I believe the actual dance is going to begin in the next season. The show runners did a great job to get me excited for the rest of the series. Great scene. It's so sad that they didn't find a way to redeem Dany at the very end. That she didn't suddenly come to her senses before she burned that city, thinking "Wait. I can't do this. This is NOT who I am. I am NOT my father." It would have been great if Jon Snow's love for her would ultimately be her salvation.
Man, fuck Dany. I wanted to see Jon, riding the dragon named for his father, nut up and fight Dany and Drogon to save the people of King's Landing. That would have been the shit.
@@pnut3844able she wasn't totally cruel and what do you expect having dragons, they should be burning people (enemies). D&D messed up the writing, plus the fact they gave Cercei a romantic ending is just nuts.
Dany: oh, he can ride a dragon just like me. We're the only two people alive able to do this. Cool, what a nice coincidence... Also Dany: so you're Targaryen just like me? No way! How's that even possible?!?
There are a lot of lowborns on Dragonstone and a handful on Driftmark who are capable of riding dragons due to distant Valyrian bastard ancestry (this will be a major plot point in HotD). The Baratheons and Martells possibly would be as well if there were more dragons around. There have also been a lot of bastards fathered by those of Valyrian blood on mainland Westeros over the centuries, and even when they believed he was Ned's, Jon's mother was unknown. So this wouldnt necessarily by itself mean he's a Targaryen, just that someone, somewhere in his ancestry was someone of Valyrian blood with potential for dragonriding (be it a Targ, a Velaryon, a Baratheon, a Qoherys, a sellsword from Volantis, or even a brothel slave from Lys)
after I watched HoTD that dragons are something that must be claimed gradually. here we see Rhaegal as if he was offering himself to Jon Snow to be his rider and immediately connected well
I think their love story and Jon finally realizing (not in this scene obviously) he's not a bastard made the series so compelling for me. Which is why when GoT ended the way it did made it so upsetting, at least for me
After watching HotD, where they give more importance to the way dragons are trained, commanded, and bonded with, it's absolutely crazy that Dany let Jon climb on Rhaegal like that. It's the equivalent of going "oh yeah sure you can just go ahead and climb on my horse that has never been ridden before without knowing any of the basic commands and also without any tack to actually keep you on there. Just hang on :)" in the real world, which would most likely end in injury or worse. The fact that the writers thought this was possible with a DRAGON when most sensible ppl wouldn't even try this with a horse, shows a lot imo
The soundtrack of this scene is one of the best in GOT. It combined the House Targaryen theme, Jon & Dany’s theme with some fun kicks yet still somehow somber.
Not even Varys, that great bearer of secrets knew of Jon's true origins,so one can see the shock on his face when he saw the bastard of a northern lord riding a dragon
The way dragons are looking at Dany and John with approval ❤. Just imagine an ending where one of these two sits on the throne and the other one stands beside them with a steady stance. It's a bit cringeworthy, but we can handle a little cringe.
After watching HOTD S1 you can really feel the difference is sizes between Drogon/Rhaegal compared to a ancient and old beast like Vhagar; basically we thought Drogon was a brute force unstoppable dragon but he is nothing more than a tiny lizard if put againts Vhagar. Unbelievable. Can't wait for THE DANCE OF THE DRAGONS.
They are actually (drogon manly) on par with the biggest dragons size when they were around the same age. They are still vey young, but Drogon has potential to be one of the biggest dragons ever living on the wilds
This is one of my all time favourite scenes of this show. One thing that makes me smile about this scene is it looks like Drogon and Rhaegal are trying to put do each other on the flight, like a pair of competitive brothers.
It really bothered me how Jon rode a dragon twice and everybody wanted to call him a King for it but they totally ignore the actual Queen who raised all 3 dragons.. are they dumb or stupid?

