Great player and yet his career was oddly predictable. You had to know when he won that dunk contest and was jumping out of the building left and right with ridiculous throw downs on a nightly basis in 2011-2012 that this dude is gonna majorly injure his legs or back and have decreased hops and mobility and then unfortunately fade because the rest of his skills wouldn’t be enough to compensate. Make no mistake, he made a legit valiant effort to become a better shooter and playmaker - and he did improve in those respects a lot - but when you’re a big guy chances are that jumping out of the building with freakish ability like that is going to catch up you, and did. I was staring at this guy on tv in 2012 like “he’s gonna be grounded by 30 with injuries.” He reminded me of Larry Johnson as far as his transition to being a more ground based player after injuries too. Either way, I respect the impact he made on the game and his hard work to improve. Lob city is still missed.
Could you imagine if Giannis developed his game like Blake did,the possibilities are endless.I did enjoy Blake's tour with the CLIPPERS,only seen a handful of his games with the PISTONS. Enjoyed LOB CITY too.

(I put it in quotes because his hand didn't even touch the rim)

I agree with the conclusion about Blake, he developed his game and is a solid all around player
One reason I’m glad I never got into basketball as what I want to do, is sports are the only medium where you have to stop because you’re too old at THIRTY. What rapper stopped at 30 Bc of their age? And yes I know that isn’t physically demanding that’s my point. The injuries and shit are insane yet these loser fans still spend all day booing and jeering and saying personal attacks they would never say to his face without a whole crowd between them. None of these fans would like it or think it’s fair if we judged them based on their personal experiences
Appreciate the video. Don’t appreciate the Two 15sec commercials on route to video
Loved watching Blake on the clippers it’s sad that injuries completely slowed him down to a role player now
Best Clipper of All Time
if he wouldve worked on his landing he wouldnt have got all those injuries
Injuries and durability is lot of genetics as well.
@@WW-nf3bj yeah it’s crazy, we see Russ finally losing some athleticism now but with the amount of dunks and falls he’s taken it’s crazy that it didn’t drop wayyyyy sooner
@@WW-nf3bj both ways.. Griffin needed to learn how to land safely or worst case scenario it could have been genetics as well.. Griffin had what it takes to be an All Star multiple of times and Even a Champion but injuries kept stopping him..
@@calebalexander7128 Look at Allen Iverson for example.. He played too hard inside of the paint injuring himself too much which cut his career short.. Some players got to learn to better their game.. nothing wrong with bettering your foot work or working on bettering your shots and shot selections or working on your defense and defensive positions.. all of that will potentially lengthy your career a little longer..
Great video
He could of been a lottery pick, but he was humbled to go back another year to continue developing as a player, oh and that pesky knee injury. lol these video are hilariously over the top.
Could have*.
Early 2010s were the best era of basketball for me. Prime Blake, Prime Bron. Shii was legendary
So sorry about that! 😂
He was solid as a Piston but it’s a shame that the relationship soured
He was one of my favorite players on NBA Live 2010 Damn am old 🚬😶🌫️🥃🍺🃏
a "rise and fall" that spans over 12 years is called a career lmfao what is this title
Correct
It’s another way of saying that, yes.
Mostly injuries did it man. But he’s still one of my favorites. Hope he gets a ring before he’s done.
Wtf are you even talking about. They have similar games except Giannis doesn't dunk everything
He’s literally a hall of famer
2010-11 All Rookie
2010-11 ROY
5x All NBA
6x All star
Man early in his career he was the nastiest dunker the sport had likely ever seen. It's crazy how fast his career went down the tubes. But hey that "dunk" when he was like 5 feet away from the rim but was high enough to basically throw the damn ball through it still doesn't make sense. (I put it in quotes because his hand didn't even touch the rim)
Blake’s dominant years with the Clippers is what I envisioned Zion would be like if he were healthy.
You just earned a subscriber
I see no Giannis in the top ten power forwards of all time 🧐🧐
Could we let the man marinate for a little while, he certainly has a very long way to go
I don't see Timmy either 😕
@@trollsworstnightmare3769 I didn't even notice that but wow they really did
@@yell0wberry NOOOOOO JOHN JONES I HAVE TOO MUCH PRIDE IN GIANNIS TO WAIT 😂
I really don't follow basketball that much. But he is one of my favorite players
Dang, sometimes even doing everything right to improve and reinvent your game just doesn't lead to the success it feels like it should.Circumstance and luck play just as big a part in basketball success as it does in every other part of life
Mozgov felt the dunk in the back of his throat.
Blake was my favorite player literally 😂 bro just lost confidence in Detroit
More like injuries took down his career
@@ObiWannaBrick31 nah he rarely was injured in Detroit he avg 18/21 ppg his last season , but you gotta think players who get injured a lot scared to play how they really want to bc of getting re injured
If you told me Blake wouldn’t be a hall of famer after his first few years I might tell you you were crazy. However, it’s very impressive he added the playmaking, handles, and shooting to his game. Imagine if he had a go to move in the playoffs!
His competitive advantage was athleticism, once that faded, he didn't stand out as a player.
going to a clippers game back in 2015 was fun to watch.
there was never a rise and a fall... he was just mid his whole career
Referee Celebration at 2:12 was hilarious
He made a baby with Lana Rhodes and his life went down hill from there haha
😂😂😂
Reminds me a bit of Grant Hill
I remember when people thought Aaron Gordon was gonna be the next Blake Griffin
WHO's Aaron Gordan??? LOL.
Araon Gordon??????
@@In-the-spirit AAARON GORDONNNN????
Blake is just under rated because he’s a big man that everybody expects to dunk on every play. He plays in his own pace and I feel like he coulda had something in Detroit if they actually tried to build around him but instead they traded everybody away. Just look at that squad in 2018-2019 and look how they’re doing now on different teams. Just wasn’t no patience 🤷🏻♂️ don’t @ me if you don’t watch basketball and just stat watch and listen to the meme media.
Kardashian Victim 😢
Love this series been watching all these and wasn’t subscribed my bad
He has all the talent in the world minus durability. Could have been an all time great PF if he were injury free.
As a lot of other pfs before him like Webber, Amare, Coleman, McDyess, J. O’Neal, etc,...
@@konstantinkoverchenko9587 o neal is a center
Blake came up with the name lob city, he said to DeAndre Jordan when they found out cp3 was coming to the clippers
Injuries make a big difference as we get older! Blake was an amazing dunker in his prime! He’d go up & his defenders would come down before him!!!
It was crazy watching the air/hang time !
He can hold his head up high regardless!
"The Blake Show" has a great legacy
He made all the money, and has highlights most superstar players never will
He is the Shawn Kemp of his day, only with a much bigger bank account.
He's fading into the night, but outside of punching his trainer, he's fairly clean.
I loved watching him dunk. Crazy two feet jump.
Blake won the dunk contest on my birthday. I’ll never forget watching that
"Lob City" Clippers
But since then I haven't heard much from Blake
Because he’s declined. What do you expect? Same with Deandre Jordan. Only CP3 came aged well from that team
Him, Stoudermire, Vin Carter....great to watch in their prime.
