I just got a short hair male syerain hamster and he’s so precious and we had a old 129 sq inch kaytee and I like I’ll change that and got it a water bottle for a new bin cage and my dad told me it torture for it he said a hamster can’t live in a bin but it only 390 sq inches but it better then a kaytee critter trail and he’s happy and thanks for showing how to care for him and just returned my hamster ball thanks

Aw thank you!!! I would say if you can getting them to hop in a mug or carry cage can help but some hamster's are too scared to do that 😅 in that case sometimes you just have to clean carefully!
I have been covering the peek hide using the box it came in up against the enclosure 😂 My ham nested in there and I don't want him to feel like he has to move. I might make tiny curtains attached to the outside to replace the box.

This question is completely irrelevant to the video but I’ve been having a little bit of trouble with something so I have a dwarf hamster and a couple of months ago I bought him a niteangels acrylic wheel that is 10 inches and he also has another wheel that he’s always had which is from full cheeks that’s 8 inches he really loves that wheel, but when I introduced him to the new wheel, he didn’t really seem to use it as much and he struggled with it mainly because he’s so fast on it that he just slips off but the other wheel he uses is a plastic wheel and he has no problem with that wheel I know dwarf hamsters struggle with gripping stuff so I’m a little confused! I want to get him to like the newer wheel, but how much time should I give him before I look at other options or other things to help his experience thank you!
@ also, I was kind of wondering if I should add anything to the wheel even though both of them are plastic and he’s used to that kind of material already but I was planning on leaving him with the new wheel for about a week. My hamster has an 100 by 50 cage with carefresh bedding and a 30cm silent runner wheel with lots of sprays and a huge sand bath . The cage has glass windows and bars on the top the sand is all safe she has lots of hides but she is climbing on top of the weel and monkeybaring also nibbling at the corners she is a long haired Syrian with a healthy diet I don’t know what is wrong :(
Females are very picky! I have 1 currently and 1 passed about 1 month ago. My current female Truffle isn’t too picky but little I have an 800 square inch enclosure for her (along with my other 2 hams) with 10 inches of bedding she when I got her she was insanely picky but then I started making her lots of boredom breaker that are easy and hard for her to do and almost all that picky-ness went away I also bought her some willow balls and put a lot of treats in them and she L O V E S them she is also very very very very very food motivated so this might be a little harder to do if your ham is not that food motivated 😊😊😊😊
Oh no :( Unfortunately female Syrians can be really hard to please, they tend to need a lot of space and stimulation and even then can still have boredom behaviours. You can try providing more enrichment and time outside of the cage but you may have to consider upgrading to something larger to fit more stimulation for her!

I have 2 other Syrian hamster (all in separate enclosures at 800 square inches in each enclosure😊) and my youngest ham is 3 months old and I want him to gain just a little bit more weight 🩷 also this video was absolutely amazing great work! ❤❤❤❤❤
Typically an omnivore version should be used! I think Oxbow does make one but emeraid does as well, this is made to meet the needs of omivnore species rather than critical which is more for herbivores. A vet visit might be good and they can also send you home with one of those brands as well ☺️

There's actually quite a few options in the uk! The hamster mixologists, bunny nature expert, RodiPet, Mixerama and chubby cheeks hamster food are all available in the uk!

You should get an ikea detolf they are cheap and you can transform them into a 1000+ sq. Inches or more cage!

Is the new wheel plastic or is it cork lined? Sometimes with plastic it may be hard for them to get good grip and a cork liner can really help.
