Artlist still desperately needs STEMS. Also the ability to filter songs by key (D# or G etc) would be huge. But I'm glad to see they've implemented a lot of good changes since I last used them.
I'm going to have to second Mercy's comment on how wonderful your eyes look with the shirt. And the lighting. ON POINT. Thanks so much for all the info, Artlist link and your inspirational message at the end!
I recall the days when I worked in a radio production studio (we made pre-recorded music specials for Australian radio stations). We had to buy music beds on albums and it was a drag. Not to mention expensive. I we had a choice of 18,000 tracks we'd have been in heaven when it came to choices but in hell to go through the process of finding the correct track. I love Artlist
Hi, did you realize the terms changed at Artlist? They say at Pro subscription now: "You can download Assets as long as you have a paid subscription with Artlist and use them in new Projects and publish them only during your paid subscription term." and "You're covered to create and publish your Projects while your account is active. When your subscription expires, those Projects can remain published in any media, but any new projects will not be covered." So now this is definitely different from what you say in this video and as it was before. I've checked my song licenses from 2022 and they are valid for forever.
This video has been very helpful, stumbled across your channel today in my research to enter the industry as a free lance audio editor/designer. I've been producing electronic music for the past 10 years and I have decided to try and move more in the direction to make online income through this skill that I have. I have my first possible job on UpWork as an audio editor and for the job I need to find royalty free music. A part of me feels I'm attempting to enter a highly competitive and saturated industry. Any opinions? TIA
FMA (free music archives) I'm now using for videos. I didn't even have to sign up- just give attribution to whose music i was using at the end of the video...A yearly subscription is not worth it when you just want one song.
It should be noted that you still pay for 12 months and they give your 14. Although you have stated that they add 2 months at the end of your subscription, I still think it's in your best interest to be as clear as possible with your audience about the terms of referral campaigns.
that shirt makes your eyes look pretty. lol not intended to be flirty or whatever, just something i noticed 👍 i remember when you did your first artlist vid and i got a bunch of their ads lol
Hi! I try to decide Artlist or Epidemic and I have one question to you, please...If I chose Personal use from Artlist I can download music and use it forever like in the Unlimited or I can use it only for the period I have the subscription? I try to figure it out because you didn`t mention nothing regarding this. By the way...great video, very well explained! Big fan! ❤
One question: since I've never made an annual plan (or I've never paid for a plan for my channel for financial reasons), I would like to know if I can find the songs of: Alan Walker on Artlist; Ed Sheeran; The Weeknd among others? If anyone can answer I would appreciate the help.
Hi! No, licensing mainstream music isn’t available from Artlist. The only place I know of that has some mainstream tracks is called Lickd. You can always browse Artlist or epidemic sound’s music libraries even without a subscription though to see if you like the music! Hope this helps
Do you still believe now moving forward that Artlist didn’t bait customers to buy their subscriptions and then change their modus operandi to “ need subscription to continue using “?
maybe a silly question, but If I choose personal plan with monthly payment i can have subscription f.e. just only for August, after that in speptember I can cancel the subscription and everything will be fine? It is not that I wanna exploit arlist, I just wanna use their music for my home videos without publishing it on any social media and so on. Just to show my family movies from my trips f.e.
@@JosephMartin ok thank you, I just wanted to be 100% sure :) because in 11:30 you said "...and that's the reason why they dont let you pay monthly because then you could pay for one month and download like 100 songs..."
Great video Joseph, Im thinking of signing up with a "Creator Pro" Account, would this be able to cover my youtube channel for myself and my daughters channel, Much appreaciated
thanks for the video, currently I am between going with either Artlist or Epidemic ... honestly I like to go with a personal ( social creator pack ) with "" monthly bases "" so I can be able to cancel anytime without a yearly commitment... does any of these offer a monthly subscription with cancel any time feature? appreciate your feedback.
Hi janabi! Yes, both epidemic and artlist have options for monthly pay. Artlist’s personal plan can be billed monthly, while any of epidemic’s plans can be billed monthly. Just be sure to specify monthly billing when you sign up
If I get a personal subscription, can I use the music or sounds on my UA-cam account and say for my wife’s or sisters account as well. Just not sure if it’s tied to only my personal UA-cam account.
is there a good range of music though?? say I was going to start a fitness channel - do you think they would have music that would be worth my investment?
