so i have had my lefty set from lazrus 2-pw for now 2 months and change and lets kind of chat about how i feel going forward whille watching some balls fly with my 7 iron
I just picked up 6-PW and the 52, 56, 60 wedges on sale during Christmas. Spent under $300. These are solid, really good clubs. I highly recommend the wedges as they are the highlight of the set. The back plate fell off on my 8 iron and I emailed customer service to see if they could send me a back plate. They sent me a new 8 iron instead. Great company and great customer service.
You know I wondered about the back plates. The 9 iron in my set I noticed was a slightly loose but it snapped correctly into place and I haven't had any problem with it since but I do appreciate knowing that they took care of you with that since that was a concern of mine after the initial opening. :)
@@everythingbros5510 I'm around a 17 handicap. It actually dropped from a 25. The clubs fit better so that certainly helped but I am also getting more distance.
I bought the full set of hybrids, as I am a senior with slow swing speed. Great clubs! I do still miss irons, so I brought my Taylormade clubs back for the 7 to the wedges. I did sell off my woods, so I use a Drive, then an old Taylormade Miscela ladies driver as a driver and wood. Then I use the 2 hybrid on down. The mixed set works good for me. I did change the grips to midsize grips with a couple pieces of tape to fill out my hand. I do that with any club though.
The hybrid roster I very much like as far as look! I have a couple seniors at my local club that have a few of the hybrids so I have gotten to see them. I think lazrus is doing good stuff for helping fight against the big manufacturers endless war to make golf unaccessible for the average person. May I ask if the midsize personal preference of finger length? I just use regular grip with nothing extra on all clubs. I don't have the biggest hand and feel confident with fingers touching my thumb line.
@@jakegolf The price is definitely a good price. I got the full set of hybrid clubs for less then $300. I got the silver version as I know ow the black looks great new, but will be prone to visible scratches as you use them. This is the same with any club. The standard grips just feel way too small for me. I feel I have better control with the midsize+ grips. I just switched to Oversized grips on my drivers. Again on all my clubs I have midsize+ grips. For reference, I use a large glove from most companies which is a nice tight fit. (Not too tight). The last pair I got, an off brand, I could have used the M/L, so shorter fingers.
I just got Lazrus irons 4-PW. I love the way they feel when I hit them. Easy to control and smooth contact. I actually love them. The one drawback is that the adhesive on the nameplate in the cavity back sucks and they fly off! Kind of embarrassing. I'm just going to reglue them back on because I do want to keep the irons.
I'm very new and not very good, so I've been playing hybrids in replacement of longer irons, and recently picked up their 7,9, and PW hybrids. Definitely value for money. If I didn't already have left handed sand and lob wedges, I'd buy a set for sure.
Thinking about pulling the trigger on the wedge set and a hybrid. I’m a cheap bastard, whose just getting into golf now. I’ve been using my dads old set from the 80-90s. Still happy with them??
Totally understand the stiff needs. By numbers I should use a stiff shaft. Or x stiff. But it is really expensive to go that route. .. especially for a lefty lol. So what I would tell you is they will work just fine so long as you're fully committed to every shot. With a regular shaft you can't lay off the way you may with a wedge. As lay off swings produce hard fades.
@@jakegolf Noted! When the time comes to retire my hand-me-downs, I will definitely consider this set. I’ve been hearing good things about it. Hopefully they’ll come out with a stiff shaft option by then. 🤞🏽
Hi Jake! A little late to the party but have you been still using these clubs and if so have they still held up pretty well as time as gone on? As someone that is getting back into golf, was looking into this set on Amazon as an option. However, was debating if I should maybe consider going up a price point to maybe $450-500 if it meant getting irons that would have higher durability if maybe the Lazrus' didn't hold up very well or maybe wouldn't last a couple years with consistent play but obviously it varies per experience. Even so this set + the set of 3 wedges for like $360 total seems like such a steal overall, so its a tough choice 😅Would love to hear your thoughts!
It's definitely a steal. I don't use them anymore as I upgraded to match my current level of play. The shafts are regular. So I upgraded to TaylorMade p790 with project x 125 LS shafts. However I loved the irons and still have them. They are super forgiving so if your not going to play every single day of the week to fully own your swing they are a great investment and club set. I played about 70 rounds.on them before I got my p790's. The p790 perform way better for me from 6 iron down but 5 iron up in the Lazarus were easier to hit.
I haven't used them. Mainly because I have : 50° TaylorMade rbz 52° Titleist volley spin milled 56° Cleveland tour action 900 Most are older but wedges tend to be more about knowing what to expect rather than pure pure. Mr. Short game reviewed the wedges and is also left handed so I trust his review
Well...I would say so. Ultimately when you're that new to the game it's more about making sure you're the most forgiveness so I don't know what the top fight clubs have as far as weight in the bottom of the head but I would definitely give them a a test
They definitely are the best cost-effective brand out there that still offers the same clubs available for left-handed players! I thank them for it. :)
I wish I could get them in longer than standard. My wrist joint measurement is stupid high off the ground. 40” so I need +1” and even 4-5* upright. Or compensate by going 1 1/2” longer than standard. Makes it hard to get clubs without ordering custom. I’m not good enough to justify that cost. I’ve only played for a year. I’m @ 25 handicap
I definitely agree but at the same time having clubs that are not suited for the kind of game that you currently have can greatly hinder the "non-serious" player. And ultimately we don't want anybody embarrassed because they're swinging blades but need max forgiveness

@@sukat0 would they be good for a 15 year old with a handicap of 14, I just need them for a year and a half

I wish they had an option for stiff shaft. Debating if I should get it anyway because of the value!

I see you miss off the toe sometimes. Is there much of a distance loss off the toe?
I'd say about 15/20% if I do miss it is off of toe. Good. Eye! Yeah for me when that happens it's because I rotated my arms through too quick.
Just bought the wedge set. Do you also use/recommend them?

I'm a lefty and I have top flite golf clubs would this be better and I only been playing for 3 months

I like your shoes. Can I ask what brand they are?
I believe they are ADI pure. I think it's a golf specific brand of Adidas
@@jakegolf thanks!

Totally understand that pain. When you get to a point that you actually need custom then you need to just get custom :( it's tough at that point
The only way to get better at golf is to stop watching UA-cam videos and go and get a lesson from a pro. And then practice