This really shows how little Dany knew about her heritage and the blood magic that bonds them to dragons. Only Targaryens can bond and ride a dragon. If he wasn’t Targaryen he would have been killed. If Dany knew this information him getting on and flying would have given her a hint or suspicion of who is parents were. Time had turned the eggs to stone that she was given and she turned them back to flesh using the magic of her true Targaryen Bloodline. Watching her raise them over 5 seasons to the point where she could conquer thrones at the backs of her dragons had a satisfaction that goes beyond words and I don't think any other show could match that. It was a huge payoff!*
The reason why the first 5 seasons are good is mainly because it has GRRM books as source material. The story of House of the Dragons is already completed so as long as they follow the books you will like it most likely
@@jonathanbalderas1722 I agree somewhat. So far, I like the casting. Let's see how it fairs with the audience at large. Season 8 left a bad taste for all of us. Hope House Of The Dragons could rise above it.
I am heard nothing but good things so far and I have a feeling that this is going to be better than the sh**fest they're cooking over at Prime in an attempt to ruin Tolken's work and tarnish the memory of the original movies!
@@blackoutbymidnight did you like the premiere?
@@jonathanbalderas1722 *I loved it. Honestly, I had adjusted my expectations going in and I was surprised with the way the show was setup in this first episode, how it was written and executed and how beautifully it was shot. I was amazed how they managed to cram in so much without rushing the pace of the episode. All the characters and their motivations were extremely well established. You get the story arc and where it's headed. The first season is definitely going to revolve around the succession and the fall out from the aftermath. I believe the actual dance is going to begin in the next season. The show runners did a great job to get me excited for the rest of the series. Like I said, expectations were really low coming out of GOT and to be introduced to such great characters, especially Rhaenyra, Daemon and Otto was refreshing. I am all aboard the hype train =)*
But she was her father, and always has been. Even in season 1
@@pnut3844ableNope
@@pnut3844able she wasn't totally cruel and what do you expect having dragons, they should be burning people (enemies). D&D messed up the writing, plus the fact they gave Cercei a romantic ending is just nuts.
I don’t know why they didn’t let that clear in the show that only Valeryan blood can rides dragons it would make it more intriguing in my opinion
Sigh....I didn't expect a happy ending to this show but I'd have taken an ending like this over what we got.
That Drogon look at the end is just amazing !
"I'm watching you..."
Dany: oh, he can ride a dragon just like me. We're the only two people alive able to do this. Cool, what a nice coincidence...
Also Dany: so you're Targaryen just like me? No way! How's that even possible?!?
Epic writing
I love how John is riding the dragon named after him and the dragon gives him aluttle kick to help him up lol
Jon's real name was Aegon Targaryen the dragon's name is Rhaegal named after her eldest brother and Jon's real father Rhaegar Targaryen.
Y
@@michellematthews8312 I ment named after his father
The dragons were like, “eeewwww she is your aunt!”😂
😂😂😂
after I watched HoTD that dragons are something that must be claimed gradually. here we see Rhaegal as if he was offering himself to Jon Snow to be his rider and immediately connected well
A rare moment of dany and Jon just having fun.
Jon getting comfortable with the dragons like my friend getting comfortable with my pitbulls after I told him they don't bite
And then they bite tou😢😢
I think their love story and Jon finally realizing (not in this scene obviously) he's not a bastard made the series so compelling for me. Which is why when GoT ended the way it did made it so upsetting, at least for me
Rhaegal looking all happy like seasmoke was claiming his new rider lol. Like, yep. I want dis one.
Rhaegal was so happy to have a rider
Que é o primo dele
Watching these dragons fly raises the hair on my arms and wets my eyes. The best dragons that ever were and ever will be...
check out caraxes and syrax from house of the dragon
@@Nachtkalmar Not even close
@@HakaiKaien yeah they overshadow rahegal and drogon by miles
@@Nachtkalmar Desperate and cringe. They failed with those dragons. Get over it
@@HakaiKaien L take
After watching HotD, where they give more importance to the way dragons are trained, commanded, and bonded with, it's absolutely crazy that Dany let Jon climb on Rhaegal like that.
Tbh caraxes is cool and all but these dragons are my fav their designs just suit them appropriately
0:13 Hello there
I've seen you fight Death made of ice, Jon Snow. This is Death made of fire. Something tells me you are made out of both
Its so nice seeing auntie nephew relationships like these
Notice how happy Denny is in this scene.
The soundtrack of this scene is one of the best in GOT. It combined the House Targaryen theme, Jon & Dany’s theme with some fun kicks yet still somehow somber.
