Basically, whichever team is in control of the ball, they have their offensive team on the field, and are trying to get the ball into the opposing teams end zone, where they score a touchdown for 6 point. Then they bring their special teams (kickers, etc) to try and kick the ball thru the goal posts for an extra poimt (to make a total of 7 points). Typically big guys who try to barrel thru and take out the quarterback whos going to be throwing the ball to someone to try to make that touchdown. There are 4 downs, (plays) & You have to move the ball at least 10 yards. If you move the ball 10 yards within those 4 down, your downs reset to 1st down. If u fail to move the ball 10 yards in 4 downs, the ball gets turned over the opponent. But each team has different players. There is the offensive team with the quarterback who basically leads the team. Then there are different players for defense. Usually large guys on thr line, and a few faster runners to keep up with the other teams fast runners. And try to intercept the ball. If the defense catches the ball, then it changes, and the opponents gain control of the ball......and the players switch (offensive & defensive) And special teams are basically the kickers & such who kick the field goals.

This helped me so much since I’m trying to get into watching football to become a team manager for my school football team but I still have a few questions... why do they have time outs? What’s a pass interference? What did the 1/7 points thru the u shaped thing mean? How do you know what player is what (like quarterback, and stuff like that)
I'll do my best to answer: 1/ Each team gets 3 time outs per half, giving them opportunities to stop the clock when they wish. This is most commonly used towards the end of halves, where a team is trying to squeeze in another score before time expires, and the timeouts allow them to stop the clock from rolling. 2/ Pass interference is a foul that is given when a player interferes with a receiver's attempt to catch a forward pass (i.e. by grabbing their arms, pushing/tackling them before the ball arrives etc). The ball is then placed at the spot in which the receiver would've caught the ball had they not been interfered with, and an automatic first down is awarded. Note: this is usually called on defensive players, but can also be an offensive foul if a defender is prevented from making an interception or a wide receiver pushes the defender away to make space to catch the ball themselves. 3/ This is an "extra point" conversion, which takes place after a touchdown (worth 6 points). This is a kick from 33 yards, and if it goes through the goal posts, the extra point is awarded. 4/ This is tough to explain, as there are a lot of positions. 4 downs, on fourth down you can punt, kick a field goal or go for it, if you miss the field goal or don't get the first down, the other team gets the ball at that spot, if you have a player with possession of the ball in the endzone you score 6 and need a "field goal" for one point it another td for 2 points starting at either the three or 15

why do they have time outs?
What’s a pass interference?
What did the 1/7 points thru the u shaped thing mean?
How do you know what player is what (like quarterback, and stuff like that)
I'll do my best to answer:
1/ Each team gets 3 time outs per half, giving them opportunities to stop the clock when they wish.
Following this link explains it pretty well: protips.dickssportinggoods.com/sports-and-activities/football/football-101-football-positions-and-their-roles

I learned about football from my two brothers who played in high school- it's a good beginners guide.
From the UK, watching this during the Super Bowl xD
Watching this video now because of Taylor with Travis
Watching this for my online PE class. This is why I stick to Basketball. Even the basics are complicated smh
4 downs, on fourth down you can punt, kick a field goal or go for it, if you miss the field goal or don't get the first down, the other team gets the ball at that spot, if you have a player with possession of the ball in the endzone you score 6 and need a "field goal" for one point it another td for 2 points starting at either the three or 15
This is literally so easy to understand..
@@Tech-cy9yo It probably has something to do with the fact that I am not invested in sports
This is better than watching soccer
agree 200%
lol
no way
Football not soccer..
It's called Football.
I am a girl and I'm trying out for my high school football team, this helped me a lot!
I really found this helpful, as in I'm going to be playing football in a matter of weeks. You've got another Thumbs Up!
I'm watching this because I bought the game in Xbox and I wanna be good
Nice videos thumps up if you agree
thump up
no.
there can also be a tie after one over time period during the regular season, or did they change that to a sudden death?
You're right
Collage football has a better system for ties
I'm an association football fan (soccer) and I'm just watching this before the Superbowl tonight.
We played rugby in elementary school and it's kinda similar tho you can only pass the ball to the teammates behind you.
In India, the sport is literally inexistent; thanks for the guide though :)
This is VERY similar to Fraser Davidson's animation. They are similarly scripted as well...
That's what I thought too lol
Yeah...
+TheConfuzzledCat I feel this one much easier to understand tho.
You have to admit, though, Fraser did a fantastic job, and he was more humorous.
no doubt!
Me being Australian and trying to learn the basic of this sport so I can play madden.
Im learning this for him 😭
Cool, ready for the Superbowl on BBC

salty soccer fan.
Bruh I'm a huge football (soccer) fan, but you sound salty af.
Better strategic game than SOCCER.. A much more physical game than Soccer.. More stressful game than Soccer.. Football 🏈 is a more mental and physical game than Soccer.. Football Players are more under pressure with the media than Soccer.. Soccer is more of a comedy than actual sport.. Soccer is more about whining than playing.. Soccer is more about cheating than competing 🤦🏻♂️
