I’m from Edinburgh and take this route to work quite often, they did a great job and it’s very well modelled. Waverley looks pretty much exact to how it looks in reality
I'm from Edinburgh and the station is really well modelled. From the lifts to the ticket machines everything is true to reality... The road that leads down to the station is for taxis and in real life there is a turning circle at the bottom (probably the only thing that isn't accurate)
The green and gold pillars blew my mind, they are 100% accurate, even the generic coffee shops where the Costa and Cafe Nero are! Only thing that's missing is the homeless people on Waverley Bridge
Brilliant. I use Waverley Station all the time - it looks exactly like that. The ramp used to be for taxis - they could come down and turn, but is now (as you can see) pedestrianised.
Queen Street is the smaller secondary station in Glasgow btw. If they ever bring out a line with Glasgow Central it will blow Waverley out of the water.
Thank you BG for showing us this Scottish line. I also love the announcement system for the passengers. It seems that the brakes of this train are not very powerful or they are extremely soft! You could carry eggs on crystal glasses without dropping anything. umm unless you're driving The next one will be better ;)
The street (Ramp we call it) was once access to a taxi rank where platform 5 and 6 are now. There are 2 ramps (North and south) back in the day, traffic was allowed into the station for drop off and pick up. Enter by the North Ramp and exit by the south Ramp. But due to security and upgrade works, those days are gone.
The trains were canceled one time and as a bus driver I was on a replacement service, I seen a load of coaches heading down that ramp/Road, it wasn't until I reached the bottom and a member of staff was shouting you shouldn't be down here I realised the height restrictions, i was in a double decker bus, there must have been millimetres between the roof of the bus and the big clock that hangs from the roof of the station 😅
This is pretty sick, mate - really nice add-on :) I subbed a while ago for the flight sim content but I'm loving the train sim stuff too. So funny seeing someone from the US exploring trains I've been on a million times in real life - haha! Love it. Cheers 👍 PS Keeping my fingers crossed for a TSW3 update to the West Highland route to Mallaig - now that's some proper scenery 😉 - the 'National Rail' YT channel has a very chill cab ride video for that route
yes but the signal will probably change to red and it will fail you if you go through it, you can make custom routes on the scenario mode so you can sorta do this but again red lights.
