I watched another one with her on it and I just love her!!! So much fun. Beyond funny and clever. Hope she’s still just as happy and bubbly now as she was then. We need more people like her.

I took the video in 1983 and waited until digital existed to convert it. This video was more than 20 years old when I converted it to digital. Funny that you want the distortion because I didn't. It was just old footage.

You are absolutely correct. I never lived in CA but I loved those Cal commercials. Here in Phoenix, back in the 70's, we had a car guy who wore a black hat and a mask. He was the "Lone Arranger". His sidekick was a hot babe dressed like a dancehall floozy. Her name was "Carlotta Sales". They were hilarious. I bought two or three vehicles from Fann Toyota. Owned by Don and Floyd Fann. They had a comedy routine at the end of which they'd jump up in the air. The good thing about Fann is that both owners were on the lot at all times. You have an issue, you could walk right into their office. I never did but I met Don once at a charity function. A real sweetheart of a guy.

Jennifer (you?) reminds me of Jordan (Michelle Meyrink) from "Real Genius". At first, the character comes across as a bit spacey but, obviously, she's a (wait for it...) genius. I would've killed to hear Jennifer say, "I knitted him a sweater the night before our date because I couldn't sleep", LOL.

I originally thought this girl was borderline mentally disabled, but it is obviously an act after reading her posts below. This is an intelligent and articulate woman. Makes sense there is a script. Jennifer, you had me fooled!
They had writers. For some contestants, the entire thing was scripted. But I think many, like me, didn't stick to their scripts. They interviewed you, so the scripts were based off what the two people said, probably to keep it clean enough. My roommate made me promise that I would admit I had been in a jacuzzi with my second date (different UA-cam) because he called so much. Even though I act like it was an accident, it was intentional, and not part of the script.

Also debuting this week was Press Your Luck, with Rod ROddy as announcer. Rod didn't start announcing Price is Right until early 1986, shortly after Johnny Olson died.
Rod Roddy was the greatest game show announcer on national TV.
When Love Connection began in 1983, they taped at KTTV Metromedia Square (which doesn't exist anymore). Then, either later that same year, or a year later, they moved to ABC Television Center (now Prospect Studios).

That's cool that you played in a rock band with your husband for 36 years. I've been playing in the same band since 1985. There are three of us in it, guitar, bass, and drums and I play the bass in the group. We're a classic rock band that used to be somewhat heavy metal back in the mid '80s. The guitar player sings most of the songs but I sing a few as well. I think that your two appearances that I saw on the show are just so cool. You're so funny and you have such an innocence about you that I just find really nice. Anyway, as I said congratulations on being married for 35.5 years. Take care.

This is the fifth actual show of Love Connection (which ran for ten years I believe). It was my first time. I then went on two more times and worked for them as well.
11 seasons and more than 2,000 episodes.

Drew Zuhosky It had resonance with the Dating Game and the Newly Wed Game. There were so many actors (female and male) willing to be on the show for little money ($75), that there was a constant influx of talent.

When I saw Brad Franchini's copy of a 1983 LC episode and saw that the LC set had 6 monitors (as opposed to 3 monitors), I always wondered why they had 6 monitors in the beginning and now I know.
I don't think I caught this show until about 1985 maybe.

OMG I wish I could get in a time machine and be selected by her on Love Connection. She seemed like such a cool women, funny, quick, fun. I saw her other video and she seems to give a guy one and she knows if the guy is for her or not. Northern Cal women rock!

I love this kind of soft look only a VHS can provide, the colors are strangely vivid, and you have a few interesting glitches here and there. I'm trying to find lots of techniques to distort VHS tapes for a project I'm working on. Unfortunately, I can't wait 20 years for the film to age. But thanks for the reply!

I can't tell if these people are just really interesting...Or if the entire show is scripted? I'd be disappointed if it was the latter.
After binge-watching about 50+ episodes of LC over the past 3 days (sick at home)….this particular episode (while hilarious 😆)….almost seems too kooky, too overboard with the zaniness (and I have my own little circle of bonified wingnutty besties)…. but it almost seemed scripted or at least eccentric characters were personalities assigned to actors…am I the only one thinking this?!?!

Having a focus on sex while denying it turns out to be a very successful survival strategy. Until now…But milk knowledge while you can!

chamboyette853 Too fake. I went looking for truth in a profession famous for pretense-because I was very confused. Finally realized I was looking for a scientist, who I fortunately found. Nearly 35 years of marriage later, I can tell you I made the right decision.
