Excellent! Very tasteful playing! I also love how your piano sound. Of course it's easier to record and mix with some digital piano or plug-in, but nothing really beats the character and liveliness of a real acoustic grand. Wonderful!

Daniel Rodriguez-Roig your description of neo soul is the same soul that I’ve been listening to for more than 50 years! I think the younger generation just want feel like their into something new.
I feel you I think what it comes down to is the rythmic elements are different. Neo soul incorporates a more pop type low fi rythmic scheme while soul usually has a pretty up tempo back beat. Hope that helps

At the first listening, I would say that the first chord progression in fonctionnal analysis is like a Imaj, Vmin, then VImin. I hear, like in typical neo soul progression, a lot of 2-5-1 (not necesseraly the full prog) and also some modulation from minor to major.
I min7 - IIb maj- Imin7- IVdom7 at the beginning. You could think that this Imin-IVdom7 is heared as a II-V, leading to a Imaj. I dont have perfect pitch nor my piano with me so I can only do fonctionnal analysis. So if the song is in Emin, you could think it leads to the VIIbmaj, or the new Imaj, so the Dmaj. But I think he's then playing a Dmin. So it's a IImin7-V7-Imin7 (à kind of deceptive cadence)
Then I would say from this new Imin, he goes to the parallel major, the IIIbmaj7. And then I think he's coming back on the I but playing it major instead (modulation minor to major)
Then he goes to the III of this new Imaj, playing it like a III7, a dominant chord but with minor extension(so it's the V of the parallel minor VImin). And then he goes back to the first chords of his song, which is right now the IImin7 (but heard as a I like at the beginning of the song). So to sum up, is starting on a minor tonality. He's weakening it by throwing a fancy but typical IIIbmaj7, then going back to the Imin. By doing a IV7, is changing his Imin7 by integrating it to a II-V-I, leading the movement to a new tonal center, a tone below our first tonal center. Instead of going to a major tonality like the 2 - 5 seems to lead, he's minoring it. He's reenforcing this minority by playing the parallel major. But BAM, he's again switching color by coming back to the tonal center but majoring it. So he's still a tone below the first chord/tonality, but now it's major. So it's easy to come back to the first chord, which is in the major scale of your tonality right now.
But be aware that my ear can be dumb. Also, when he's modulating from minor to major, he's not necessarily playing the tonal chord. For example let's say I'm in D maj. I want to go to the parallel minor, but modulating it to major. I can play Bmaj then, but I can also play E maj, the IVmaj of B, and to be sure playing a E lydian scale or more efficiency a B penta major scale. It's not the same chord, but your ear will hear the parallel minor modulating as well, and it will be the most important part.
