    I love speaker designers. They're the tweakiest tweakers in a tweaky industry. And this guy doesn't hold back. He even responded to an email I sent them about product suggestions for the mkIII versions, and he was very gracious in agreeing with some of them while explaining why they won't go in certain directions. They're the real deal.

    I like the design and also the concept, when they have a dealer in Germany i would def check them out. BUT 7k for such an small ,,bookshelf,, :-O with ,,off the shelf,, Hypex Amps ? You get nearly a Neumann KH420 or GGNTKT M1 where youve even Room Correction on bord + Cardiod. I appreciate that people can design with ,relativly, small afford such products because pre-made Driver or Amp Modules like Hypex are already so good. But 7000 euro is a price range with a lot of competition and i think people dont care if the spend 7 or 10k and than you can stay with the ,,leaders,, like a Neumann, ATC, Genelec or similiar. Sorry but i dont see any reason where this speakers are so much worth. And another (small) point, i think at this price point you can expect a design without visible cross screws (aesthetics…) + no digital input ?!

    does it have a digital input?
    the dsp seems to have amazing tech built in but would it only accept analogue input? cuz that's an additional ad conversion isnt it?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Рік тому

      Hey there! No, those Ganymede monitors do not have any digital input on them. Just an analog XLR input. With that being said, you are completely right, there is AD/DA conversion happening with the on-board DSP.
      These monitors are using extremely high-quality DSP converter chips. Those chips will take care of both converting the inputted analog signal to digital, and converting that digitally processed signal back to analog.
      I hope this helps!

    I love all the deep dive info on the speakers, and especially, high end drivers, in detail, but when you are talking about a $7000.00 pair of (near/mid?) field monitors, I think you need to lead with that info.
    Hope to hear them some day...

    This sounds reeeeally good. But at that price, this is also reeeeeeally out of my price range. And while their specs sound incredible, I can get Adam A8H, Neumann KH 310a + KH 750dsp, or HEDDs MkII, or Genelecs for a lot cheaper. If I had the money, maybe I'd get these. But, if I were to audition all these models, would that 5% increase in performance be converted to a $2000 - $3000 difference in cost?

    $7000.00 for a pair? Seriously? I'm sure they sound really good but... I have a pair of 1982 vintage B&W speakers that originally sold for about $4000.00 each, I'm just glad I wasn't the fool that bought them when they were new.

    Very impressive monitors! Unfortunately, at that price range, even those running semi pro studios are not even going to consider purchasing them.
    If they could get them into a price range where they could get a pair to the customer for $2000, I would bet that they will be moving 10 times as many speakers out the door!

      @@studioneo986 gotcha! That’s not so bad then. I wonder how much latency it adds, or if it’s bypassable for tracking. Most importantly, how much would the speaker cost if it was just bare-bones analog? Personally, I’m saving up for a Trinnov. I can’t wait

    • @studioneo986
      @studioneo986 2 роки тому

      @@dougleydorite from the manual
      Due to the precision and computational intensity of our proprietary calibration process, the full phase and magnitude calibration introduces approximately 40ms of latency. The setting “full” reflects this complete phase and magnitude calibration. For those applications such as tracking where minimal latency is necessary, the “min latency” setting removes the phase calibration and applies only a magnitude calibration, which reduces the total system latency to approximately 2ms. Always make sure both loudspeakers are set to the same processing setting during operation to avoid phase distortion between the two speakers.
