I'll tell you what wins this for me...EPIDEMIC...here's why......as a musician, I REALLY appreciate the ability to download the Stems from each track. For those that don't know, the stems are the individual parts in a song, such as drums, Bass, guitar, etc. ...This changes the WHOLE game for me. I can download interesting drum parts and create new songs myself....If I hear a song with an interesting guitar part or a string Pad that might be interesting by itself, i can download those by themselves .....this make the usability of Epidemic LIGHT YEARS beyond the others. Last time I checked, the other did not have this feature, but perhaps they might. Anyone who is even slightly musically inclined and able to create music will find this feature worth its weight in gold
This was really helpful! I've been using epidemic for a few years and have considered artist and music bed but I've never bothered. I think for now epidemic is still for me. I recently found a "recommended for your channel" section on my homepage with epidemic sound based on the music of my UA-cam channel and I was actually tickled with how great those suggestions are.
Thumbnail 9.5 ... I have used Artlist for my business for a few years now. Being able to just grab a track and use it for which ever client is huge! My background in music production drew me to the separated tracks on Epidemic but in practice my clients won't pay extra for that level of complexity in the edit. So that made the decison for me. 👍🏻 nice video dude. Well done for being pretty impartial 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Watched several ones of these videos to add or switch from Epidemic to a more elegant offer in terms of music style and yours seems to me the most objective and I love the fact that you use all of them. I'm purchasing Artlist yearly subscription through your affiliate link, good job!
I am coming to this video from your "why do you look so WEIRD on camera!?" video and you are right, your voice in this video does sound higher pitched. It is strange how one fps can make such a difference. Excellent video by the way (only a few minutes into it), this is exactly what I was looking for. It's tough to choose which service and I appreciate your take 😊
Couldn’t have explained it better. I like to say musicbed if you film weddings, epidemic for UA-cam and travel/adventure filmmakers and artlist for commercial filmmakers. But one important thing to note is that music beds free trial only allows you to listen to the full length of the songs you actually have to pay if you want to download/license any of the songs. Learned that the hard way.
@@RCodyWanner yeah it was really misleading how they word their free trial I actually got on the phone with someone from Music bed and told them that they need to change their wording because I don’t see anywhere that explains that you can’t actually download the music in the trial
Couldn't be better timing, subscribed to Epidemic for 3yrs now, upgrading to ES commercial, Epidemic hands down my fav, they could up their "help" game, just saying.
Epidemic sound all the way!! It’s not only the quality of the music but the wide range. I agree totally with not using the same set, I find it difficult to use a song twice !! As always. Love the content and I’m trying to Vlog more myself. Thanks for everything you do 👍
Have all of the and I love all of them. My personal win goes to Musicbed because on top of everything you listed they have an app as well. It’s super convenient when I’m on set trying to show a client a song or a beat real quick, ESPECIALLY WHEN SHOWING NEW WEDDING CLIENTS. It’s so helpful. Thank you Cody for that breakdown. Super fun to hear your experience and what you like best🤙🏼
Thanks for this! Really helped me figure out some of the pros and cons to all three. I think epidemic sound providing stems is a big feature for me because I'd like to use their music for films as well as commerical work. Thanks!
Hey cody, thx for making this vid! Actually I got epidemic because of you and was sceptical when you started promoting artlist. But show casing artlist a little more in detail was very helpful! I get it now why you like it so much lol Thx again, stay blessed!
I know this is an old video but it's super informative! Must've missed it when you posted it but came across it now because I've been watching a bunch of youtube videos and shazam'd the songs and most of the cool ones were from music bed so I'm either considering switching to musicbed or just adding it on top of my epidemic sound subscription...also for epidemic, this was a little bit of a discovery for me because I don't really scroll to the footer on a website but if you press the 'genre' tab on epidemic and scroll to the footer it says "all genres" and there are tons of categories.. also if you hit the 'albums' tab there's a dropdown menu and that's where you can find the 'documentary' category you are looking for with tons of curated doc albums!!! I love that you can use stems in epidemic.. I use them all the time! so i'm disappointed musicbed doesn't have that. I also heard musicbed doesn't offer all of it's songs in it's subscription not sure if this has changed! idk if I'm just getting bored of the epidemic selection of songs bc I feel like I've heard them all and that's why I want to try musicbed...again, thank you for this video! super helpful
THANK YOU for this video! It was exactly what I was looking for today, and now I feel I can make an informed decision about which subscription to go with for client work. (P.S. my husband and I ran into you at the Lucky Penny food truck back in May -- hope all is well!)
love it!!! great to see you here in the comments haha! also, i legit JUST told that story (well, mostly lol) in my very last vid! did you see it, or is this just a happy coincidence??
@@RCodyWanner Oh wow haha! We hadn't seen the video yet but just watched it 😂 and just the other day we were talking about how we wanted some Lucky Penny.
