I bought a clutch years ago for my A6000, and the plate was much smaller and did not block the battery/SD compartment. As a side-effect of that, it actually allowed me to put 3 fingers through it instead of having my pinky below the camera supporting its weight. I have more than a few Peak Design products, but I don't think this one is a winner. But your explanation was excellent, so thank you for helping us make an informed decision!
Good review Tony, I am in Brisbane and had both an i plate & L plate arrive a couple of weeks ago but yet to attach to my Fujifilm XT2 (i plate) & XH1 (L plate) Planning to use in conjunction with a capture that I added on at time of my KS survey. Going to pick up a pro pad to go with the capture for a little more comfort. Anyway wish me luck ! I am going away up to Agnes Water / 1770 as a testing ground for a little landscape / wildlife subjects. Great review by the way, very informative.
The 2.8 is great, the size makes it more likely for me to take it out on the go. There is slight vignetting in the photos but for the cost and size, it’s amazing what it can do.
The L part of the L plate will stick out the front of the hand grip of the Sony A7C due to the forward position of the screw so thats why they recommend the I plate.

Agreed, a klutzy and stupid design, for Peak Design?!
Great and informative video. Thanks and keep up the great work ☺️

Good review. Thanks matw
Thanks for the video and helping me decide this is one PD product that is not for me. Cheers
How is the Samyang 35 2.8 working out for you? I was shopping for the 1.8 but I love that pancake lens look.

Thank you, Tony. I have an A7C and wondering why you went for the I-plate and not L-plate?

if you have small hands, the leather might dig into the webbing between your fingers.
