyone going forward until this issue is resolved. I can't in good conscience! Thank you to the OP for this very fair and measured review. Eye opening (no pun intended)!

      Ingredient:
      isopropyl cloprostenate
      "Latisse has well-documented side effect potential. The main active ingredient bimatoprost is a chemical known as a prostaglandin analogue. Prostaglandins are chemical compounds found in naturally within almost all of our body's tissue that are responsible for signaling inflammation within the body. As such, it's no surprise that Latisse has been associated with common symptoms of inflammation around the eyes like swollen lids (also called chemosis), redness, itching, and watering."

    I am writing my from my husband's account, so yes I'm a chic. I have used this product for a year now, never used a lash serum ever. At first it was amazing. Thick, long, perfect everything I always wanted my lashes to be. I was stopped so many times by co-workers- Im a teacher, family, people thought I had fake lashes. I even turned my aunt intonitnwho has breast cancer and lost eyelashes, if pay for her's bc it is expensive. I had the red and itchy but I thought it was worth it. The last few months I really do my think it'sstopping working. At first it was the random long one, then the random bald stops, now shedding, and they kinda just stopped. I'd go through periods where I got busy and did my use it, I have two small kids, and I thought it would give my lashes a break. But now I'm just over it and want a better resolution especially for my aunt she's still in love with the product and I'm now worried what it could do to her long term given her health.

    I'm glad you said this. I used this, my poor mom paid for this for me. It was $150! And I got NOTHING. Rodan & Fields is a pyramid scheme that barely works. I have Asian eyelashes, so they stick straight out and don't hold a curl. I got eyelash extensions instead and like those way better haha

    Oh my goodness, I'm experiencing the same EXACT thing with Lash Boost. My lashes were growing and looking great, then I noticed on one eye, I have areas of really short lashes (like way shorter than before I ever used Lash Boost) and other areas of very long lashes. In addition, some areas of very long lashes are oddly curled and my lashes fall out like crazy. I'm devastated and so frustrated. My lashes were naturally long and beautiful and now they look horrible.

    Maybe it's just your body chemistry. I've tried all the brands that you mentioned and couldn't use because they irritated my lids terribly. But R&F doesn't bother my lids and my lashes grow SO long that I have to skip for a few weeks.
    You say that you don't want to bash a brand but you did a pretty good job bashing this product.

      I have no skin in any game. No channels, nothing. I used this once... I had weirdly long lashes ( only 2 ) otherwise it didn't seem to work. I admit I did not use it consistently.
      That was a few years ago. I am giving it another go because I paid so much. I am day 4 or five but I have to be honest- my eyelids are irritated.
      It has not deterred me from continuing... I have not tried anything else.

I've been trying to get brave enough to try RapidLash because I know you've enjoyed it in the past. I noticed on Amazon when I put RapidLash in my cart that they have a product called RapidBrow. One thing to know about my channel if you don't already... I don't edit anything lol. I don't know how to use iMovie so non of my videos ever have any type of editing, including adding pictures. I realize that is irritating to some but honestly I don't really have time to learn and keep up with my regular uploading schedule right now. I am not sure what lash growth you are mentioning because there was none from this serum lol (maybe the Rapidlash?). BUT, I did just post a picture on my instagram yesterday where I am giving my daughter a kiss on the cheek and I am not wearing any makeup/mascara in particular. You can see how painfully short and stubby my lashes are right now thanks to this serum. This video is pre-recorded from a couple weeks ago but my lashes have still not recovered yet. I am hopeful they start to grow on their own again soon :(

    Hi Melanie, I've been using Neulash for the past two years, and I've been very happy with the results. I don't have crazy long lashes, but they are long and full. When I put mascara on, they look great! I do get compliments on my lashes, so it must be working. The main reason I wanted to try a lash serum is because I was getting gaps in my lashes, and I wasn't happy with the way they were looking. I thought about trying false lashes, but didn't want to have to deal with that everyday. A lash serum seemed like the best option for me, and I am so happy I tried it. I love the way my lashes look now! I have sensitive eyes, and I've never experienced any type of irritation from this serum. The large tube is a little costly, but it does last a long time. Definitely money well spent! For those in Canada, it's available on line at Hudson's Bay. One more thing I forgot to mention.....it even improves your bottom lashes. I had almost no lashes on the outer half of my bottom lash line, on the left eye, and now they've all grown back in! It obviously transfers to the bottom while you're sleeping.

