  • Sattu drink is a delicious summer coolant made with black roasted chickpea and few other ingredients like beaten rice, millet, almond etc. and flavored with sugar or lime, mint.

    Sattu has amazing health benefits, it is rich in protein, several nutrients like rich in iron, calcium, magnesium. Check out detailed recipe below:
    Ingredients:
    Sattu
    • Roasted Chana - 1 Cup
    • Almonds - 20
    • Beaten Rice (Poha) - ½ Cup
    For Sweet Sattu
    • Sugar - As Per Taste
    • Cardamom - 3-4 seeds
    For Mint Lime Sattu
    • Lemon Juice - 2 tsp
    • Mint Leaves - 10
    • Salt - 1/4 tsp
    • Roasted Cumin Powder - 1/4 tsp
    Method:
    1.Dry roast roasted chickpea, almond and beaten rice and allow them to cool down. Once completely cool down prepare fine sattu powder.
    2.For Sweet Sattu: Add 2 -3 tbsp sattu powder in a glass, mix it with small amount of water to avoid lumps.
    3.Add Sugar, cardamom and water mix it well. Sweet Sattu drink is ready.
    4.For Lime and Mint Sattu: Add 2 -3 tbsp of sattu powder in a glass, mix it with small amount of water to avoid lumps. Add rock salt, cumin powder, Fresh lime juice, mint leaves and cold water. Mix it well. Lime and mint sattu drink is ready.
    5.Sattu Porridge: Mix 3 tbsp of sattu with small amount of water (room temperature). Once mix well add 1 cup water, sugar/jaggery and boil it on low flame with continuous stirring. Cook it for 2 minutes and it is ready.
    6.This sattu porridge can be serve to toddlers.
    Notes:
    • Sattu can only be roasted chickpea.
    • Add onion and green chili to mint and lime sattu it will add extra flavor and crunch to drink.