I use artlist for my vlogs if I need music, reason: it was the first one I found and I just wanted something that wasn't the default youtube audio library.
Good tier list! I think Tommy Callaway did a video earlier this year saying that Artlist is where you still have the right to the music after your subscription has ended, where as not as clear with the other options. Will gives those trials a look!
Went from epidemic to artist cause I make UA-cam videos and vlogs but had trouble finding quality music for my freelance work without paying a crazy fee. So choose stylist cause that unlimited music License is a must since all my income comes from freelance and not UA-cam
What do you miss about artlist? I wanted to go with artlist because of their interface and video search options but getting stems on epidemic sounds is too good and they have a bigger catalogue
Epidemic is my primary, I have used Musicbed before - but I got sick of dealing with copyright hold ups. One pro for Musicbed is the music just sounds more 'real' whereas sometimes you can just tell a lot of Epidemic's music was made on a 2013 macbook air in a dorm room lmao.
But that’s the thing. I’m thorn between epidemic, soundstripe and musicbed The thing about musicbed is that it sound like true music! I love it. But everyone say that copyright strikes are annoying. What should I do?
I've got them all and those are awesome... Artlist and Epidemic Sound is paid by my viewers and I still have to pay for MusicBed which is the most expensive for my channel (39.99$) :/
I never tried Artlist (that's why Im watching this video), but Musicbed is waaay beyond Epidemic in terms of actual quality of music. I can see epidemic being good enough for vlogs or backingtracks, but if you want an actual song for a TV commercial Musicbed is the way. Of course I haven't heard all songs from both websites but Musicbed's songs are 95% pure quality in terms of songwriting, recording & mixing. On Epidemic I found it to be more like 20% of songs have a high enough quality.
I have to agree 100% that Artlist is so much easier to search for music. I also like their music a little bit better. I find Epidemic to be more hip happy. Both are great but have never tried Music bed.
Thanks for that, it was really helpful! I ad to choose extrictly by price, so I went with SoundStripe and it's been serving me really good, I'm surprised!
I wish you spoke specifically what "personal" and "business" meant. These services are kinda sly when it comes to that...and you gotta be super careful with the terms and conditions. To anybody who's gonna be getting one, be sure to read it beforehand. For example, on Musicbed you can use music that you downloaded only as long as your trial/subscription is active. If I've had their subscription for a year and downloaded 100 songs in that period, I cannot use them if I stop my subscription. You're basically stuck with them. But on Artlist, I heard you can. But, thanks for this video Cody. Do you have any experience with Audiio? Rn they have a $300 deal for a lifetime subscription. You own music forever and you can use it literally anywhere - UA-cam videos, commercials, all with just a single license. I just recently got it.
Love the stems, I’ve been messing with them a lot more and taking out certain instruments and like you said almost creating your own song. Big fan of Epidemic except the search. My bank charges an international processing fee as well but it’s minimal $.45 so $15.45 a month.
I canceled Musicbed because whenever you upload a video with their music you get a copyright warning from UA-cam. After that Musicbed has to clear that claim. Pain in the a**. I stayed with Epidemic and Artlist. Perfect combination
The other issue to consider is if you run more than one channel. Epidemic will only allow you to use their music on one channel or you have to buy a subscription for each channel.
Excuse me, I have some questions regarding epidemic, can I combine more than one music clip into one video? Should I mention the rights to the site? How do I mention it? I hope you can answer me because I need it
yes! use as many songs as you want for a video, they are all covered as long as the video is on your connected youtube account! there is no need to credit epidemic or the artist
I would really had liked you to also review Audiio since it is a one time payment and it would be interesting to know if it has the same quality as Epidemic or Artlist
Quick question about these services - I have been concerned that if I started using one of these then stopped - what would happen to my rights to continue to monetise the videos when i've stopped subscribing?
Check out the license on each of them - they are all a bit different (namely Artlist) - but no, for all of them, if you had a license when you uploaded, you are good forever. With Artlist, I believe, if you had a subscription when your downloaded, you can use it forever
I was with Epidemic which I loved, with the stem option. But switch to Musicbed because it was 10$/month instead of 15$/month... You post this vid, I go check the prices and now Musicbed is more expensive. 🤔 So I'll be switching back to Epidemic when my subscription ends with MB, if my monthly price change. Thanks for the info!
What about “Lickd” . they are spendy, pay per song, only use one time. But I have used when I wanted a specific (real) song. Epidemic is my Go-To music. The problem I have is “Which song to use?” HAHA. Aloha
Just an update: Musicbed no longer has free trials. That's quite offputing honestly.
@@RCodyWanner yep, read their subscription cancellation policy. I may be at the end of my project or before a longer break, so paying monthly for something I won't use is not what I'm happy to do.