      Unfortunately, people think that when they hear a negative review, it means the product does not work or is bad. Every single product out there will not work for 100% of the people. Everyone has different skin, different skin issues, different allergies, reactions etc to things. In my experience, people who have had a negative reaction to a product has either applied it incorrectly, (which believe it or not, sounds silly but totally true)something as little as applying a bit too much could completely change the result. Or sometimes people just can not tolerate a certain product. Nothing out there is for everyone. But in my experience and my research, thousands and thousands of people do really like this product. I personally love it. I am disappointed for people that have not gotten the same results as I have bc I have gotten amazing results with it but I can totally understand that it is not for everyone. However the amount of positive results far out weigh the negative. So I just hope that people would decide for themselves if it is for them or not. Like I said, I can appreciate everyone’s opinion, good or bad bc everyone is different. I just love this product so much that I hope people would try it for themselves and not get discouraged by some of the negative ones without trying for themselves first. Bc I can not say enough good things about this product. This is the only product that I would ever ever rave about bc it has given me the best results out of any cosmetic product that I have ever used.

    • @mtdsmom
      @mtdsmom 6 років тому

      I am happy that you love this product and will continue to use it. I am very aware that things work differently on each invidual person. I am very happy with my Rapid Lash product and it works amazing for me when I actually stick to using it as I am supposed to according to the direction. I am not one who throws my money around with out researching it first. I have been watching @mrkongsmom since she started and think very highly of her opinion. It is like having my younger sister sitting with me talking to me. I don’t think she is just some random person that I found and heard one time give an opinion and I am going to discount the entire product. I was excited for her to try out this product and review it for us. If in the future my Rapid Lash quits working and I have to look for another product then I will go out and do my research which includes talking to my friends and getting opinions. Thank you so much for your concern and I am happy that this product works so well for you!!! Best to you in the future!!!

      Honestly that is kind of a major downside of this whole MLM thing, you don't always feel like you can go back to the person you bought something from and let them know about your unhappy experience. At least I feel that way. I'd feel terrible even if I had paid for the product going back to my friend and complaining. I'd rather deal with a company like Sephora or Ulta, instead of a rep of the brand. Buying from someone you know makes it a super personal experience and I just don't know that I'd be down for that necessarily. I'd honestly rather not know the person lol!

    I’m sorry that happend... I sell R+F... I don’t know why that happend to you, I guess everyone is different I personally had a little bit of both results, at first I noticed nothing, then I did notice some areas that look like I was balding in areas and I did experience a little of the funkiness I’d lashes going in different directions, however I didn’t pay too much attention tio. To it bc my eyelashes have bald before due to mascara or when I would wash my eyes if not using the proper eye makeup remover etc. However after continuing to use lash boost and I guess all of the old lashes falling off the new lashes that grew were definately longer and straighter and have been looking great... the food thing about R+F is that they know that everyone’s results may be different and what works for someone might not work for another which is why they do offer 100% money back up to 60 days regardless of if you return the bottle empty. I wish restaurants would do that... there’s been so many times I go out to eat and something I ate didn’t sit well w my stomach... that was money wasted... can’t send that back. I had the same issue with the curly lashes and an area where there were n lashes. I also have reddened and droopy lids and I am hoping resolves. Would never recommend this product.

      Stop using it! if you are having bad effects dont keep using it the prostogandins in the product causes droopy eyelids so if you have that it won't get better but it will get worse if you kep using it.

    My question is how long did you use the Lash Boost? When you purchase Rodan and Fields you have access to highly trained staff that know what questions to ask you to find the best solutions for you. The majority of the people that I know who have had problems were applying it incorrectly or not giving it enough time to do it's job. I applied false lashes every day for years. I did have a rough start very similar to yours...however, after 3 months my lashes look amazing!

      I used it for over two months. And I have been using lash serums for years. I know how to apply a lash serum lol. I used it in the evening after my skincare routine. I have never had lash loss with any other serum. Much less deformed lashes growing in. Thankfully my lashes are recovering. But I would never recommend this product to a friend based on what it did to mine. Are you aware there is a lawsuit going on by other who have used this serum and had adverse results? Some worse than mine.

      Funny you and maybe one or 2 others have commented this way, denying any awareness or that it is happening to more people than not! How do people sleep at night?

    Tbh I've never needed leash growth products i have thick long lashes already it runs in the family but on my right eye in the corner has been itching and lashes fell out in that one spot so i used it on that spot and I've accidentally gotten it in my eyes 3 times and my eyes have been blurry off and on since ! Now I know the side effects i WONT use it anymore !!! It helped grow the lashes back but then it also drys my lashes out o.0..weird..guess it's not for everyone but i don't like the thought of going blind !! And i already have blurriness on and off now..scary and very disappointing. .

    My lashes grew so much from this lash boost!! Crazy to think you had such a weird experience and odd, and honestly you said you’ve been using lash boost for years and I can’t tell that either.. also odd lol

      Lindsey Hurley now everyone is being exposed for telling the truth or not. She obviously told the truth as have thousands of others. Anyone who did not suffer the bad side effects would clearly at least be supportive and doing research, not making up their own false stories.
