Brother Gardener, I like your Style ! Your video is EXACTLY what I needed.!!!!!! I just got home from buying a second hand mixer, just like yours. I got it from a Market Place add. I have the Concrete wire and Hardware cloth all ready. I will probably reinforce it just maintenance
@@barryjanis It will save you so much work. If I had to make another one I would use some sort of quick release hold down clamps for the cage so it could easily be removed and put back on. I used perforated strapping and zip screws which is still removable if needed but just not a quick method.
Sir, I saw a guy who did something kinda like this. However, he reinforced the ends with a bicycle rims. Made it very sturdy. Yours works well, just food for thought. Nice job!!!
Thanks, this sifter is in its second year of use and amazingly still holding together and working flawlessly. I thought it would fall apart after a few uses.
Nice job of re-purposing what you had on hand! Looks like it works well, although I wonder how the dust it throws off is affecting your lungs. Thanks for sharing this video!
Put the leaves in a big container if you have a strimmer get a metal cutter and that shreds then really quickly or as someone else said put a lawn mover over them, the strimmer works fine for me and really breaks things down, I then put it all in a huge worm bin I have and let the worms do the composting

Yippie 🙋♀️ I have a cement mixer I bought at a yard sale.. and I have chickens… thank you thank you🏆
Brilliant and I have the same mixer for making potting mix!
Nicely done sir.
I like what you're doing
Genius!
Good video man! Looking forward to more videos from ya! What zone are you in btw?
Thanks Brad, I’m in zone 6, coastal RI.
I wonder if the mixer part would breakdown leaves. I have very thick magnolia leaves and I saw a leaf shredder on Amazon but it wasn’t cheap.🤔
What about running a push mower over the pile of leaves a few times?

Very cool.
I want to do this with my mixer, but don't have access to concrete wire. Nobody giving metal away...
Ride around new construction building sites, when cement is being laid down. Ask the crew
for a piece 4ft X 6ft , should work. Good Luck.
