The one trick that I am amazed by is having sleeve length align more with the waist. It just elongates the body and makes the waist look slimmer. Also I liked how the change from white to black top with white shirt over top really was slimming, provided better contrast and made her look super sharp.
Thanks for including side views. Other style advisers never do that. Furthermore, their apple shape ’models’ are always rather busty which helps in making the belly visually receeding. Big belly and small bust makes the apple shape much more tricky to dress ... and I know what I’am talking about.
What a lovely compilation, dear Giedre! I always value side-by-side comparisons; it's much easier to see the changes and identify which ones have the most significant impact. It doesn't matter much about the body type, as many advice point out parts we can constantly improve and changes we can adapt to our styles. I liked many, like the straight-leg pants. I still love my skinny jeans, but the straight leg greatly balances the silhouette. I also liked style #6 (no definition); the belt makes such a difference. I started to use belts a while ago because of one of your videos, and since then, I have acquired more types, and they're now one of my favorite accessories. And the tucking part, what a difference a tuck creates. I'm slowly trying to tuck my tops more. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Mary! Lovely to have you here once again❤You are so right and I totally agree with every point you named! And thank you so much for sharing your personal journey, I love hearing my content helps shifting the perception and dressing in a slightly different way, it is the best thing which really keeps me motivated ❤
Thank you! I love this format. You provide excellent examples of styling to enhance this body type, in just a few seconds. Much more powerful than streaming/discussing lengthy descriptions.
Thank you, so good to hear this! I was considering to add more descriptive explanations, however, this would make the production a lot more complicated, therefore I think having real visuals tell more and better than any explanations :)
What a great model! I couldn’t possibly replicate my stance on each take but she did the same graceful moves in the side-by-side comparisons. 😮 The V at the neck in several of the looks was a surprise! I avoid showing that part because of sun damage, but your video showed what a difference it makes to add those vertical lines!❤
I was also astonished how simountainlesly she moves 👯♀️ grateful and happy for every women I get to work with 🤍 and yes, necklines are very important in overall look 🫶
Excellent tips! Would you consider doing a video with less layered clothing? Being menopausal and permanently overheating in the summer, layers are a no-no!
I was thinking the same thing lol! I'm in Texas and 9 months out of the year we can't do layers. Add in hot flashes and nope. I have noticed just adding layers seems to be everyone's solution to an apple shape, even way back on What Not To Wear. They had a plus sized woman from south Texas that they just had her in jackets with every single outfit.
I'm a disabled, curvy, style blogger. I'm always skeptical about videos like this. I think they'll either suggest things I already know, or things that are hopelessly conservative. But I actually got some good ideas from this video. Thanks. It would be interesting to see style tips for people who are usually seen sitting. I'm using a wheelchair now so, though I can walk a *little*, people see me sitting most of the time. That really changes how I look and how my clothing looks on me, especially since I'm curvy. Sometimes I feel like a mushroom!
I would love to see outfits for those sitting in wheelchairs too. I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user and what looks good standing doesn't always look so good sitting
@@AutumnMoonlight95 Yes, I'm ambulatory too. I use two canes, or a walker, or my scooter, or my wheelchair, depending on the situation, how far I have to go, etc. So I look at an outfit while I'm standing and I think, "Nice!" Then I see a photo of me in my chair in the same outfit and I think, "Toad." It's sad, and self-esteem is part of it, but it is hard to style an outfit for sitting and standing.
Ladies, please let me know if you find any help with this as I am really interested. When I sit in my wheelchair I look like Jabba the Hut from Starwars
@@ABee-jb9vz I'm quite sure you do not look like Jabba the Hut, but I do know what it's like to *feel* like I do. Right now, that's compounded by the fact that my belly is mysteriously swollen and I'm going in for a bunch of tests. (Most likely it's my liver and fixable.) I have a style and disability blog, called Sublime Mercies, but I actually haven't made any posts showing me in my (newish) wheelchair yet. I do have a lot of posts with me in my mobility scooter though, which might give you some ideas. You're inspiring me to make some new posts.
I hear ya! I am not disabled but I also I wonder all the time about how my outfit looks when I'm sitting with my clients. I love a v-neck but feel more exposed in them when I'm sitting vs. standing. I think that my shirts slide forward when I'm sitting since my shoulders are more relaxed and forward while I write session notes. Also, the waist thing. I'm short-waisted so everything gets all bunched up and tight when I sit. So far, blazers are my go to for this situation.
Thank you 🤍 We see so much of polished instagram life (which is aesthetically very pleasing) BUT we do live a real life where white sneakers get dirty, silk blouse gets stained and etc. I am here to embrace and support every women and everyBODY with their personal and REAL life style 👯💃
Wow, this is a great video. You did a lot of work to produce it. I was most surprised at the difference that the black tops made. Also, I think I will get rid of all of my leggings after seeing #3. haha!
Thank you for the great inspiration! But may I ask, the last point "heavy tops".. what do you recommend, when it's really cold... And yes, blazer, ok. But what if I want something more informal? Thank you!
So nice to hear that! We did several transitions when filming but I guess this worked the best. It should look even better with slightly softer print skirt, but we work with what we have 🫶
I love how you keep her outfits and just change the way she wears them. Instead of sites where i would have to buy all new clothes, i can simply change the way i wear what i have and add that gorgeous see through white "jacket" ! I am tucking in more and then pulling out enough to blousoon which helps big boobs!
I love the model in the black straight shift dress and sandshoes at 6:22. She looks so youthful athletic and vibrant in this, the sandshoes look incredible, even though the look is so plain and monochrome! She is killing the curated athleisure vibe with flat shoes. Another great look is the red stretch jersey dress at 6:53. BTW, her dark hair looks perfect with those bright Winter colours.
A good video - i liked that the changes were small mostly and the original outfits were "plausible" . My only criticm is the replacement for the pink dress which is really cute is relatively plain and dull so not really comparable
Hi Giedra. All your tweaks made your model look completely different. The one with replacing the leggings was great. I liked the one with adding a belt too. Excellent video. Hope you are ok. Love L🌺🌺
The red dress looked great both unstyled and restyled better restyled and the pink dress was way more fun than the other one perhaps restyling that one as well .
I have a very similar bodyshape. The trick with the yellow blouse is cool. will try that for sure because I like to wear shirts like that. BTW i got rid of my full lenght mirrow because I gave up on fashion after I had put on weight. Will get a new one because your video gave me hope that I dont have to look frumpy with that access weight. Thanks so much. PS like the model!
That is so true about small bust and apple shape. I have slim arms and legs but I’ m big around the belly. It’s such a difficult shape to dress. What you have shown in your video is good for me. Still I have to wear a lot of black.

Hi! So nice to have you here again! 🙌 I noticed that women tend to wear belts on their considered waist, however if you put it slightly higher it is actually the slimmest part (right under the ribcage); secondly this is a better place in case of slighly bigger tummy as this part is not enganged that much when mooving; and third- make sure to choose not too wide belts, I would say the optimal is 3-5cm 🙌
