"The Best" Dragon Age 2 "This is War" Tribute

- I should probably start by clarifying the "The Best" part of this music video. I'm not saying that this music video is the best on the web. I couldn't possibly know that. However, out of all the Dragon Age 2 AMVs I've made these past months, this one is the best.
And that seems appropriate, since it'll be the last for a while. This GMV is officially ending my Dragon Age 2 Music Video series. In the last part of the the song, I also got a little nostalgic for Dragon Age Origins.

Metal as F*ck Varric!
I really loved the part where it sang, "the leader, the pariah, the victim, the messiah," and you blinked to the different characters. Nicely done!
I legitimately teared up when Morrigan and Varric's lines happened. This was powerful. Good job.

Ned Hawke: Honest Warrior who wanted nothing but peace and friendship.
James Hawke: A spiteful Mage who needed a revolution to feel whole.
Tereesa Hawke: A Little Rascal that loved playing around all of Kirkwall.
Brutus Hawke: Powerful and Sharp and vicious enough to get to the top of Kirkwall.
Clare Hawke: Reserved Warrior that kept her head on her shoulders.
Emily Hawke: A Bad Bitch Mage that eventually softened her stone heart.
Maka Hawke: A Kind Mage that loved so much her heart blinded her.
& Garret Hawke: He was, well let's just say he pissed a ton of people off.
You assigned the roles perfectly!
The prophet- Sebastian spoke for the Divine and the Maker
The liar- Isabela happily lied about the Qunari and the tomb of Koslun.
The honest- Varric revealed all about Hawke to Cassandra
The leader- Anders leads the mage rebellion
The pariah- Merril tried to be the Savior to her people
The victim- The tevinter magisters tortured Fenris to no end.
Well done.
Just about to finish installing Inquisition- feel like this is a good place to stop off for one last nostalgia boost
Is it any good?
Oh man, I certainly enjoyed it. I'm pretty loyal though- it was, again, very different than the game before it. A lot more free-roam and grind mechanics, like a more fluid World of a Warcraft.
If you like Thedas though it's still an awesome setting and plot =)
Auesomegirl pretty good.the elvhen aspects are the best parts of the game store-wise. good story. great combat. way too many annoying grinding quests which are a pain to ignore cause they clutter all the maps. kinda crappy armor (not many options). crafting is totally fun and time-consuming in a good way (but it would be more fun if there were more armor sets to craft). mostly great party characters (a few piss me off though) and a diverse specialization system. so basically its worse than origins in terms of storyline, characters, personalizing your character, and strategic combat but WAY better at everything else. just buy it. its one of my favorite games :)
+Malcolm Anderson Yo Malcolm. I did the same exact thing after buying Inquistion from Gamestop. I will always love this AMV, and screw the haters that say DA2 was trash.

I usually dislike videos like this for the fact that dialogue intervened with the music, but... Wow. The placement of each line is so perfect, so in sync with the music and the video, this is one of the best AMVs I have EVER SEEN.
All I can say is THANK YOU for making my day with this video. Not only am I an avid Dragon Age player I also am a huge fan of 30 Seconds to Mars. You were right on the money capturing Dragon Age with the quintessential stains of MARS music as the backdrop. It was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Joanne ^_^

I always have appriciated this game more then origins. I love origins and it's one of my favorite games but this one just has so much more plot and depth to it. The theme's are a lot more relatable as well as the characters. You aren't trying to save the world, just yourself. In a way the smaller scale make's it easier to build up a lot of depth. I'm hoping in Inquisitions they'll be able to bipass that though. :)
Ugh, it was so simplistic and linear compared to the original.
You think? Origins always seemed to me like: get an army, stop the blight. This one involved multiple plot lines at the same time, it was a lot more realistic i feel. Origins had a good plot, but it wasn't really anything new in my opinion...
+Laura Britt Then it seems you havent been paying attention in Origins. Dragon age 2 has a 100% less content than Origins.

Thank you so frickin' much for this video. I actually think of it as the best "this is war"-video, as far as I know them. You're the first one who finally connected the person-related parts (to the leader, the pariah, the victor, the messiah.. and so on) to actual persons. Alone for that, this is already the best version. So Thank you so much for this. I really was looking for this so hard and I'm glad I found this. Furthermore I really like the video completely, it may not be absolutely flawless, but it really send shivers down my spine. Great work!
im not gonna lie, this, out of all your Dragon Age videos is the best. Your timing is perfect with the transitions, quotes fit in when the song slows down or speeds up. To top it off you're pretty much giving your own trailer of Dragon Age 2 and how its connected to the first Dragon Age. Your video lives up to the title you gave it.

It takes some courage to go out and claim you have the best video - But, it's makes it even better when it's the truth - Excellent work - The Voiceovers are some of the coolest things that can be added to these videos - Perfect timing on all of them - Especially Morrigan.

i just started playing dragon age again after maybe 14 months. i missed the game and the companions. this is a really good song but now im playing origins,awakening, and then dragon age 2.for the king, for ferelden, for the grey wardens!
i really need to get away from game AMVs because all they do is make me want to play the game until the wee hours of next week. But I digress, this is an amazing AMV, well done good sir, well done.

Well, this was certainly the Best Dragon Age 2 video I've ever seen. Well done, you got me to start playing DA2 again and I thought I'd never play it again.
A well done video (though I feel the song's triumphant feel belongs more with DAO). I like that you use things form the various trailers that never made it to the game proper.

I enjoyed the combat (some minor issues), I thought the conversation system may have been the best I've ever seen and I liked most of the companions.
My only complaint is I think there were too many sidequests that's it.

@Utrilus the A in amv stands for animated. And since every scene in this video is basically a cutscene and therefore has to be animated, this is an AMV. Basicall, GMVs are also AMVs.

I had a problem with the story really. I mean, we only meet the final villain until the end of act 2. Compare that to DA:O, where we have most of the game to build up to a confrontation with Logain and the Archdemon

@Xerolt9 I personally disagree. First of all, the word anime itself is just the Japanese shortened form of "animation". Therefore, any form of animation could be considered an amv, such as the animated cutscenes of Dragon Age. Second of all, the term amv has grown to cover music videos beyond genre we think of as anime. Music videos with western animation are also known as an amv.

i think most people hate comes from the fact that the game felt too rushed and also that all there caves look the some you just entered from different areas other than that it was an alright game
