Why would anyone be upset you use shot cups? Being a city girl, I think it’s brilliant!!!!! One for the lamb, one for me…another for a lamb, another one for me…
I remember the first time I had to go into one of my goats and untangle quads, I called my friend crying and she walked me through it. I lost all of them and they were colored so beautifully. Carissa - "Yeah, I just pulled 'em". You go girl! (Not saying this was her first time, just that I so glad she's comfortable with it). Happy that lambing has started - my life is better when Sandi posts.
I sorry, I don’t think I understand, did you have to pullout all four kids and they were stillborn? 🫤because the babies were tangled in the womb? I agree Sandi is always great to watch. I never in my 58 years ever thought I’d be interested in sheep farming!❤ or watching a Scottish guy ( HOOF GP) trim cow hooves for the past couple years now. I am learning so much from Sandi. I like Sandi’s channel for one more reason ~ she’s CANADIAN 🇨🇦❤️😊
@@HBADGERBRAD I came home and there was one stillborn out. I could tell Dottie was in distress so I panic called my seasoned friend. Gloved up, went in and there were feet and heads everywhere! I am sure it wasn't as complicated as I thought (and still think) it was, but as a first (and only) timer going in - it seemed like she had a dozen in there. I'm sure now (after watching years of Sandi), there were two coming out at the same time. I untangled as best I could, pulled two out and then pulled the last one. All were gone 😭.I bred for conformation first (dairy show goats) and then for color (on the Nubians - Alpines were a standard color). I also had fainters that I bottle raised with the dairy goat milk. Lambs are cute but there is NOTHING cuter than a baby goat!

I loved seeing Carissa in with the ewe and having helped her lamb. I'm super emotional with the Preg Tox this go around. Having a hard time not full on crying!
Hi Sandy! The blue tip that comes with your disposable syringes is to cover the tip. Right now you are covering the tip with your finger to prevent spillage. Just use the blue tip. I used to sell lab equipment for a living. Good luck with the lambing. 👍
Pregnancy toxemia in sheep and goats is also known as pregnancy disease, lambing sickness and twin-lamb/kid disease. The principal cause of pregnancy toxemia is low blood sugar (glucose). Onset of the disease is often triggered by one of several types of stress including nutritional or inclement weather. That’s what I found about preg tox!!!! I hope that helps ❤

I love the way you treat your lambs and talk to them. Hope all is well. She is a beautiful lamb
Nice blend of sheep care and fieldwork today. Thank you for sharing all the details with us. I am awe of you and Mark.
We love everything you show us and teach us! Caressa is a Heaven Sent.....she is so good and she has the best teacher! Keep the videos coming & can't wait till the babies start coming! XO
A list of all your tools and their uses - in large letters, posted to the wall of your work room would be one more useful tool. Just as a reminder of what to do when and for what. What amounts to use at what levels etc. :) You do a great job.
I'd make a "Lambing Cheat Sheet" to refer back to. Cheat Sheets are good reminders for so many things.
I like this idea of a Lambing Season Check List.

YES! But be sure to cover area posted with a sheet of plexiglass, so as to keep moisture out and easily cleanable. 👍
We love you Sandi ⭐ your animals are very lucky to have such a kind person in their corner ❤️ Hugs to Carisa!
Nurse here - the little blue thing is for human feeding tubes! Sometimes they have special ends that the blue tip fits better so there's less mess.
Many prayers for a happy, bumper lamb crop!! I love lambing season.

You two ladies are incredible. I am so invested now in your sheep! Stay well and thanks so much for the interesting and educational content. Carol T
I love way the lamb wanted to kiss you and say hello. Don't listen to others go with your gut. You will know more as you listen to your gut.
👍👍I am ready for lambing 😍. Hope you and Carissa have a good steady lambing and they are all healthy ❤️🙏🏻
Hello Sandi!! As always, I love watching your dedication and love you have for your animals!! OMGosh, Willow has gotten sooo BIG!! Just a thought, how about constructing a lambing 'utility belt' (like Batman!! Lol!) , only keeping all of ur tools u wish were handy at the ready? Anywho, have a great week!!!🤗
Sandi, the blue tip looks like the adapter to attach the syringe to a small feeding tube. Seeing the new lambs nursing on mama and wiggling their little tails made my day, it never gets old!
Love those happy, wagging tails ❣️😂
Best antidepressant in the world!
Babies have started, hope all is ok with pretox mama.
Thanks Sandi, your on ball with sick ewe. You and Clarissa got this. Planting is going on with out chaos.
Hope all goes smooth this fall!!🤗❤🐏🐑❤
I hope she will be ok. You are a good "mum" Sandi looking after your sheep. Thank you for sharing, you made my Sunday. 🧡
I never thought I'd get this excited over lambing!! Thank you sooo much for taking us along on your journey Sandy!! We all just love you and your farm! 🐑 🐑
You're doing what your Vet has told you, so...full steam ahead🤗
Good morning Sandi congratulations on the first baby's there cute Carissa is doing a great job
So enjoy watching your videos Sandi...may lambing season go well..😊
Yaaaay! It’s lambing time! The twins are too cute! Sandi, you are such a great ewe Momma. They’re very blessed to have you and Carissa caring for them.❤️
I loved seeing Carissa in with the ewe and having helped her lamb. I'm super emotional with the Preg Tox this go around. Having a hard time not full on crying!
Angela, not sure if you are having personal issues just now. But seems to me you could use a hug 🫂 🤗. Hugs are free. Hope you're doing better.
@@sharonnangle6557 Thank you so much 🙂That is so very kind of you! I am feeling better. Thank you again, such a sweet, caring gesture.
Hi Sandy! The blue tip that comes with your disposable syringes is to cover the tip. Right now you are covering the tip with your finger to prevent spillage. Just use the blue tip. I used to sell lab equipment for a living. Good luck with the lambing. 👍
That is so cool. We used Refractometers in school to show us the old way of testing the specific gravity of urine before test strips were invented.
I love the lambing. Experiencing the miracle of birth is so amazing.
Wow the babies where so tiny
Hope mum comes good
Love you guys HERVEY BAY QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA
Hi hi! You can get those shot cups in paper, with some even being compostable! Hope your lambing goes wonderfully! ❤
Aye, I was going to suggest that too :)
I think the alcohol in the solution would seep right through them, she uses what works best for her.