The dragons were like “Ayo that’s weird, humans are weird”
Not even Varys, that great bearer of secrets knew of Jon's true origins,so one can see the shock on his face when he saw the bastard of a northern lord riding a dragon
This was sooooo epic! I loved them riding together!🐉
Really was crushed when they handled his first dragon ride like this. Literally felt like it meant nothing. Or at least close to nothing.
The way dragons are looking at Dany and John with approval ❤. Just imagine an ending where one of these two sits on the throne and the other one stands beside them with a steady stance. It's a bit cringeworthy, but we can handle a little cringe.
Best couple in this entire series.
Season 8 dosent count.
I still think till this day that that dragon was not giving Jon Snow the evil eye but the eye of I’m pretty sure he’s a Targaryen
After HoD I never realized how small Danys dragons were.
Yes! Seems like half of caraxes size. Close to seasmoke.
They are actually (drogon manly) on par with the biggest dragons size when they were around the same age. They are still vey young, but Drogon has potential to be one of the biggest dragons ever living on the wilds
@@FelipeFerreira-wk5nv yeah, i heard that Drogon could potentially be as big as Balerion the Dread if he stays alive.
Drogon at the end is like - You better not hurt her, or I'll turn into burnt coal.
And eventually he nearly did.
I think he stares at him knowing he’s a Targaryen when Jon touched him he knows
Hated this season but seeing Jon on the dragon named after his father fucking rules
I love how this part , put rhaegal in some light other than drogon cause drogon was always the popular one.
1:10 what do i hold on to?? anything you can... and so seat belts were invented on that day after the maiden ride
Memories of riding a motorcycle in the winter comes to mind watching this scene. That's brisk!!
Exactly 👏
He is the actual king 🤷🏻♂️
The North loves Jon, Just like the East would love Daenerys, It's the same In real life honestly, The president of the US can have millions of followers. In the -US-. many countries outside dont bother to wink or concern about him.
They dont dislike her, they actually appreciate her, Its only Arya and Sansa who are rebellish against her, and It's the main reason I hate Sansa's arc for doing so. Imagine a Targaryen with 3 dragons who saved your country from extinction from the Night King, and then plot agains't her seat on the Iron Throne, lol.
the two writers are stupid
@@wake2312 they did dislike her because of her name, Targaryen. Not too long ago the Mad King was burning those peoples relatives alive, he told his Phrmoancers to Burn Them All. They were terrified of Targaryens but they also should’ve known that country was her families before any of those people were even born.
Imagine if Rhaegal survived, and accompanied Jon Snow back to the wall with Ghost? Jon still not sure about dragon riding but Ghost somehow riding shot gun like a champ and loving every minute. And Ghost and Rhaegal being besties
4:08 im watching you boy
They really just went raw on the dragons with no saddle. How were their clothes not shredded from all the spikes and scales?
This was the highlight of Season 8 for me… then it went down hill from there
Daemon and rhaenyra would be proud

I'm so sad, like only now after watching House Of The Dragons and knowing how dragons have to bond with someone. Seeing how Rhaegal accept Jon to ride him and flew off first almost like he was excited to have a rider. There's just so much wasted potential of routes they could have gone. I'm sad all over again.
03:52 Rhaegal is like "you see this shit Drogon, dude is kissing his own aunt"
Drogon : wtf!
He was able to do so cuz he has the blood of a dragon.
From this scene I knew Jon was a Targaryen. Because if he wasn’t rheagal would of never let him ride
Not exact identities but that there must be Targaryen blood running through him.
The show never explained how Dany started to control her dragons at all. Dany had no real control over Drogon at the end of season 5, at season 6, she suddenly became a full blown dragonrider.
funny how the dragons were giving him the death stare
... and they lived happily ever after to the end of their days.
We all know the real soundtrack to Jon riding Rhaegal is the theme to The Neverending Story
(FAAALCOOOOR!!!)
"Then i've enjoyed your company Jon Snow" Lol!
The drogon’s look in the end to jon 😂😂😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I mean, come on. They set up a dragon/rider battle between Danaerys and Jon perfectly, and then threw it away for some bullshit.
What this show's writers did to us in the end is criminal and heartless 💔 😢 😕. I still feel betrayed 😔
