    Ridiculous! Donner verb sounds fine.

The donner is very good for the price. The shimmer on the hof is a huge plus aside from the better sound overall.

I’d say that there a few points worth mentioning with regard to this comparison/critique video. Obviously, the two products are aimed at quite different markets. I doubt for one second, that Donner were considering that this product would be competing with the HOF, at any level. So, we’re not comparing apples with apples, more like apples with turnips.
The Donner is obviously ‘entry level’, and competes in a market where beginners, and happy amateurs, want to stretch their wings, and add some more textures to their palette. Or even those who maybe play out a dozen times a year or so, and find it difficult to justify spending a couple of hundred bucks on a pedal (or simply can’t afford it), when they maybe pull down a couple hundred a month, in gig money. Notwithstanding the likelihood, that for the majority of gigs, the repertoire, the acoustics, etc., dictate that a simple spring reverb, is all that is necessary, or even useable.
I’ve played professionally, or at least semi pro, for (scarily), nearly forty years. And In everything from punk, prog rock, country, blues, rock ‘n’ roll, reggae, to heavy metal, and of course, the compulsory cover band scene.
And in my experience, in the average live situation, a huge number of delays and reverbs are virtually unusable. And I’ve got, and have used (at least tried to), dozens, from $25 delays and reverbs, to ‘boutique’ models, costing hundreds, and more. I’ve lost count of the times that I’ve had to give up on the clever, tasteful, and often exquisite algorithms, in favour of something that will cooperate with the room, and the band. Of course, there are exceptions, where the space allows for much more sonic enhancement, and in those situations, I’m the first to bring out a pedalboard full of tantalising options. But realistically, the only place where such discernible differences exist, is in the studio, and/or the bedroom.
What I’m trying (perhaps clumsily), to say, is that it’s horses for courses.
As a gigging musician, I’m not going to bring my $5,000 pedalboard to a $150 gig, and risk someone spilling beer on it, or worse. Obviously, if I’m at a show where the venue, the show, and the PA system can make best use of the rig, then that’s what I’ll use. But a $50 reverb that does a half decent spring, in a half polished concrete room, where more than half the audience doesn’t know shit from clay… Bring it on.
I’m not going to comment on the gratuitous inclusion of the Specular Tempus, save to say that you illustrate the point, very well.
I’m not a hater, I like a lot of what I’ve seen so far, and I wish you the very best for your channel, so I hope that you can/will take what I’m saying, with that in mind.

Have both. The Donner is fine for a splash of reverb but HOF IS HANDS DOWN better in almost every way.

No question about it. The HOF is way better. The Donner has a noise issue for any settings with longer trails. Complete deal breaker for me. Although it’s fine for simple short reverbs.

Did you try stacking the HOF 2 and Donner Verb Square pedals? Sometimes can provide nice and surprisingly good results. Cheers

I have a few donner pedals and they are great for the price. They are perfect for a hack like me.

Why not just use a noise gate if you dont like the sound leakage

My donner reverb square sounds like it’s jammed or some thing because it won’t actually play what i’m playing… instead it just sounds like something is being hit over and over again it’s not right…

Is it possible to have similar sound of GFI system with this hall of fame pedal?