Sure can! It’s not built into their UI, so you’ll just have to contact them via email and they’ll switch it for you. In my experience they have very good customer service so I imagine the whole process is very smooth and easy.
@@JosephMartin I have used the personal monthly plan on my yt channel & Fb, I have not had any alerts, is there no problem that I monetize my videos with that plan?
My husband and I have multiple small businesses, which have accounts on all platforms, and we provide commercial video work to clients that would then share their videos on social. I'm not sure if this would fall under enterprise or simply the unlimited plan?
Buddy, I wanted to make motivational videos and upload on such as Facebook, youtube etc with different accounts So I'm confused which one to choose epidemic or Artlist. Please suggest!
I heard about this one site, where you can license very famous songs / mainstream music for one specific video project. But I lost the link, does anyone know about that site?
@@JosephMartin Thanks for your response. Are there any other sites out there that provide a similar service? Or is this the only one and for other titles you would have to directly contact the big music labels for licensing options?
Hi Martin, I saw this video from you & I was convinced to purchase a unlimited pro plan. Now I can't find any option in Artlist to sync or link my youtube channel & Social media accounts. I was searching for a solution & read a lot of comments that Artlist users are getting copy right issues & flags especially in UA-cam, Facebook & Instagram although they have a legal license & they have to take Customer support everytime individually. How do I solve this problem permanently? How should UA-cam & other social media platforms recognize that I have a license? Please help 🙏
Hi! There’s no need to sync your accounts. If you ever DO get a claim (which is very rare in my experience) then all you have to do is log on to your artlist account, download the license file (an option when you select the download button on a song) and submit it with your copyright appeal. Hope this helped!
From what I'm seeing, Artlist and Epidemic Sound are the same price for the personal plan, right ($15/mo and can be billed monthly)? And with Epidemic you get the stems, more tracks, a free trial, etc. Same licensing restrictions such as can only use the music with an active subscription. I'm not seeing why one would go with Artlist when you can get more for your buck with Epidemic? Or am I misunderstanding something there?!
Because with epidemic you are obligated to continue with their subscription, while with artist you don’t and can legally keep using their stuff even after you hace cancelled your subscription with them.
wait, so can i get a free license for artlist? Like can I get the license for free without credit card payment. So that I can actually download the music and use it for my vids if there is a free license. And also, after the free trial ends for artlist, will the license still be usable? Or if I use that music again in another of my videos after the license ended (free trial). Like is the music still usable in vids?
I have two complaints about Artlist The first is that they don't have a more comprehensive ranking system. Because there are so many GOOD songs on there, the star button is just tiresome. I'd love it if they changed that to at least a thumbs up/thumbs down system, or better yet a 1-5 star ranking system. That way I could at least mark the songs I don't like, which would save me more time than trying to mark the songs I do like. And also because it's either just 1 star or no star, there's no way to see if you've already listened to a song and didn't like it. The second is that when you download the songs (especially as WAV files) their naming scheme is kind of all over the place. I'm a bit OCD and so I have to rename everything I download from them so I can catalog it easily without my head exploding. Also, I wish all of the info about the song they have on the site (genre, instruments, BPM, etc) was embedded into the metadata. This honestly might be intentional on them though because they probably don't want to make it easy for someone to catalog their music outside of their website.
The ranking system update is a great idea! I think you’re probably right about the second part. Im sure artlist wants to keep their website as the most effective way to search/browse their catalogue
@@JosephMartin Thank you! :D will probably be needed. but when it comes to music for my project thanks to your video there is no question that Artlist is the way to go. that kind of licensing is powerful.
im looking to get one of these services, it seems that i can only use the content while i have an active social plan i just took this from their website: For now and for all future time. Eternally. The point is that once you created Projects using downloaded Assets and published them in your Channel during your subscription, you can keep using your Projects in the Channel and monetize them forever and ever, even after your subscription has expired. All of this, of course, as long as the platform exists and pursuant to its legal terms. Make sure you create the Projects and publish them in your Channel before your subscription expires. Upon expiration of your subscription, you will not be allowed to publish Projects that have not been published during the subscription into your Channel.
artlist also takes care of copyright issues with youtube. They handle it all. Their customer service is stellar.
Copyrights regarding their music right? Not copyrights in general?
Artlist still desperately needs STEMS. Also the ability to filter songs by key (D# or G etc) would be huge. But I'm glad to see they've implemented a lot of good changes since I last used them.
